  • The Marine Corps Option - NROTC Scholarship provides a commission in the United States Marine Corps, $180,000 for tuition, fees, and books, and a monthly stipend that increases over your four years in college. Some colleges and universities also provide NROTC Midshipmen with free or reduced room and board. The NROTC scholarship can be used at most major universities in the United States, including UPenn, Drexel, Temple, Penn State, Villanova, Rutgers, UMD, Carnegie Melon, Duquesne, Pitt, and the Ivy League schools.
    NROTC midshipmen drill and workout with their NROTC unit and take an extra military science course each semester. Over the summer, NROTC midshipmen attend training with Marine Corps and US Navy units across the country, Mountain Warfare Training School in Bridgeport, CA, and Marine Corps Officer Candidate School in Quantico, VA. After four years, Marine Option NROTC scholarship recipients graduate debt free, with a commission in the United States Marine Corps and five years of guaranteed employment in the Marine Corps.
    Requirements:
    •U.S. citizen at least 17 years prior to the NROTC Early Board in November
    •1000 on the SAT, 22 on the ACT, or 74 on the Armed Forces Standard Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB).
    •Involvement in extracurricular activities ideally w/ leadership experience and some community service
    • High degree of physical fitness. Applicants will need to complete a Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
