I was 5 years old in 1981 when this game came to my fathers arcade, I can remember standing on milk crates playing this game and getting the high scores. I think now its time for me to buy one.
I just love this frogger music. All these different short tunes, and the main tune which will never ever leave my brain. 🎶🎵🐸 Thanks for showing this classic. ♥️
I was 22 & going to UAB when this came out. There was a Frogger at the local convenience store & I had high scores. I can relate to George wanting to save his. It's one of my favorite Seinfeld episodes.
I don't know if you know this but frogger side art was an option from the factory that's why alot of them don't have it they left the factory without it
Actuawally this machine was built by Sega, but thank you for your attempt to correct something that didn't need to be corrected. You've never seen the arcade game, so you think it was made by Konami but Konami never released this as an arcade game. Sega did. Not only are you wrong, you're wrong for saying I'm wrong. so I need two public apologies, thx
+Stephen Long Thank you, we thought it was in pretty nice shape when we first got it, once we put the new artwork on it it really made it pretty sharp!
I was told by an old op that the side art was a factory option and cost extra apparently when the game came out. A lot didn't opt for it, hence, you don't see many cabs with original side art.
+dexterro6010 That makes sense to me. You probably know, but a similar thing happened with the Atari cabaret cabinets, you could get side art for them but you had to order it seperately (it may have been free, though)...
By the time Frogger was featured on Seinfeld, it was already for nostalgic's sake. Younger generations would probably think they came out at about the same time. A lot changed in the 10 years or so that Frogger had come out from when it was on Seinfeld. I wonder how often we do that as adults looking back at before we were born?
I think they should make the side art a little faded. You'd rarely find a game in original mint condition, so why do they make the side art probably better than new?
You know how it goes, some people want them looking brand new even though the game never looked like that, and the rest of the cabinet doesn't really look like that :) Same thing with collector cars.
Question. Do you have infinite lives in Frogger? I have a Frogger arcade at my Dad’s house I love to play (Current Hoghscore 75570). Anyways I receive an extra live at getting 20,000 points but never again after that point. Is it because of how my arcade is set up? I start with 5 lives. Thank you
Hello! Big fan of your channel. I absolutely love Frogger, so much so I went out a bought a frogger machine off eBay. We’ve had it for a week and it’s loads of fun. It’s a little beat up, but has 100% original parts. My question is we’ve found the joystick to be a little stiff. Now I read online that’s how it always was, but I don’t have a comparison to back up that claim. I you opinion was the original joystick stiff? If not any recommendations to fix mine. Thank you and god bless
On Frogger yes it was a little stiff, the originals I believe have WICO 4 way leaf switch joysticks, there is a rubber grommet in there that controls how hard it is to push the joystick one way or the other, and the weight of the rubber is what determines how hard it is to press.

If you're in North Georgia, drive up to Rock Hill and buy this one :)

Very cool Sylvia, maybe this is your machine that made it all the way down here? :)
This game is a classic. Ive never played an original. I have the Sega Genesis version of the game.
The ports are all very faithful to the original but there's nothing like the arcade cabinet :)

That makes sense!
Joe's Classic Video Games love the videos by the way I am a new sub
Cool man, thanks for watching!
LEGENDARY FROGGER!!
“He looks like a frog”
“So do you”
Actually this is Konami's game, Sega licensed it for arcade release though.

+LyonsArcade that's a beautiful Frogger!

@@LyonsArcade Frogger is a little bit more about my time I was born in 2000 in that game came out in 1981
So here's the million dollar question for you. Would George actually have lost his high score if the machine lost power?
Thanks for sharing! 🐸
Thanks for watching, Joe!

Wow it's amazing you found one that is still in tact dont sell it these are hard to find
Such a sweet game....
Konami Developed this game and sega published it so thats why you see the sega logo. My dad was born in 1978. So hes way older than frogger.
how much would one of these sell for?
If it's very nice and has a rebuilt monitor, nice artwork, etc. $1499
41 anniversary of frogger
"Game over" Kramer voice
LOL we still get tons of comments about that episode...

I have an original never changed & been stored. How much is it worth today?
It depends on if it works well, etc. but probably around $800

I believe that is normal. There may be a dipswitch setting to make it get more lives though.

Have we been wrong about Frogger the entire time?
no it's not from seinfeld. The exterior says something else
