  • General Mechanics:
    Dash/Run
Tap back twice to dash away from your opponent.
Tap forward twice to dash towards your enemy. Most characters will run forward and will continue to do so if you held forward after tapping it twice. Shigen does a slide-like dash and will only cover half a screen if you've held forward.
    Jump
Press up-backward, up or up-forward to jump backward, neutral or forward respectively.
    Short jump
Slightly tap up-backward, up or up-forward to do a short jump backward, neutral or forward respectively.
Forward long versions of both can be done by dashing forward then press or slightly tap up + forward.
    Airblocking
When jumping straight up or backwards you can block projectiles, anti-airs, aerial normal attacks, and ground special moves. The attacks you cannot block in airblocking are grounded normals and of course unblockable attacks.
    Only 4 buttons are used.
    A is light attack.
Back + A is a shorter(and usually faster) light attack.
    B is strong attack.
Forward + B is a non-cancellable long reaching strong attack.
    C is kick.
Forward + C is a long attack(usually a kick except for some characters) that will slam and bounce grounded enemies to the wall and knock down airborne ones. Cancellable only in Power Mode.
Down-forward + C is a cancellable low sweep that will knock the enemy down.
    When enemy is down:
    Press C to kick.
For most characters, press down-forward + B for a downward weapon attack.
    Exceptions:
    Akari
Aside having the above input, she also has an up + C jumping stomp.
    Shigen
    Press down-forward + C instead of B for a stomp. C+D when close for a grab.
    Juzoh and Shikyoh
Press up + B instead for a jumping weapon attack.
    Lee
Press up + C for a jumping stomp similar to Akari.
    D is the repel/recover.
Use this to deflect enemy attacks that will leave them open to huge combos or even attacks that has huge start up.
Press D or back +D to repel normal attacks.
Press forward + D to repel special attacks.
Press down or down-backward + D to repel normal low attacks.
Press down-forward + D to repel special low attacks.
CAN NOW BE DONE WHILE AIRBORNE.
You can opt to press D again after a successful parry to perform a blow away attack.
Failing to repel will leave you open to your enemy's attacks for a short while.
By performing back, down-back, down+D while blocking, you can repel moves such as multi hit supers and projectiles. It also helps you avoid chip damage and gives you a free combo, though it costs one meter.
You can recover from being knocked over by pressing D.
Press C+D to perform a throw.
WEAPONS CAN NO LONGER BE DISARMED.
    Desperation Move
A super move that can be done if your power meter is full OR if you're life bar is flashing red.
After picking your character, you'll need to choose which mode you want to be in, Power, Speed or EX.
    Power Mode
Deal more damage and block stun per strike. Most of your weapon strikes are safe on block.
Do chip damage with normal moves.
    Cannot use chain/target combos.
Changes the functions of some normal and special moves.
B+C performs an unblockable long reaching attack with a very long start-up.
    Fast meter gain.
Can cancel specific special moves into Desperation moves(AKA Super-Cancel).
    No "Speed Combo Special."
Can do Super Desperation Moves(Max Super) when life bar is flashing red AND power gauge is full.
    Can stun/dizzy enemies.
    Speed Mode
Can chain normal moves together. AKA target combos.
Less damage per hit, but the chain/target combos makes up for it.
Does not deal chip damage with normal moves.
Changes the functions of some normal and special moves.
B+C performs an overhead attack that launches a grounded enemy on hit and when blocked low will put the enemy into a reel back animation, leaving them open for a while.
    Slower meter gain.
    No Super Desperation Moves.
Can do the Super Speed Combo by pressing down down + A(overhead) or B(low) which consumes a full super meter regardless if your life is flashing red or not.
This works like Geese Howard's Deadly Rave where you input specific buttons in correct sequences. All characters have 4 different button sequences.
    Universal sequence is A, B, C, A, B, C, A, B, qcf+C.
Doesn't connect into a combo when cancelled from a normal attack.
    Cannot stun/dizzy enemies.
    EX Mode
Same as Speed mode with a few differences.
Normal weapon attacks deal chip damage.
Can perform Super Cancels and Super Desperation moves.
Deal a little bit more damage with your attacks but also receive a lot more.
    SLOWEST meter gain.
To select EX mode, select your fighter then highlight Speed and press C 6 times, then Power and press B 3 times, then Speed and press C 4 times. Do this within a span of 4 seconds.
    Can stun/dizzy enemies.
