- Wanted to update the look of my project car. My attempt at a custom no sew upholstery remake.
For this project I used 2 yards of black vinyl, 2 yards of headliner material, 2 yards of Mandarin Veranda material, 3 rolls of 3mm craft foam 24"x60", 6 pieces of 30"x40" chipboard (which I had to splice some pieces together, because my door panels are 44" wide), 1 can of 3M Super 77 spray adhesive and 3 cans of 3M High Strength spray adhesive. The tools were just good scissors, an exacto knife, a screen roller tool, a HF heat gun and a HF mini pick set. Tho I also picked up some new door clips for the rear panel and to replace some of my really bad ones. Авто/Мото
That's what friends are for. Put the snow tires on and hit the road. lol
😄
Very nice, I had no idea you could get it done so fast.🤪
I see what you did there. 😆 Thanks John!
Tim, Totally awesome project! I love your hands on approach to all your work on the car in the 25+ years. Your car looks and runs great. Still want a ride.
Thanks much Phil. I wish I could say I've done it all on this car but I have had plenty of help.
This is some great inspiration for doing the inside bed sides of my 78’ k5. Great work!
Thanks very much. 🙂
Beautiful work!
Thanks much!
That really came out great and looks very good against the black, really pops! Love the panels and the pleating design! Well done video! Bravo!!👍👏
Thanks much Barb, I really appreciate that. ☺

Looks good.nice job
Thanks Jim. I really appreciate it.
That came out really well, Tim! I look forward to seeing it in person this spring/summer.
Thanks much Kevin!
Tim that looks awesome. The video is the best I have seen on You Tube. Looking forward to seeing your Vega. Will you be at the IX show?
Thanks Jim. No IX center for us this year. Looking forward to cruising with you soon.
Really like how it all comes together
Thanks Jeremiah. I'm trying to keep busy till cruising starts. 😁
Nice!
Thanks Ma. 😊
Nice work, bill of materials is very helpful.
Related question kinda. What are the seats out of?
Thank you. The seats are Mazda Miata seats I got from a junk yard years ago. I made adaptors to bolt them in, and covered the adaptors in carpet to make it blend in.
Not a clue what you did. it's hard to follow constant time lapse. However, the end product looks good.
Thanks Malcolm. Yeah, I'm not used to this time lapse stuff. I did it slower with the center console video, which uses the same technique. ruclips.net/video/FejDD72bO3U/видео.html Just ask if you need details.
They look terrific! I may be looking to try something like this if my armrests don't fit with my doorbars!
Can I ask what seats you have in the car?
Thank you. The seats are Mazda Miata seats I got from a junk yard years ago. I made adaptors to bolt them in, and covered the adaptors in carpet to make it blend in.
Thanks! Are they adjustable? If so, did you use the Miata seat track or the Vega seat track? We're struggling because my seat needs to be forward for me to drive because I'm short, but I have to push back to get in and out. Appreciate any info!
I actually used the Miata tracks and made adaptors to mate to the vega seat bolt pattern using 1/8" thick steel tubing of various sizes. They originally sat too low, so I also made spacers to help. Then covered them with carpeting to hide the adaptors.

Yes they are adjustable. @@trishacavanaughXx72
