Hi there, just wondering - in order to qualify as part of the quota, does the application just need to be lodged within the financial year? I.e could you apply on the 30th of June 2021 and still be within the timeframe to qualify for the quota and not have to meet the language requirements?
Hi Jacinta, the quota relates to the number of visas granted within the financial year. Applications lodged on 30th June would most likely be granted and counted in the following financial year's quota. The upcoming changes to language requirements are likely to start mid to late 2021 and will impact new partner visa applications.
If some one came by boat as refugee? Can apply for partner visa here if partner is Australian ?and do the person need to offshore or can apply here ?

Wanted to ask you please, when applying for partner visa 309 online, is the max. number of character counts for each 04 pillars of the relationship (Finance, Nature of Com, Social & Nature of House) is restricted to 2000 characters when applying online? thanks you and appreciate your reply. I lodged my prospective marriage visa in October 2020. And number of times we replied with the necessary documents.
Last reply April 2022. After that this December more than 8 months no any questions they asked.

The current processing priorities (with the highest priority listed first) are:
1. Visa applications for any points tested subclass where the Department has determined that the applicant has an occupation within a Critical Sector.
2. Subclass 491 (non-Critical Sector) - applicants are in Australia
3. Subclass 491 (non-Critical Sector) - applicants are outside of Australia
4. Subclass 489 (non-Critical Sector)
5. Subclass 190 (non-Critical Sector)
6. Subclass 189 - Points tested stream only (non-Critical Sector)
The current processing priorities came into effect from 31 August 2020 and apply to applications lodged with the Department on or after this date and to applications that had been lodged previously with the Department and have not been finalised including those in the final stages of processing.
