- BABYMETAL - THE OTHER ONE Album Reaction: Time Wave & Believing first time reaction! Today I'm reacting to more of BABYMETAL's new triumph of an album, and I come across what is possibly my favourite of the whole thing! This album is a no skip masterpiece and I cannot deal. 🙌🦊

Time Wave is my favourite track from the album, but I love all songs from it.

The moment I heard that vocaloid (Hatsune Miku) style i knew Yuyoyuppe (aka YuppeMetal) was behind this song which also reminds me to Kagerou, and no wonder why, he's the one behind that song too and he gives that BM style unique sound in songs like Karate, Rondo Of Nightmare, Megitsune and Monochrome recently. MoaMetal is also a fan of his work despite the ridiculous time signatures that torture them lol
We also got the first full English lyrics of this new album after a while and the first time released in Japan. They already got three songs entirely in English but those were released internationally.
This was written and recorded 5 years ago and you can even hear a more childish vocals. Like they said, this is a collaboration between past and present selves, and is about the fact that you don’t see the same thing that others see, the English lyrics express a different personality and pov.

man. yuppe has a thing for weird time signatures, he also likes to match the drums with guitar riffs 😂I got into BM because of him & I'm glad the BM family still works with him.
Great reaction. I heard the snippets they put out before the album was released and I wasn't optimistic for 'Time Wave' - really not my style at all I thought ... the snippets lied, I really like it.
'Believing' is so good as well.

Honestly, I think i hated every snippet I heard so I was pretty worried if I would like the album at all. I ended up LOVING EVERY SONG on this album! As for Metalizm, am I the only one who thinks it was meant to be (or should have been) on the Metal Galaxy album since it has a middle eastern vibe and would have fit in with the other songs with international vibes?
@@emb5091 I didn't hate them all from the snippets, but I didn't think I would love every song either - but it is a great album.
At least one or two of the songs were written some time ago, so it isn't out of the question that METALIZM was one originally intended for Metal Galaxy.
Time Wave was the one surprised me the most because like Grington's comment, it turned my head 180° about the style that I never thought I would enjoy before. It's such a great mood ( *feel it?* ) god those whispers.
Btw someone put full album with lyrics out on youtube already, you can listen while reading lyrics it will bring whole album experience to another level!

Ahhh....these two. These two are bangers in completely different ways, but they share soo many elements! I honestly think that Koba had an edm phase some years back and then decided that he would save up some tracks to fully experiment with sound engineering to use them for. After hearing the full album some (many) times over, the more I realized it's true consistency. I think this could be considered their most...organized? album to date. You can really hear how all the songs (while keeping the BABYMETAL variety) has subtle (and some not so subtle) similarities. Like this vocaloid like effect on the voices in many of the songs...but they really stand out in these two.
As for Time Wave. It's a vibe! I really like the intricacies of all the edm in this. It's not the constant, almost monotonous rhythm you get in a lot of dance music, but it still has a solid base line. And all the synth above that gives this song so much movement! And of course, I can't not mention Su's vocals and Moa's (kinda ad-libby) input. As always...stunning! The chorus is just so...bouncy! I love it.
And then there's Believing. To be honest, it my favorite of the two (I'm the sort that prefers the heavier stuff). But it's the chorus that just does it for me in this one. Not only the blasting vocals, which are so clean and kinda uplifting, but the lyrics in this just...I really like them! The seasons change, you are not the same. The seasons change, we are not the same. Don't forget. I don't know why exactly, but these lyrics really speak to me! And while I didn't know the full lyrics till I just read them in @Jake Muller 's post (thanks very much!), even just the ones that I could understand were enough for me to have an emotional connection to this song! Really love it!
And then! Once again, love your reaction to these! It's great to see someone flip out and gush in the same way I did lol! Looking forward to the next two (I think Metalizm will really throw you for a loop)!

Another great reaction, loving this song with each new listen, the girls love this song too and they can't wait to finish the choreo and show some cool dance moves, hopefully tomorrow will get this live premiere during Fox Day live show at PIA Arena MM.
Everyone was looking for heavier tracks like Mirror Mirror, MAYA or Believing, me i was looking for this, i love progressive trance and this edm mix is so good, i would love to see Armin Van Buuren doing a remix with this song, he did it before for another famous big J-pop artist like Ayumi Hamazaki, so why not, who wouldn't love to dance this in the club or anywhere else?🕺
They already got time travelling theme in songs like Awadama Fever, kinda, but this one is more like a challenge rather than just having fun, and also got the connection with this metalverse.

Great reactions... hope the head is all good. Up until discovering artists like BABYMETAL about 3 years ago, song's like Time Wave definitely would not have appealed to me... how things have changed, I really vibe with Time Wave! As for Believing, it's definitely one of my favourite tracks from the album! That riffage is nasty! Absolutely love it... old me would not have been overly fussed about the use of the vocaloid effect, but the new musically open minded me can appreciate it's use. Nice reactions. Seems at least some of these songs have been in Babymetals back pocket for some time. Makes you wonder what they are working on now. Su had famously held No Rain No Rainbow off an album. How many other songs has Su or Moa held off an album? After Divine Attack came out, I do want more songs written by Su and Moa. After all this time I'm sure they have a lot to say about the world. And they definitely know a lot of folks who can put it to music.

Although I prefer "Believing" (which is actually one of my favorites from THE OTHER ONE) I can't hate "Time Wave". This is what they have been doing since 2010. And, in my opinion, it's so cool that BABYMETAL has a very diverse fanbase. Not to mention I'm not totally unfamiliar with this trance / EDM kind of vibe.
Overall THE OTHER ONE is a very consistent album and I love it.
Well, I'm very excited about what will happen tomorrow (or Sunday) at their next concert. For now, it looks like everyone is freaking out about the BABYMETAL flag without the hearts and the skull... We'll see... 😁

For the record: yes, Momoko Okazaki was named official third member of BABYMETAL at the end of the first concert. And her stage name from now on is MOMOMETAL.
Today she has performed as an official member (mic included) and BABYMETAL is now officially a trio again since late 2017.

Like Grington I did not care for the snippets to Time Wave, but upon listening to it I was 😮. I turned it off and got out my noise cancelling headphones and played it again and I was 😮🤯🤩 so much MORE!! It was quite awhile later I just realized I had listened to Time Wave on repeat no less than 6 times! The beat, the drive, the vocals, the timing, the lyrics... just everything hit every synapse in my brain. I just love it. ❤️
Believing on the other hand, took me awhile to enjoy, but now I really like it. I love Moa's parts and can't wait for a live version of this. The lyrics, to me, suggest that it is BABYMETAL telling us that they as well as us have changed and there is no going back but we must keep believing in the way life is going. (Including maybe their music) We can't just stay in the past.
This album is chefs 👨🍳 kiss 💋 of perfection.

9:47 well, it's not really a direction and I would say: Babymetal have mixed in all kinds of things over the years, including this, but never did a full song like this.
12:45 I think they are like vocaloid (voice synthesizer), or inspired by it, because the song was written by someone who makes metal vocaloid music.
When it comes to Babymetal, as long as it's heavy and melodic and Su-metal I'm a happy guy.
Surprisingly most of these songs are older and actually had a real vacation from Babymetal.
Such an amazing album. I cannot wait to see some live concert videos in the near future. Plus just saw that Momoko (from the Avengers) was chosen as the third member of the group …her new name is now MomoMetal … so congrats to her.

I found myself laughing through this whole album the first few spins
Not because it was funny but because it was so enjoyable
An overwhelming emotional experience i normally don’t experience except rare occasions with new music
