      Adelene Huynh thank you! I have been doing research and I know both business schools are good so i’m in a pickle lol. I’m just trying to differentiate it like, UCR is quarter based (faster but gets more credits done?), CSUF is semester, UCR has less students than CSUF, UCR is more in the middle of nowhere (not rlly, but Fullerton is like 12 min away from disneyland and not far from LA). The main thing that is though is that UCR is a UC and i guess it’s more prestigious? • @adelenehuynh5997

      kat hey so for semester vs quarter it doesn’t really matter about the units because you can convert them and you basically graduate the same time regardless of which type of school as long as you’re on track. Quarter is faster because you take less classes at a time and there are more quarters a year. I’m not sure about business programs and recruitment because I’m a science major so I’m sorry I can’t help you with that. But I do know that UCR is in the middle of nowhere ish but is close to a lot! It’s in between LA and Irvine and SD and Disney is only a 45 min drive if you’re into Disney!

    UCR and UC in general is terrible if you are not a STEM major. Both my parents are tenured professors at UCSD and I know everything about the UC system. Don't come to UCR unless you have a specific plan for a STEM job after college or you will regret it. I've lived in Riverside for the past decade. If you are not working on a long term goal and taking advantage of the cheap housing and easy 9 to 5 job offerings in the area this is the worst place to be. If you don't have a car you will end up walking in 110 degree weather for half an hour to an hour just to get to the grocery store. If you have a car there are many scenic areas and the sunset here is top 10 in the world if viewed from the highlands but aside from that its ghetto as fuck and no one wants to be here for any longer than they have to be. People like to use this as a cheap home base which is only an hour and a half drive from both San Diego and LA.

    so I’m having a hard time deciding between UCR and CC... Is UCR worth 70-80k in debt? Whenever I talk about going to cc all my friends are like ur wasting ur life 😭😭I know u don’t have experience with cc but like what’s ur opinion

    • @luisflorensio5175
      @luisflorensio5175 3 года назад +6

      Hey man, CC is definitely not a waste of time if you do things right and go into it with the right end goal which is transferring to a better school. I went to Santa Monica College and I just heard back from UCR as a transfer so I’m looking into it. I would say to first think about what cc you have close by and how does it rank in successfully transferring students. For me, SMC is the best around the LA area so I travelled there and back everyday through 2 hrs of traffic cuz its worth it. CC isn’t shit like what most people think though its definitely not a UC by any means. Get involved in leadership or look into internships and stack up all the good things Universities want to see when you apply. I went into CC feeling like shit because all my friends went directly to UC’s or privates. I chose CC instead of another Uni to save money and stack on good looking experiences for when the time comes to apply. Once I gave it a chance, I found lots of clubs and eventually became club president for the Latino/Latina club. Eventually I ran for student government and was elected. All this helped me get into UCR and UC Berkeley cuz my grades weren’t the best when I applied as a freshman. If you really want to go to another UC or private, don’t count yourself out of ever reaching that. I wanted to get into a better business program than Cal State LA so even though I did 2 yrs in CC, now I can go to UCB and I’d say it was worth it. If UCR is a school you would want to go to, then go for it. You already got it in the bag i assume? If you want to give yourself another chance, then go to CC, focus/stack up on good grades and get leadership experience from a club or something. To be honest, being part of clubs and student government isn’t my thing and I would be lying if I said I did it all for the sake of doing it. We all want to transfer and get into the school we want. I do enjoy being involved around campus and everything but I also know that stuff like this would earn me major points when applying. So i did my best to learn all the skills I needed for that. With that said, you don’t have to do everything I did but focusing and getting good grades to then apply to the school you really want to go to is possible at a CC.

    • @Yuhssss
      @Yuhssss 3 года назад +1

      UCR integrates well with CC, especially if you have been a California resident for at least 5+ years. Also, if your family income is under $80k, then tuition is usually paid fully by grants (as long as you apply for FAFSA and CAL Grants).
