Nakamichi 1000ZXL calibration and playback only. This unit is in collectable cosmetic and technical condition. This is the 23rd Nakamichi 1000ZXL which have passed through my hands amoung more than 300 Nak models. Service was executed as always by DJFirst.

my father passed away last year and one of the things i didn´t knew he had was this nice looking decks but playing or recording it´s the worse i ever had and i had 47 cassette decks now because i was told it was an excessive number of decks i started to sell them and i only have 45 now because of some i received from my father but i had only 36 when he passed away, nakaMICHI SELLS REAL GARBAGE AND I PITTY THE ONES WHO MAKE AN EFFORD TO BUY THEM HIGH-END DECKS(SORRY FOR THE CAPS LOCK )even a mitsubishi i received maybe from the same year of the release of the dragon is far superior ,1982, but i have it near my main system ina living room like a biblôt ,i don´t say they are not good but if afordable would be a nice starter deck, this one fails a lot of tests with only the first 3 pioneer´s i compared them, a CT-F1250 ,a CT-959 and a CT-93(urushi)and i´ve owned two dragons ,a CR-7a ,a ZX-9 ,a 1000 ,a 680zx ,a BX-2(the best ever released by nakamichi) a RX-505 and i think it´s really the best ,the cassette deck 1,only got rid of the dragons
I think that one serviced Nakamichi 1000ZXL is much much better than all your 45 decs.
@@sergeyshevchuk3412 keep dreaming and make yourself any test i wouldn´t know if i hadn´t seen the diferent measures ,i have the best naskamichi decks that were released so i´m loosing not you that might not know what a nakamichi deck is ,i am not a child anymore ,test them if you have access to them, in sound it´s the first thing you´ll notice with diferent cassette types, this with restored to new ,that´s the only way for you to know

@shevchuk3412you have to refer to which ,i have also the regular 1000ZXL and the sppecial edition in gold ,so wich is the one you refer?i have now 45 because i have since 1974 till today all top end models from nakamichi all working perfect ,they belonged to my father ,i myself had a 700ZXL, 680,ZX and the dragon(sold) also the BX-2 and recentelly i bought closed in the box a DR-10,i think it´s the last they released , but people forget that this are very old decks but i have very good decks from late 70´s, but they need some restoring to work at 100%, 8 are nakamichi of those 45 ,and not knowing what i have how do you know which is best, it seems the cassette is a new thing to you ,i used cassettes for 48 years , no wonder that you don´t know what you´re talking about , ,if well restored it´s a good deck but far from being the best ,i can´t even say how many decks were far superior to the 1000ZXL but not saying it isn´t good but not the best, as the Dragon ,people try them once and it´s spectacular but if they owned one they would know that it´s a very good deck in the first days or if you´re an expert in cassettes it will work for monthes perfect but if in a hot country like Portugal or Spain is better not to use it in those 5 monthes of hot weather , and when released one would listen more to cassettes than any other source so it was a bit strange they built it with the cheapest plastic parts they could find , Sony did the same at the time, normally starts with a very heardable vibration in the sound played or recorded there i use to, put the auto-reverse off so it didn´t put the reading/recording system always looking for the perfect azimuth this again was built in plastic but not good plastic, i have a pioneer and a TEAC around the same years or 1982 ,those are incredible good and are flat recorders, even in the 90´s there were only a few close to them as an example the cassette deck1 from nakamichi who i found it very good, but being told they had inproved the Dragon i bought one again, this time having the most possible care with it ,only using one well built cassette ,the C60 TDK AR type I, and it lasted 3 years but from june to november i never play there any cassette, the 1000ZXL is better than the Dragon without a doubt but not the best in the world,and far from it,if i had to choose one i would keep the B215 from Revox

I remember walking into the stereo shop in the mall and a friend that worked there wanted me to look at a new cassette deck they just got in.. it was this same model Nakamichi.. I was blown away to say the least..I was seriously considering purchasing it until he told me the price.. I could get a good used car for the price of this deck..I knew if my parents found out what I paid for it, I would never hear the end of the matter.. I did finally purchase a Nakamichi deck but I got the 480, which was a far cry from this machine.. Would love to find one in this condition.. thx for posting...

What a beautiful machine 😍 and kudos for keeping cassettes alive. I really hope you had that dreaded electrolytic cap on the VU meter board replaced. The one Nakamichi fed 24V across but was only rated at 16V. It exploded in a lot of ZXLs and left its residue all over the deck, including the level sliders and even the motors in the mechanism.
0:10 chrome tape (II), 3:14 metal tape (IV). You'll have to win the lotto in order to own a deck like this.
Did you have the opportunity to compare with Tandberg TCD 910?
I compared Nakamichi with different brands including BIC, Tandberg, Studer, Revox. 1000ZXL limited, like 1000ZXL and Dragon - these are the best decks from Nakamichi. My friend has a Tandberg 3004, this model is better than 910. So 3004 plays worse even than RX-505 or 682ZX. By the term "worse," I mean that Nakamichi plays closest to the original, that is vinyl as a source, of course.
