I really like having various aviation related companies seamlessly built right into the sim itself. With jobs ranging from search and rescue, firefighting and sight seeing tours, this gives you a lot of variety of gameplay. There are however a few thing that I liked better about Airhauler. For instance it gave the ability to import ANY add-on aircraft into your company such as my all-time favorite C130 Hercules. In the new sim you can only use aircraft that have been specially tweaked for use in the career mode by the creators of each aircraft and I don't see Captain Sim updating the Herky-bird just for that. Also, Airhauler gave me a much better feeling of owning a "company". There were monthly bills to pay and landing charges. I also liked how Airhauler would only generate jobs around the locations where you have a company set up. If you wanted to fly in another part of the world, you would have to open an office there. In the new sim it simply generates jobs wherever you happen to land, this results in randomly meandering around the map with no real sense of having a home-base at all. Either way, I'm having fun and that's what counts.
You can also increase the sim rate, don't skip and make the flight go by quickly.
