or you hear music once a year or never toutched anything made by nakamichi ,i spent a lot of money on a complete system in early 90´s and i had to sell it all fast before i got stucked with it
nice profile photo , like in soviet union health was a service of the state or free, or heroin was the best in comunist countries,i tried but nakamichi wouldn´t allow me to have a system developed by them ,i really tried but i have turntables since 1974 working and the dragon turntable only worked the first 5 monthes as it should ,the dragon cassette deck a friend told me "this are not like old 1982 ones they improved it" so i bought a second one in 94 and have to admit it was the same well engeniered but built from the cheapest materials they could find as the plastic if a litle better it could last at least for 5 years but no, the STASIS power amplifiers were really the best and it´s pre but they start releasing the stasis mkII and the engenier who created them put nakamichi in court of law for selling cheap amplifiers with his product name associated to him, i was also misled by this horrible brand ,good for rich people who never hear music or maybe once every two years in christmas, those are the nakamichi target

I remember walking into the stereo shop in the mall and a friend that worked there wanted me to look at a new cassette deck they just got in.. it was this same model Nakamichi.. I was blown away to say the least..I was seriously considering purchasing it until he told me the price.. I could get a good used car for the price of this deck..I knew if my parents found out what I paid for it, I would never hear the end of the matter.. I did finally purchase a Nakamichi deck but I got the 480, which was a far cry from this machine.. Would love to find one in this condition.. thx for posting...
Yes, but please bear in mind: this one was made with a bit of irony. In the era when many Japanese companies were literally at war to deliver best possible sound quality, no matter the cost. Many examples. It was an information/ego war as well. And then, Nero Nakamichi just buried them all with this one. 24 carat gold front. It's actually one of the best piss takes I have encountered in any engineering/marketing war in history. And, of course, no cassettedeck has ever surpassed or equalled the sound of the 1000ZXL. This deck beats many high end reel to reel decks hands down. By the way, a similar war was going on with turntables at the time. Nero did a similar piss take back then, maybe not as good as with the 1000ZXL Ltd, but the TX-1000 remains an incredible turntable with features no other turntable manufacturer has ever accomplished.

I had it for years & still sold it for £500. And that was many years ago. I would love to hear this beast in person. I'm in to my music & components, speakers etc. I can't think of much today that would compete with the workmanship, other than maybe, Burmester, D agastino. I mean for sheer bulk and quality not craftsmanship like nagra or kondo ongaku. Or such like. 👍😁
@@michaeljones19731 Cheers ;-) About 15 years ago - totally addicted to Nak - I owned them all - 1000ZXL, 700ZXL, 700ZXE, ZX-9, 680ZX, Dragon, CR-7... The ZXL/ZXE models and ZX-9 have more soul soundwise than the Dragon or CR-7. The autoplayback azimuth on the Dragon the only reason why I would get it again, but in terms of sound I've never heard anything like the ZXL/ZXE and ZX-9. Out of this world. Used to play my music through a Nak recording on tape monitor all the time ;-)
@@patrickdokter3614 maybe you live in a region that it´s cold all year around because i´ve had all systems since mid 70´s till the 90´s and they were far from being the best or cassette deck compared to the higher end model of any known brand and i have a lot of nakamichi componets and decks ,the bx-2 is maybe the best they ever built the 1000 wasn´t close to the CT-F1000 from pioneer neither all decks released till early 80´s like the dragon compared to the CT-F1250 and this 1000zxl is not close to any pioneer high-end deck from late 80´s to early 90´s,or a mitsubishi or a akai or a proton or a teac,etc. but if one had to choose which were the best decks ever built it would be the late 70´s phase linear and the revox b215. If talking about turntables either the Tx-1000 or the dragon are examples of what a turntable shouldn´t be ,i have technics turntables working for more than 50 years and still waiting for them to go bad while this two nakamichi´s were really nice but at the end of only 5 monthes they started to fail, maybe because i hear music everyday when i´m at home but i did repent of buying any of them

Objectively: not much, if anything. The build quality on the Nakamichi probably tops even that of the Revox. Plus, it is a milestone in HiFi history. And it is gorgeous to look at. But if you just want good sound from cassettes, you'd be better off just getting a Nakamichi Dragon or a Pioneer CT95.
Just try not even 1000ZXL, I think that 660ZX or LX-5 is enough to (compare) understand what is Nakamichi sound. Any Sony highest deck is not compareble withthe lowerst Naks models. The sound of B215 is European sound. It means that it will be more monitored and dried up sound. The only right way to compare is to compare by yourself.! Good luck!

That's really cool. I never knew it came with a dust cover and this is the first time I've seen it. I had a Nak Dragon back in the day and I still have the cassette it came with. I don't think mine came interconnects, but I don't really remember.

In both versions of 1000ZXL and 1000ZXL Limited there is only one Dolby B system. In nowdays there is no need for any noise reduction system. We record from vinyl or from digital sources and we do not need to fight with noise. Therefore, any NR system is an obstacle to a transparent sound. I have all the Nakamichi noise reduction systems: NR-100, NR-200, Nigh Com II. And there is no need in any of them.

Bad luck to you Julian! I have a bad news to you. Break of the playback head. Only replacement of the head is required. Also it is necessary to replace all orange capasitors. Even if you think what everything is all right with transport, it should be cleaned and relubricated, and also it is necessary to replace all belts and idler. General setup of the device is necessary too! Only after that it is possible to listen to it. You'll not able to find a new playback head. You need a donor. Not from 4xx or 5xx or 6xx series or LX. 6000 new in 81 and 80 , i have a nac but not that one , there are a lot of assholes that find the zxl 1000 at the trashcan or a garage sale and they think they can get 5000 , no way , i would pay 6000 for a model like this but no more you have to restore many parts and caps in an almost 40 year old unit

Я имел в середине 90-х Наком ДР2 и Сони=Д8088ЕС Наком был крут-на воспроизведении нормали на порядок=давал разделение каналов...\Далее прикупил ДАТ=я сразу продал Соньку и ДР2=просчто смешно их сравнивать!Клгда все писали с лазерных дисков!
Jealousy showing a lit maybe David Butler? The BX-300 is certainly a good deck, but doesn't ( couldn't) reach the same levels as the those decks of a higher quality on a higher level, such as the Dragon. Speaking in terms of sonic performance, there another level above the Dragon; ZX-9, 700 series, but the 1000zxl unequivocable trumps them all.

Сам держу и не продаю катушечник купленный в 91 году, кассетная дека стоит на шкафу замотанная в полиэтилен, но сейчас слушать это - полный идиотизм. Это старая рухлядь, уступающая современным аппаратам на порядок. Индикатор правда ничего, наверно самый лучший из кассетных аппаратов.
Видео снято для товарища, он просил с крышкой... Сперва послушай как играет Накамичи, хотя бы 582 или ZX-7, потом пиши. Видать, катушечник у тебя Акай, дека ПионЭр, это все равно, что ездить на Дэу или на ВАЗе совковом. Накамичи - это МАШИНА премиум класса, как БМВ или Мерседес, а 1000ZXL вообще услышать и увидеть дано не каждому!!!
Знаешь, дружок, хорошо, хочешь на на "ты", давай на "ты, хотя я с тобой, ну явно, баранов не пас. Любишь понтить, дам совет - понти с теми, с кем знаком, и на кого столь дешёвый понт может произвести впечатление, а с другими это может оказаться смешным. Дальше о моих аппаратах - катушечник Олимп 005, куплен новым в 91 году за двойной ценник с рук, четыре года назад прошедший в Кирове полное Т.О. с некоторыми дополнениями в виде 38-й скорости и кое-чем ещё, тогда-же у меня уже был AKAI GX9, купленный за 40000 рублей, на тот момент это была цена двух почти новых шестёрок или семёрок жигулей, и тогда-же в салоне Накамичи ещё можно было купить новый Дракон, стоил он 2300 долларов ( плюс-минус, точно не помню уже) мог купить и его, поскольку приблизительно столько я зарабатывал тогда в неделю, но мне нравился именно Акай. Дека на шкафу A&D 9100, но это мой личный выбор, хотя я могу позволить себе вообще любой аппарат. И кстати кое-кто из авторитетных людей устраивал слепые послушивания многих дек верхнего уровня, так вот 9100 был поставлен практически на один уровень с Накамичи CR 7, и именно CR7 я возможно поставил-бы сейчас в свою стойку рядом с A&D, но ещё раз повторюсь - их время 30 лет как ушло и сейчас это анахронизм. А ты, любезный, хоть раз делал измерение АЧХ при рабочем уровне 0 db на этих своих любимых "чудо"-аппаратах? Может поделишься со своими подписчиками на скольких килогерцах уже начинается завал АЧХ? 😀 Теперь о машинах - мне сейчас 50, первый Мерседес CL600 у меня был в 30 лет ( я говорю о новой машине из салона), потом шестисотых было ещё несколько, а так-же других сверхдорогих и заказных машин. Ещё была автомобильная система соревновательного уровня, причём построенная по моему проекту, но руками самой известной в городе установочной студии. Работы с ней велись коллективом из 5 человек 5 недель, ну а в гостиной у меня аудио-видео система, которая стоила на момент покупки около 200000 долларов США, это было достаточно для моего вкуса и потребностей, хотя и здесь я мог себе позволить заплатить гораздо большие деньги. Слушал я и комплекты стереосистем своих друзей, стоимостью в районе 600-700 тысяч евро. Ну и напоследок хочу сказать, что с моим мнением в аудиотехнике считались даже признанные самые авторитетные эксперты в области автомобильной и домашней аудиотехники. Ну а ты любишь коллекционировать старьё - коллекционируй. Если кассетные деки из семидесятых годов были-бы такими ох...нными, как ты тут вещаешь, то они и сейчас стояли-бы на студиях звукозаписи, но почему-то это не так... Мне кажется, что ты и так знаешь это, но для некоторых индивидумов выгодно дуть в уши не особо грамотным в аудиомире людям про превосходство вот этих золотых Накамичи и прочей старой хрени, а делается это для того, чтобы "впаривать" это Г по 4-6000 долларов. На этом вы и живёте. Да, знаток крутых машин и магнитофонов?

Well, if Nakamichi is not the best decks, then listen to Akai or Sony. If you cannot repair and set up any Nak, contact someone who will professionaly help you. And after service compare Nak with other brands again!

Видео снято не для оценки звучания, а показан редчайший аппарат, который в начале 80-х годов стоил дороже, чем Фольксваген Пассат. Через мои руки прошли ТРИ 1000ZXL Limited. Уверен, что Вы никогда не видели этот аппарат вживую. Так посмотрите хотя бы в моем видео. Когда разберетесь в форматах и их возможностях, когда разберетесь в звучании форматов что звучит, а что нет, тогда и будете советы давать. А безграмотность читать просто противно...

That's really cool. I never knew it came with a dust cover and this is the first time I've seen it. I had a Nak Dragon back in the day and I still have the cassette it came with. I don't think mine came interconnects, but I don't really remember.

In nowdays there is no need for any noise reduction system. We record from vinyl or from digital sources and we do not need to fight with noise. Therefore, any NR system is an obstacle to a transparent sound.
I have all the Nakamichi noise reduction systems: NR-100, NR-200, Nigh Com II. And there is no need in any of them.

You'll not able to find a new playback head. You need a donor. Not from 4xx or 5xx or 6xx series or LX. Better from 505 or 681(2) minimum. I am not sure that such list of service actions will cost you in $500. Even not in $1000.

6000 new in 81 and 80 , i have a nac but not that one , there are a lot of assholes that find the zxl 1000 at the trashcan or a garage sale and they think they can get 5000 , no way , i would pay 6000 for a model like this but no more you have to restore many parts and caps in an almost 40 year old unit

Я имел в середине 90-х Наком ДР2 и Сони=Д8088ЕС Наком был крут-на воспроизведении нормали на порядок=давал разделение каналов...\Далее прикупил ДАТ=я сразу продал Соньку и ДР2=просчто смешно их сравнивать!Клгда все писали с лазерных дисков!

Nakamichi does not have poor sounding decks.
Every model has its personal character and personal shade of sounding.
Jealousy showing a lit maybe David Butler? The BX-300 is certainly a good deck, but doesn't ( couldn't) reach the same levels as the those decks of a higher quality on a higher level, such as the Dragon. Speaking in terms of sonic performance, there another level above the Dragon; ZX-9, 700 series, but the 1000zxl unequivocable trumps them all.
Из ролика очевидны три вещи: 1- Nakamichi 1000ZXL очень большой. 2- Качество звука по ролику оценить не возможно. 3 - Фотоаппарат Canon ни хрена не умеет фокусироваться.
1. Эта модель создавалась для того, чтобы выдавить максимум из формата компакт кассеты и на габариты не обращали внимания.. 2- Слушать звучание по RUclips это все равно, что оценивать запах от еды на компьютере. 3- Я снимал видео для товарища, по его просьбе. Качество видео оказалось никудышным, согласен.
Если Вам удастся послушать как звучит этот аппарат вживую, то считайте, что Вам повезло.

I like the rack mount handles but the rest of it to me is ugly. I'd rather have a silver CR-7A
CR-7 is the very nice sounding deck among Nakamichi's model line, but it doesn't sound as 1000 ZXL

Нафига на видео ставить на него крышку, чтобы нихрена не видно было? А вообще говняшка редкостная по нынешним временам. Сам держу и не продаю катушечник купленный в 91 году, кассетная дека стоит на шкафу замотанная в полиэтилен, но сейчас слушать это - полный идиотизм. Это старая рухлядь, уступающая современным аппаратам на порядок. Индикатор правда ничего, наверно самый лучший из кассетных аппаратов.

Сперва послушай как играет Накамичи, хотя бы 582 или ZX-7, потом пиши. Видать, катушечник у тебя Акай, дека ПионЭр, это все равно, что ездить на Дэу или на ВАЗе совковом.
Накамичи - это МАШИНА премиум класса, как БМВ или Мерседес, а 1000ZXL вообще услышать и увидеть дано не каждому!!!
Знаешь, дружок, хорошо, хочешь на на "ты", давай на "ты, хотя я с тобой, ну явно, баранов не пас. Любишь понтить, дам совет - понти с теми, с кем знаком, и на кого столь дешёвый понт может произвести впечатление, а с другими это может оказаться смешным. Дальше о моих аппаратах - катушечник Олимп 005, куплен новым в 91 году за двойной ценник с рук, четыре года назад прошедший в Кирове полное Т.О. с некоторыми дополнениями в виде 38-й скорости и кое-чем ещё, тогда-же у меня уже был AKAI GX9, купленный за 40000 рублей, на тот момент это была цена двух почти новых шестёрок или семёрок жигулей, и тогда-же в салоне Накамичи ещё можно было купить новый Дракон, стоил он 2300 долларов ( плюс-минус, точно не помню уже) мог купить и его, поскольку приблизительно столько я зарабатывал тогда в неделю, но мне нравился именно Акай. Дека на шкафу A&D 9100, но это мой личный выбор, хотя я могу позволить себе вообще любой аппарат. И кстати кое-кто из авторитетных людей устраивал слепые послушивания многих дек верхнего уровня, так вот 9100 был поставлен практически на один уровень с Накамичи CR 7, и именно CR7 я возможно поставил-бы сейчас в свою стойку рядом с A&D, но ещё раз повторюсь - их время 30 лет как ушло и сейчас это анахронизм. А ты, любезный, хоть раз делал измерение АЧХ при рабочем уровне 0 db на этих своих любимых "чудо"-аппаратах? Может поделишься со своими подписчиками на скольких килогерцах уже начинается завал АЧХ? 😀 Теперь о машинах - мне сейчас 50, первый Мерседес CL600 у меня был в 30 лет ( я говорю о новой машине из салона), потом шестисотых было ещё несколько, а так-же других сверхдорогих и заказных машин. Ещё была автомобильная система соревновательного уровня, причём построенная по моему проекту, но руками самой известной в городе установочной студии. Работы с ней велись коллективом из 5 человек 5 недель, ну а в гостиной у меня аудио-видео система, которая стоила на момент покупки около 200000 долларов США, это было достаточно для моего вкуса и потребностей, хотя и здесь я мог себе позволить заплатить гораздо большие деньги. Слушал я и комплекты стереосистем своих друзей, стоимостью в районе 600-700 тысяч евро. Ну и напоследок хочу сказать, что с моим мнением в аудиотехнике считались даже признанные самые авторитетные эксперты в области автомобильной и домашней аудиотехники. Ну а ты любишь коллекционировать старьё - коллекционируй. Если кассетные деки из семидесятых годов были-бы такими ох...нными, как ты тут вещаешь, то они и сейчас стояли-бы на студиях звукозаписи, но почему-то это не так... Мне кажется, что ты и так знаешь это, но для некоторых индивидумов выгодно дуть в уши не особо грамотным в аудиомире людям про превосходство вот этих золотых Накамичи и прочей старой хрени, а делается это для того, чтобы "впаривать" это Г по 4-6000 долларов. На этом вы и живёте. Да, знаток крутых машин и магнитофонов?

Well, if Nakamichi is not the best decks, then listen to Akai or Sony.
If you cannot repair and set up any Nak, contact someone who will professionaly help you.
And after service compare Nak with other brands again!

Видео снято не для оценки звучания, а показан редчайший аппарат, который в начале 80-х годов стоил дороже, чем Фольксваген Пассат. Через мои руки прошли ТРИ 1000ZXL Limited. Уверен, что Вы никогда не видели этот аппарат вживую. Так посмотрите хотя бы в моем видео.
Когда разберетесь в форматах и их возможностях, когда разберетесь в звучании форматов что звучит, а что нет, тогда и будете советы давать.
А безграмотность читать просто противно...
Слушай- то на что денег хватило . Каждому свое! Кому стример за копейки а кому редчайший аппарат .
Просто человек дремуч и не слышал никогда качественной записи любого формата.Наверняка,слушает Лепса с Газмановым.И его небольшой мозг,отказывается понимать всё то,что сложнее балалайки в авто.
