My Brother has an Origin in .22 and his does it as well. He shoots his from 2800psi down to 1700psi then he gets about 30foot pounds and a standard deviation in speed of 18fps
The fact that this has an unintentional low power vs high power mode is freaking sweet 😆; gives me options in case I need to shoot some stuff in residential zones without the risk of over penetration.
@@TheDollarSportsman Thats exactly what my brother does. When he does ratting he shoots at its "low" power and when we are out in the bush after guineafowl he runs it at "high" power. Bt an awesome gun. Love your videos!
@@TheDollarSportsman I got the gamo Fusion swarm last year for killing rats in my backyard. I'm considering getting the 22 orgin. possibly the 25. The .25 just seems awesome.
You are a prolific young man! Appreciate. This may be my 1st PCP. Only 43” and just under 7 pounds. So, for $50 more then gamo magnum, I can just cycle the bolt and fire several times and then take a break and do a few pumps. Or, I can pump/cycle after every freaking shot with less end game. 🤔 Thanks again
they arent regulated so you have to find the seet spot as pressure decreases its able to hit the Hammer spring harder thus releasing more air. My walther utx reign does the same thing.
The weird reading, may be that you're getting some, Hammer valve Lock with lighter pellets... Pellet leaving barrel faster than the valve can close... So it sprays out extra air holding/keeping it open a little longer than it should...
I put a regulator in mine. Still working on the tune but right now I am getting 40 shots @900fps reg set @ 2200psi with a spread of 18fps but I think I can get the spread smaller. I also removed the EPT system and made a new end cap for filling. I've had it up to 1060 So far the adjustability is from 750 to 960 with the stock hammer spring but 1060 with a 1.6mm wire spring.
Every video I've seen on the Origin in .25 is going the same fps or faster than the .22 version. Doesn't make any sense but is really impressive for the .25 cal version to be able to shoot 25-33 grain pellets at 800+fps
The increase in power with each shot is a faulty reg. It's leaking into the plenum and the hammer cant open the valve fully due to over pressure. As the pressure drops due to using air with each shot, the hammer is able to open the valve ore and more. This is why I stopped using PCP's, always an issue.
Great video! But, I think I have seen higher FPS with the 18 gr from the 22 Origin, so 1st thing that comes to mind is: did you have the hammer spring in each one set the same? Or, both set at max? Anyway, I really enjoyed your test! EDIT: I see the 22 FPS went up significantly later on, so....... maybe never mind.
I think there is a problem with the regulator because the power of the hammer spring does not increase gradually, but either there is a problem with the regulator or the valve spring may be broken.
Idk if it’s the same thing going on, but I’ve seen in other peoples videos them having trouble with the origin keeping a zero. So that worries me because I’d like to get one.
Hey I was hoping you could answer this for me I have the Benjamin vaporizer 22 and a Gamo maximum gen 2 ,22 I put some good scope on them 6-24-50 with.light up cross hair .what would be the longest yard would you sight them at for squirrel and rabbit hunting thank you
To sight in, I’d start with a 30 yard sight-in then make a dope chart and stick it to the gun somewhere, from 10-60 yards or so telling you exactly how much drop you get for the pellet you’re using and the elevation where you shoot (because a change in elevation will change the trajectory from break barrel airguns). Once you have a really good feel and can consistently put pellets at those distances, then squirrels beware 😎.
Where would I look into getting a scuba tank for cheap and have it certified and refilled? I’m going in the next week to pick up the Umarex Origin .22 and this will be my first PCP rifle. We’ve got a big pigeon and starling problem at the farm and I’m ready to eliminate them all!
In the first place, if your farm is in Utah I will gladly join you 😎. The best place is on local classifieds like Facebook marketplace, Craigslist or a local site: I found mine after looking for a bit on offer up I believe, and it was $50 :). Then another $50 to recertify it and $35 for the attachment for filling.
@@TheDollarSportsman I was wondering where you were, looking at the snow capped mountains rising above the lake. I was guessing Utah. I used to live in Layton, worked there and in Boulder.
dude it an unregulated gun there is a shot curve lower the pressure gets the valve is gonna Stay open longer and thar is gonna leave a window for very powerful shots best to use slugs around that window
All amazing options :); I was just shooting the Origin this past weekend and had a ton of fun with it. My wife even got on the 1/2” KYL target with the .25 cal version
I wish I could win one of those because I could never afford one love your videos you are the best I don't even watch anybody else's videos except for yours now I have unsubscribed to everybody except for you.
No mystery, you simply overfilled both rifles, it's called a bell curve. Just because something says $3,500 PSI doesn't mean you should fill it to 3,500 PSI.
Ya that .25 operates amazingly well; Aiden with Umarex told me the hot zone was around 2900, which worked extremely well with this one. I just can’t believe how much power is coming out of these rifles for how light weight and economical they are.
No one yet: this is what amazes me, that there are only 200 comments on that video when there are over 10 times the views :P. We were supposed to reach 500 comments by April 15th, yet somehow people still managed not to follow the rules 😆. So at this point, I plan to give it away anyway, but I was hoping to at least hit 250 comments.
My opinion with a few facts is... The .22 would be the winner! Ammo is cheaper and get more shots off, along with a ton more mods! You have to spend another 4 - $500 on both to really tell. Niether of the rifles are moded and are loose junk out of the box! Nice attemted review. Ed da pro snippin backyard man💥💪😎
I hope they last for you , Umarex sent me 4 in the matter of 5 months and i just gave up on it now I'm going through the same problem with the avenger 🤯
Man, do I hate to hear that! I was really thinking about getting one go these, or the Avenger. Also considering a Diana Storm Rider or maybe one other. Reliability is very important.
Watching through the video, you’ll see it starts to get up there in speed :). It hits the sweet spot under 2700 psi it would seem where the power just ramps up like crazy (which is awesome).
But sir the 22 will cut thru the wind better the 25 will have a tad more drag micro and the weight it can't reach out like the like the 22 so that 22 is spot on target gun I realize you were have few problems witch happens now and then wind was a factor scopes not on from being bumped around and crono problems yeha hey no mater what still fun and don't under estimate those calibors and being pcp,s oh yea they are strong gun kill squirms all day long pegions crows like knowbodys bizzness

Great comparison Noor. I might pick one up in 25 cal when they go on sale. Nice shooting brother! 😊
Beautiful area, love the mountains in the background with snowcapped peaks
HATSAN FLIES AT AROUND 43 and 48 ft LBS. Same springs !
As the pressure goes down a bit the valve is hit harder allowing it to open more
Man! That .22 cal is impressive. It keeps getting faster and faster. Awesome power!
Very nice video 👍👍👍👏 Greatings from Nis, Serbia 👍👏
Thank you for watching!!
Great review!
I would think you would want to make sure both guns have same hammer screw adjustment for a accurate comparison but very good review!
Thank you! Both were from the factory unadjusted :)

Watch Hajimoto's full review on the Origin.22 for the answer. He explains how to get the MOST out of these airguns.

I think there is a problem with the regulator because the power of the hammer spring does not increase gradually, but either there is a problem with the regulator or the valve spring may be broken.
These aren’t regulated :)
@@TheDollarSportsmanSo where did the problem come from, that the power increased with each shot, when you don't touch the hammer spring??
Def the hammer spring adjuster low . My origin 22 shoots high 900s
Gauntlet = benchrest gun, origin = field gun. The origin is so much lighter and likely a better choice for a entry gun for hunting.
Idk if it’s the same thing going on, but I’ve seen in other peoples videos them having trouble with the origin keeping a zero. So that worries me because I’d like to get one.
I haven’t personally noticed, but then again, I usually tend to resight my airguns each time I go out based on the conditions (wind/temperature).
Appreciate the head to head comparison. Just wish they were easier to buy . . . seems like they sold out everywhere.

BEST AIR GUN VIDEOS IN THE WORLD RIGHT HERE!!!!
It’s that valve on the .22 as it pushes down it get faster and faster
True that! Keeping the pressure between 1500-2500 seemed to be the best zone for maximum awesome sauce 😎
hammer tension is too low on the 22. thats why the velocity is rising as the bottle pressure goes down
What scope are you using?
The hammer spring is set too light on the 22. If you increase the hammer spring the velocity curve will flatten.
Yes, & a head to head shoot them both at their optimal pressure curves.

On the speed of the .22...is it heating up and sealing better? Is that even a thing? idk
Turn the spring up on the twenty two, mine seems to be shooting alot faster than yours
How do you get 70 fpe out of the .25 cal. ?
33.95 gr.pellet at 963 fps.
Hey Timmy Timmy Timmy I like the origin 25 caliber but then again I also like the 22
Your 22 seems to be shooting slow. Adjust your hammer spring. Mine shoots 18g around 900
And that’s not with the hammer spring all the way in either. 🤙🏼

My origin 22 likes psi range from 1500 to 2400 psi the best with the 18.39 JSB pellets.
How many usable shots in .25 can you get starting with 3200psi?
Easily 3 mags; past that I’m not sure.
How many shoot per fill that .25 gun...
I shoot my origin 850 - 900 fps with bsa red star and works good at 110 meters
