- I was sent this absolutely fantastic box of vintage model trains in the mail and I can't believe how many unique things were included: Locomotives, rolling stock, street cars and even a couple kits. One thing that was particularly special was a Green British steam, unlike anything shown on the channel before. I would like to give a huge thank you to HO Scale Modeler for generously sending this lot.

Nice Hornby steam loco and cars to pull behind it. Union Pacific F unit is classic. Thanks to HO Scale Modeler for adding to Harrison's collection. Payday bars are delicious. Taking a page from my book with the Peeps - - nice.

Ho scale modeler goes to my train club, he told me he sent a package to you. For 3 weeks I waited, watching this was a great start to my day. :)

Just got into trains my grandpa had them and he passed two years ago and been loving thanks smt mainline for advice two get into the hobby I enjoy it keep it up

Nice finds there I gotta say. As soon as I saw the LNER green and dapol kits and bachmann cars that went to it I was like. Sam's Trains theme. Very awesome. And your welcome . Thank you for being a generous person that incudes many others as well .

Heck Harrison, abd Garrett( kokosing) are what got me back into the hobby plus the generous ideas of fixing etc even the idea of the module layout I'm trying to build its a lonnng project but will come along more wood to buy and then track roadbed etc its my first time lol being that i wish I started when i was younger but I let my stuff sit and sit. One day koko and smt were the videos that kept popping up which in my profile picture is a locomotive i worked on for months it was horrible looking and never ran. My mom's yardsale gind in 2007 2008. I finished it in March as well as bought another to match from trainshow in February. Plus other things came along. It's got me back in a hobby I've loved since i was 4 now im 32 . Amazed how Modelrailroading community mostly people are kind etc. Ive seen only a few that aren't including a hobby store i went to the guy was more into the money then anything by how he acted which is why I'm glad to find a flea market dealer who is fair plus I seen some things he has that now I'm gonna save up for . again Thank you for being who you are etc. I love how people can be same way its just great.

Wow your very lucky being given that awesome lot , The Varney is lush , The Bachman plank wagons are British . I also have the Kato Desert storm livery loco in n scale bought new and quite expensive considering I’m in the uk

Very nice of HO scale modeler sending you that stuff SMT! That Varney locomotive has one heck of a story behind it sitting on a shelf for 60 years! And I thought my Bachmann GS-4 Daylight had a long life sitting on a hobby store shelf, lol! Take care!

Wow what a good lot! That had some really good stuff in it as well! Great videos SMT! I also had a pretty big lot as well and they are old family trains passed down in my family for a long time. They are really cool!

My father had a Varney F3 like that one, but in PRR colors. A real nice runner.
It's amazing how much is just sent to you. I believe that British steam loco is a class D49, and now I might try to get one myself. I recently got some old tri-ang rolling stock from 1955, but I don't have a matching British loco to pull them (but I have two British tenders)

I love that Varney box! SMT, have you heard of HO collector magazine? Great magazine if you like the older HO trains and the history of the companies that made them.

Have you ever made a video that would help a person put the right type of rolling stock with the right era of loco? I've been collecting train cars and locos for a while and would like to know more about what goes together proper so I can put together trains that look correct. For instance what locos pull 50' cars? What rolling stock go best with diesel locos? Might you have any suggestions about how many rolling stock should make a complete train for an ho layout. Certainly can't put 100 cars on a ho track in a small room even if I had a track! Thanks for your great channel.
a fun fact is the Dapol kits are actually old air fix kits that Dapol now own.
Yep and the Airfix kits were old Kitmaster kits that Airfix bought the moulds for!

The 4-6-2 is similar to the presidents choice 4-6-2 minus the streamlined stuff and the darker paint
That's a nice lots of trains. I've been browsing Ebay of late. I find repairing trains to be a challenge yet it would be nice to see them run again. I need to start working again in order for me to start making purchases online etc.
If you don't get those up there in the Great White North you are going to love Paydays.
That Dixie Line caboose is based off a a CB&Q home built.

A lot of manufactures make identical 0-4-0s and the 0-4-0t like model power, Lima, mantua and many others

I seen that lner 4-4-0. It’s from the same railroad as the flying Scotsman the loco your grandma owned. It’s in the British blue livery but it’s from the same railroad
I think the wagons and the dapol kits probably go with the 4-4-0. The 4-4-0 is a mix traffic engine as the British call it. It means it good do passenger and goods
How meany free trains do you get SMT? It's too much lol. Never get rid of the UP unit because one day you will live to see it become a 100 years old.
Quick suggestion, if you're looking for a good engine to review that's got sound and DCC, I'd check out the Bachmann USRA Light Pacifics! They have a GTW scheme too.
That life like chassis is a F40PH, I have one with that exact chassie

SMT - How about try pulling those Pennsy cars with your doodlebug & see how it works? Perhaps some British modelers can recommend decals or dry transfer lettering for the car kits? Don't you already have a white tank car that is short & has four wheels?
British engines are nice you should get some more.

OO scale is not very common outside the UK as far as I know.
It's true. You can find some here in North America however it's a lot more rare than HO and most of the OO stuff are pieces that were imported from the UK.
