How medal event is judged:
1 heat of 8 athletes. 30 minute controlled jam session. Best run counts, ranked 1 - 8.
Competitor’s will take as many runs as they can within the 30 minutes.

Thank you all for the kind words! I love being able to still be a part of the competitive side of the sport as an analyst and I will do my best to break down the epic tricks and moments for you all! And to clear things up for everyone wondering about the park finals, there has been a big issue with rain in Japan so the final for park has been canceled and the placings from this elimination are now the final results. We are still going to run the street final, park best trick and Flatland today so make sure you check it out

Logan Martin is so nuts with the speed and height of his tricks. This park was too small for him to even do his thing properly. Hes over jumping everything. His backyard is almost bigger than this course.

some of this judging has me questioning, like how did Reilly get only mid 50’s
It’s not just big tricks, you gotta do big tricks, at height, and link them together well. I think Kierans score shoulda been higher too but he definitely had some weak filler tricks.

Sad to see how poorly this was judged. Some riders were completely over scored and others were ripped off. Also the judges seemed to picked and choose who they gave harsher deductions too.
Disagree. The judging was good, the course was bad. Bmx isn't just about tricks: its about how high you go, how smoothly you land, and the links between the tricks.
@@Bmxae then how do you explain Logan Martin's first run being scored so high? He barely landed anything smooth or clean.
Im Aussie and a big fan of his too and that's why I know he had an average run. He was even surprised when he went to the top

I was thinking the same thing. Kinda scratching my head tryna figure out how they were scoring the runs bcuz it didn’t make any sense
Exactly my thought, also I kinda get the feeling keiran gets underscored a lot 🤷🏼♂️
I commented the same thing on a video yesterday and they deleted it. Nakamura is a great rider, but they gave him an incredibly high qualifying score when he cased three times in a row on his run and almost bailed. I watched most of qualifying and just couldn't get a grasp on what exactly they were judging, because it certainly wasn't how clean or smooth the lines were being executed and it definitely wasn't based on the difficulty of the tricks being done. They need to give us a break down or something
@@Ro7ard yeah they really need to show a breakdown of the scoring cause sometimes it seems like they are blindfolded or something when making the scoring

The course seems like it fights against the flow of the riders or something. Just seems like it's making the riders hold back and seem rather uncomfortable.

He aint pushing the sport by perfecting hes go to run for the past 10 years (meanwhile all the others are progressing and pushing the sport).. After 10 years hes run is just boring cause its the same every comp
Imagine watching a baseball game where the announcer knows every batter personally and loves them and builds them all up as much as they can.

He should only talk to explain tricks…. Not talk about the riders. He can’t be biased.

Crazy talented fella's out rippin it up. Just wanted to know if goofy as you say, wouldn't it be easier catching bike under you after talewhip as your outside foot is forward. I can't do anything these days after lot's of big mx crashes, not that I ever could, just asking. Avagud1, That crazy high think they said double Sandoval did looked like he could of done perfect transfer too left over little rockwall rail, if he angled abit left as he took off, would've land abit easier on himself. Sorry I get into PS5 mode watching this absolutely awesome riding.

I've been watching since X-Games came to Philadelphia in 2001! Some friends and I actually took the train in from the suburbs to ride and hang out. Not long after they skate-stopped everything at love and ruined the scene.
i dunno about some of these scores....but whatever.

26:07 when scotty says hes goofy foot rider is it cause he spins left with left footward? I always thought right foot foward was goofy🤔
In BMX the “Goofy” term is used when a rider’s dominant spin is the same direction as their front foot (right spin towards the right foot) or if their dominant grind side is on the same side as their back foot or if they kick their dominant tail whip using their front foot. I hope this helps!
Marcus is just weird cause he’s goofy but he whips regular. Most goofy riders such as myself kick whips with the front foot and spin to our front foot, but I also barspin to my front foot so it’s topside in spins.
