All great suggestions. I really enjoy Benchmark Top Floor and 1792 Small Batch as affordable but great pours. Love the video format, love the simplicity with the slides and tasting notes as well - it's easy to follow and right to the point!
I always have a handle of Jim Beam, Evan Williams Bottled in Bond and old Forester 100. The others are good too, but I prefer some locals if I’m going to spend more.

If you are catering to the beginner bourbon enthusiast then these are great options. Although one thing to note is that none of these companies are small by any means. Bulliet, Brown Forman, and Heaven Hill are all behemoths in the whiskey world and regularly top the world’s most purchased whiskey.

So the Evan Williams BIB was my first bottle, thought it was ok, great mixer. I like the Old Forester Signature a lot better, only $22.99 by me. I have the Four Roses Small batch, amazing, haven't tried the single barrel yet, but I will. Tried a sample of the Bulleit, solid.

Evan williams BiB everyone pretty much knows about... But the Evan Williams 1783 is very underrated and I prefer it over the BiB. Try it straight or put a ice cube and it's delicious

I have everyone of those bottles, and the only one worth drinking neat is the Four Roses sib and the OF 100 proof. The rest I consider my bottom shelf mixers. They are for cocktails and visitors with inexperienced palates imo.
I can dig it. Everyone has different tastes but I appreciate your perspective. Not everyone has a large stock of whiskey. Join the Party! We're building a community of bourbon lovers...sign up at the link in the video description. Cheers!
It's pretty hard to find those allocated unicorns out in Colorado, and they are expensive. I like to try different whiskeys, and I buy a lot of store picks. I like the Michter's, the EW and the 4 Roses. I usually go for WT101, OGD 114, or Maker's Mark 46 when buying in this category.

@@schoolofwineandspirits I thought of a couple that would be good on this list. If you have not tried David Nicholson Reserve, you should, the 1843 is a good wheater too.

For me Evan William BiB is on the decline now. My last one all I could think of was blades of grass. Agree with your OF, 4 Roses, and Bulleit picks. For me my overlooked Bourbon is JW Dant Bottled In Bond and OGD BIB. Nearly everyone by me just reaches for OGD 114. An overlooked Rye that tasted really good to me was the James Pepper Barrel Proof Rye.
You have some great picks there. The BIB can be inconsistent from season to season since it is required to be produced in one distilling season...meaning that the corn squeezin's could be different every six months. A bad batch can get in there but QC should cover it. May just be a bad bottle. It happens. I'm a huge Rye fan.
