Great place to start not only the indigenous should be doing this even the Australian kids. Open there eyes to culture and the love of rugby Kia Kaha 💪🏼
Modich- DEADLY Bro I hope you have a rising career in rugby union, stay strong in your culture and those Polynesian boys will definitely look after you my friend. Kiaora tatau o te whanau.
He's going to come back blacker. He'll be able to Haka and do his own cultural expression. It gets serious at college level in NZ. The Rugby and the Haka wherever you come from. You'll feel the Wairua (spirit) straight away. It will enhance what you were born with. NZ is honoured to have such a great culture grace its Rugby grounds. You watch college Rugby haka in NZ. You'll know what to expect. Watch out for those Maori and Islander girls too. They can fight like a bloke. 😂🤣. All the best bro and God speed 🙏💪👏👊😎🇳🇿🇦🇺
Hope he has a great experience there and enjoys the rugby and education. Love the mums passion for her kids future. For the record there are plenty of pacifica and aboriginal kids playing rugby at all the big schools in Syd and Brisbane. Most of them head to the NRL where they get paid young. So that part of the story seems off.
That’s the problem. Aru is so focused on keeping rugby private only where as other countries allow private and public schools play rugby. Only way for public schools to play rugby is to join a union club. They need to expand it to public schools otherwise the talent pool will remain limited or will venture overseas.
Love his pounamu! You will be well looked after with the Maori and Polynesian boy's and whanau in Rotovegas! Cant wait to have you on our shores and all the best for your future endeavours in rugby! Hopefully youll become a future All Black instead of a Wallaby😂😂
This rings a bell with me, my nephew who's of Indigenous/Torres Strait Islander went to play in NZ for a season and he didn't want to come back to Oz so his Mum had to go across the ditch to bring him home 😂 he was enjoying himself too much 💙🌿
Being an Old boy of Rotorua Boys' , this young lads got himself into one of New Zealands premier rugby nursery. The school places emphasis on culture and sport having a balance would put him in good stead. He wouldn't feel lost. All the best young man the world is your oyster.
That's awesome to see, it just shows how poorly aus rugby is run and results are proving. They need to do more in the country if they want to get a stronger base ARU but with they way they think with all that posh school thinking I don't ever see ARU ever getting good because your best players come from the more down to earth area the poorer areas where they play harder and drive harder for success. Reason SA and NZ are so successful on the world stage. The players come from much more poorer back grounds and have more hunger for success which creates tougher competition from with in and it means standards are driven higher.
Good luck on your journey you got the motivation and you have your mummas support and Rotorua High/NZ will blood you to make your dream come true! Stay focused you got this🏆💯🙏
As an Australian I can say he's better of becoming a New Zealand citizen and playing for the All Blacks. 99% of Australians couldn't care less about Rugby Union. They also couldn't care less about protecting indigenous culture apart from being forced to be WOKE out of fear that you might lose votes being called a racist. There are more Chinese and Indians living here then there are Aboriginals. Hence Chinese new year is bigger here then any indigenous recognitions.
Under the current NZRU laws if he plays for a NPC and or NZ Super Rugby team he’ll be eligible to play for NZ. First Australian Aboriginal Allblack! Ka mete!
Had a guy from sydney come over when i was at school. His nickname was obviously ozzy. He didnt come for rugby but he enjoyed his time. Had boys from nauru, the Solomons, even china. Was a maori boarding school so culture and rugby were of the highest priorities.
This is fantastic for the young man! And even more props need to be given to his mother for this as well! Culture is key! It is unfortunate it is recognised more here in Aus… All the best for this young man and his family in all their future endeavours!!
We going to train him up really well through the system. And with australia rugby now in good coaching hands he would want to go back and rip up for them too. We need australia rugby to be in a good place for world rugby to be in a good place
All the best young man.. New Zealand will help you in your cultural journey for sure. To learn from Maori and to see how you fit in to the world will be a good thing. Nothing wrong with seeing the world and trying new experiences so you can learn from a wide range of people. Expand your horizons..
All the best Caleb.🎉❤🎉 Look forward to you donning the greeen and gold. And yes in terms of rugby growth and culture. NZ is the best place to go to. Pacifica intergration programs for Boys and Girls looking to pursue a rugby career is very good. Good choice❤❤❤
Honestly if he's good I hope he plays for Aussie. They need him more than we do and he's Australian so seems right. Love him coming over and going for it though. Whatever he decides tautoko
