Great video and crossing! Always love those old Field & Grant barriers! I remember how Joe used to call these "Staythorpe Barriers" as I guess that's where he first saw 'em, lol. And I know I've seen a few people on Facebook call them "Western Region barriers", so I'm guessing that's the region of BR that they were mostly (if not entirely?) used on? As a side note, I kinda have to wonder... Had the "big four" railways remained after grouping, do you think that their crossings all would've been different in terms of equipment? Like, could it've been similar to how it is here in the US where everything has to meet certain basic standards but the exact specs (like what equipment is used and how it's positioned) would've been entirely by the railroad's choice? Also, right now (at the time of writing this comment), I'm staying at a hotel in Greer, SC, and I'm able to hear plenty of trains passing by on the busy NS Charlotte District nearby, lol.
Thank you! I have heard of these barriers being referred to as 'Western Region barriers', as well as 'Staythorpe' barriers of course, and I have known most of this kind to be found in the western region typically. I'd imagine there wouldn't be as much variety in terms of protective equipment if all the operators stayed the same for that matter.

It is upgraded by February or march it will be fit in with new barriers probably SPX
