the thing is all these courses favor more tech than a big style. like Stevie is throwing 3 whips out of nothing and he gets nothing for it, but Chad does a manny line and everyone loses their mind. i get the tech is dificult, but being able to throw a truck, 3 whip, or a 540 out of no where is more impressive to me
I share the same opinion but Reynolds is pretty badass too. But he's throwing similar tricks as stevie so fair play.
swankHD think if you had the skills that these gentlemen do, and then went and attempted a banger compared to a technical line... what do you think would take more attempts at getting dialed? Don't get me wrong the bangers are great to see, but to put together a technical line with multiple tricks is just as hard if not just a bit harder compared to a big banger. You are right though, the course favoured a tech rider compared to "big style" rider, but isn't that what park riding is more suited towards?
i agree with your comment that park is 100% tech, but the problem with that is this is a "street" event...

2014 is gonna be the stevie churchill and bruno hoffman show when it comes to street competition, chad and garrett will kill it of course, but those will shine as well... theres alot of comp's being several xgames/dew tour stops to shine
this kind of park setup really doesnt do justice for any of these guys. I feel bad they had to ride on a course that clearly didnt have their best interest in mind. that being said, its quite impressive how all of them made use of it the best they could.
Kevin Burke agreed. the main reason for the course being this way though was X-Games deal with Street League Skateboarding to host SLS, which meant the course had to be designed around the SLS's terrible judging system. kinda ruined it for the BMXers, though Bruno Hoffmann tore the place apart! 2015 X-games street course didn't host SLS, and a much better course for everyone.

sorry to say it but the only one who really gave him some comp was churchill rewatch it renoylds tricks every single obsticle and does lot of oppo stuff. but yeah he does get a little more praise on his first run i didnt think he deserved a 40

no, freewheels, a couple where riding freecoasters
I know, free-coasters and freewheels are completely different things my friend. A freewheel is basically the older version of the cassette, they haven't been used for years.
freewheels are still being used, not by bmx riders or anyone who's serious about riding but they're still being used. also, a free-coaster is very much like a cassette in that the only difference is the clutch :') or ... atleast that's how my Profile free-coaster is
+jason stewart well considering this is a bmx video I assumed we both werwere only talking about bmx XD and most freecoasters have fully different internals then cassettes, which makes them even more different the freewheels :)
MultiTylertv i guess, and the only difference from mine and a cassette is bearing size and the clutch. it's a lot different from a friend of mine's but he's had nothing but trouble with his, he's had it re-built about 4 times now (twice by me) and mine is still running strong, rightly so i think since mine cost just shy of £400 when new and his cost £150

i disagree, and i know its a late reply and what not, but watch where the cameraman is before he takes off and then after he takes off, he moves sideways giving lacy no idea of where to try the trick off... i could see why he was pissed. Just weird how they completely pretended none of that happened when they came back to broadcast.

garret and chad are so overrated, yeah they're good riders, and definitely among the best but seriously, a lot of the other riders were cleaner and had more technical tricks

as far as COMPETITION STREET RIDING goes, theres a reason why garrett has been dominant, he kills it, but as far as true street is concerned, there is no best... van homan will do shit garrett wont, who will do shit simone wont, who will do shit dennis enarson wont, and so on and so on, theyre all fantastic, but this is competition so enjoy it =P

Dennis McCoy is pro and a BMX legend. By and large, chances are that Dennis invented a lot of tricks most people still can't do.
I never understood these BMX guys. I skate and I see shit tons of BMX:ers at my local skatepark. They do incredible shit that look hard as shit!

well i do both and they're both hard and shit while skateboarding requires more precision and bmx is more accurate or whatever (hard to explain). i personally think bmx is harder when you start doing the more professional tricks while an ollie is a lot harder than bunnyhop. So yeah if i compare the kickflip with a barspin i would really say that the barspin is a lot harder. just my opinion :)
