      Thank You!
      All was recorded in 4K with my GoPro Hero10 with drone shots from DJI Mini2 and everything edited together on my M1 Mac Mini in 4K. One of the reasons I started this hobby was because pre-pandemic when I was researching all I could find was videos that either only had stack footage that wasn't even the resort or it was 20 somethings with cell phones pointed at their faces being fabulous. I kind of invented the "Resort Walkaround" RUclips video genre. My videos are for viewers that want to SEE the resort grounds and what things LOOK and FEEL like when there. So they can make an informed holiday purchase. I'm still learning and trying to improve and my goal is for the channel to help pay for more of our trips.

    • @papawgotagopro
      @papawgotagopro  Год назад +1

      @@DanaNield foreigners are not legally allowed to fly any drone anywhere in Mexico. Only Mexican citizens can. I haven’t seen any organized effort to prevent us from doing it, but technically we cannot. You’ll see that I don’t fly mine over lots of people and I don’t get very high. That’s me minimizing my exposure if something goes wrong.

    Hello! Great video, nice and slow and great explanations. I'm sorry for a lot of questions but this is my first time looking at all inclusives for a honeymoon on a budget. Are you able to answer my questions?
    1. Is $2k for me and my wife around May 2023 a good price for 7 nights and flight (from DTW, Spirit airline) included? It screams like an insane deal, it's from cheap Caribbean website and that includes travel insurance and transportation from airport-resort-airport.
    2) Is the food decent? I'm not expecting anything that blows my mind.
    3) we can visit which other Bahia properties nearby and is that a walk or is the trolley provided?
    4) Is there anything we specifically can't do while we're in the other properties like can't do dinner there or something?
    5) is there any must excursions that's worth paying for?
    6) are reservations required for food?
    7) Any cons or things we need to be aware of that we may not like?

    • @papawgotagopro
      @papawgotagopro  Год назад +1

      Thanks for watching, no problem with questions.
      1. I’ve booked several trips with Cheap Caribbean and it’s always been fine. Never done Spirit to fly, so cannot help there. That sounds like a great price. I don’t think transport is actually included, but that could have changed. Be sure to know all extras Spirit might add on.
      2. I’ve been to over 20 all-inclusive resorts and the food at Grand Coba is above average. The choices are over the top.
      3. Coba guests have no access whatsoever to the other resorts except reservations to the a la carte restaurants at Grand Tulum. Not a big deal for us because Grand Coba has plenty to keep busy.
      4. See #3.
      5. I haven’t done excursions in years. Others might can help there.
      6. Reservations are only required for evening a la carte restaurants and in 7 nights you’ll be allowed 3 of those. My top 3 recommends are: Don Pablo and Tequila at Tulum and Mashua at Coba. But they’re all nice.
      7. Cons for Grand Coba are (order of impact to me) Distance from airport, beach is a little crowded, no lunch/snacks at the beach - you have to trolley (10 minutes) back to the resort for lunch. That’s about all the cons for me.
      We’re headed back (Akumal this time) in a few days. All new videos coming in a few weeks.

    I noticed you showed Akumal beach, isn't that private? Do you have to pay for an upgrade to use it?

    • @papawgotagopro
      @papawgotagopro  2 года назад +2

      Hi Jeni.
      Did you notice the dark brown stairs and ramp? Everything on the side of that I recorded is the Grand Coba’s beach and facilities. Everything past that is the Luxury Akumal’s beach & facilities. The two halves are essentially the same and - beachwise - there’s no benefit to pay for an upgrade. Anybody staying at any section can walk up and down the shoreline and swim in the sea wherever they like. But Coba guests cannot use the loungers, shade palapas or bars on the Akumal side.

      Hi Alyssa.
      This trip I actually stayed at so different resort complex and visited Grand Coba on a day pass to record for this Walkaround and another coming soon.
      For restaurant reservations you should email the resort at info.coba@bahia-principe.com about 5-7 days before arrival. Give your names, dates of arrival and departure, booking ID number and booking company. Give a list of your preferred restaurants and an acceptable time slot.
      Those that leave such comments may have required a specific restaurant on a specific evening at a specific time. Or they may have waited until arrival. Or they were there during Spring Break when the resort was at 100% occupancy.

    Hi, nice video. Would you mind answering a few questions for me? Me and my family are thinking about going to this resort and I need to know a few things. For example is there any kind of bar or buffet at the beach included in the all inclusive we will have? How crowded the beach usually is? Is it possible to find a bed for family in normal time? Is there a possibility to go with taxi or a bus to city to enjoy a town life?

    • @papawgotagopro
      @papawgotagopro  Год назад

      The beach is a 5-10 minute trolley ride away. The beach does have a beach bar but not food service. Guests have to ride the trolley back to the resort for lunch and snacks. This is the only real weakness of the resort and hopefully soon they’ll correct it.
      My video shows the beach at its most crowded.
      Bahia Coba is a very popular resort and is often fully booked. Most weeks rooms are available.
      Playa del Carmen is a 30 minute colectivo bus ride away.

      I think you are very unsure if going to a resort like this in Mexico is a good thing for you. My experiences are a mixture of over 30 trips to almost all parts of Mexico and being mostly conversational in Spanish. So my experience is very different than your first trip is going to be.
      For someone taking their very first trip to Mexico I usually suggest they go to a resort in the Playacar development adjacent to the city of Playa del Carmen. Any of the RIU resorts (there are 6) or the Iberostar.
