I have been informed he did sign them all so thats mega dope.
He did a lot of livestreams answering questions of the fans while he was signing the books.
I'm wondering why I paid for the autograph if he just signed them all...

Honda Samer you know for a fantasy enthusiast, Daniel's lack of respect for the knife is appalling. Keep the kitchen knife properly stowed and sharp so as to avoid injuries. And please use a foldable sharp knife for day to day package unboxing use! Have a proper holstered hunting knife Bowie style or whatever. Won't be recommending this vid. Totally irresponsible. Not even into the unboxing after that. Saying you were careful with a knife when your actions showed otherwise is "on-brand 2020"

Honestly never been more invested in an unboxing. Spending so much on something and it being worth it is such a relief. Please be careful with the knife. If hand sanitizer can damage the aesthetic of the books, I'm pretty sure blood wouldnt be the best thing to get on them.
Not to mention that HE WILL GET HURT😑

My girlfriend gave me the money to get a signed and numbered edition for my birthday and I've spent the last two days staring at in awe. Its the most beautiful thing I own. My girlfriend's response: "I want our books published like that" Big dreams XD

Having been a Navy Lithographer who did a LOT of book bindery, and having served as an acting Government Printing Officer for over a year at my place of employment, from what I am seeing, that is some super-fine bindery work. I can't speak for the signature stitching and gluing, but the leaf foil, and leather treatment/foiling, that is some superb, high-quality workmanship. Just looking. That 3d embossed foiling is really hard to get right even with modern machinery. It's gorgeous looking at it. Touch IS the only way to tell real quality of bindery in these situations. If Daniel's tactile experience is good ( I noticed he checked his hands for foil residue a couple times), It's worth the price.
Those illuminated plates are absolutely wonderful. Let me say, the work involved with making, trimming and inserting those nicely aligned plates is extremely labor-intensive.
Careful opening the books, folks. There are videos on how to properly open and prepare a now book's spine for reading without cracking it.
Thanks for the advice about breaking in a new book- I had no idea it was something I should do!

I just got mine today too, it would have been impossible to cut the book without significant force. They put two layers of some thick bubble wrap in there

I love the Kaladin art??? He looks BEAUTIFUL. Also love that art of the Parshendi, I've always had trouble visualizing them and that art makes them look so beautiful

A great thing about the art in these books: a decent amount of pieces in the second volume were stellar fanart that Brandon licensed to use in these!
I know the math doesn’t add up but somehow I feel like Daniel could be the kid from the “let me see what you have” “A KNIFE” vine.
ALSO the leather bound editions are absolutely gorgeous holy shit. The exterior is beautiful but I love that there’s so much art inside the book, too.
This actually soothed some of the pain of having been too late to the Kickstarter ... so thank you 🙇♀️

FYI: Brandon did handsign all of these. He did his livestreams signing them. Probably at some point in the future he won’t be able to keep doing that but all the kickstarter ones are handsigned.
so these will be purchasable in the future? Because I was really hoping on getting my hands on one of these but it just isn't really in the cards for me right now.
@@wraithdevourer3613 They said they're gonna do another printing round but probably not until the end of next year. There's like 30,000 of them being made for the Kickstarter alone.

@@wraithdevourer3613 They said that they will try to keep all leatherbounds in stock forever. As in, they’ll reprint them indefinitely (but they can and do go out of stock temporarily). But probably at some point they won’t be able to keep up with signatures anymore.
I bought mine while in the hospital in July recovering from emergency heart surgery. Can't wait to receive. And to read RoW of course.

The map at the end of volume 2 is Shadesmar, which is why most of it is empty (and all the places that are usually land are seas)
It's really nice to see an author really care for how much value the reader gets for the money and really spend time to make this satisfactory to the customer. I'm currently reading the way of kings and I'm enjoying it so far!
Can't wait for them to begin selling these on their website. Being in my final semester of my master's course I couldn't afford the kickstarter but I'll use my first wage to buy one of these bad boys for sure

@@mattymoore6981 I think they discussed it on a recent livestream. They're only now delivering the first batch of books to the people who backed the kickstarter. During the first half of next year they'll begin to send out the second batch, I believe to those who only bought the book or put in late orders during the kickstarter, but I could be wrong. All I know is that all the books who currently have a set delivery date will go to those who have already put in an order. Then I think they said on the livestream that they'll try to put new books on their website some time late next year

I just got my Mistborn Leatherbound last week I plan on getting them all, I must say quality is outstanding, price is high so I got to collect them slowly especially with an additional $50 delivery to get it to Australia

Those books look absolutely gorgeous. I am so hungry to devour the Way of Kings now. Thanks for sharing such a feast for the eyes. Also, I am now 30% into the Fires of Heaven and I am 54% into listening to Warbreaker. Maybe once I get done with that, it will be time for me to dive into the Way of Kings.

I didn't get this as I don't have the money for it but I am glad you liked it! It really is beautiful and I am just happy to see it. I got the Dawnshard package that you could buy later though, it was much more reasonable economically and the shipping to Europe wouldn't be too horrible. I look forward to getting mine! (The shipping for the leatherbound and all the goodies would total to about half the price, and I really wanted some of those goodies, like the playing cards & bookmark etc)

Maybe spoilers? The back "Web art" as you called it. The last one you showed, is of the Void Binding powers. If you notice they connect in a different way. They also have one surge fewer. Just wanted to point that out in case someone wasn't already aware. Great job showing off the amazingly well-done book printing for a wonderfully well-written book.
As someone who has these books, the construction is truly incredible. Like, on par with or above something like a family heirloom bible. They’re so well made, and it totally matches the stormlight archive

Truly a masterpiece. I openly wept at the end of the book. In Sanderson fashion it can be a slightly confusing slow burn initially, but it ramps up quickly and reaches avalanche mode. Just watch out, you might become fascinated by the cosmere and have to read ALL THE BOOKS

That is the windrunner glyph, they will have one glyph for every book, the one with the order that is the focus of this book's flashbacks. Each glyph and order has a fixed colour assigned to it.

AAfter reading most of Brandon's works I just bought the two first books of the stowmlight archive last week. I am now 2/3 done with Way of Kings and I am loving it so far. I love Kaladin and Syl is best girl. Yest I know, not exactly the right genre but I still think so. :-P I have also not warmed up to Shallan so we shall see.
I got mine in on Tuesday and received #7. They look magnificent!
Can't wait for mine to show up - also can't wait for the rest of the series to be released in the same format. If there's going to be a series I want to display on my fancy bookshelf, this is it.

It's so sick I couldn't afford the Kickstart but I did get my hands on a second edition Elantris leather-bound and it is also just awsome.
That was so cool to see him sign these as they showed the multiple pieces of art in the volumes.
Look lovely - awaiting delivery of my copy. Let's hope the foil doesn't rub off as easily as it did for some people with the other Dragonsteel books.

Amazon take note, that’s how you ship a book (books)! Twice Amzon have failed to ship me a copy of the Dune Delux edition (thanks for showing it of on your shelf and letting me notice it!) and both times the dust jacket and spine have been mangled due to being shipped in an oversized box with no padding...

These are absolutely gorgeous. Now I want them. They outdid themselves. If that special edition of The Eye of The World had even added art or something it would have been great.
If product reviews are going to be a regular thing consider getting a 360° swivel turntable, it should minimize the need for manual rotations.
I hope they look in the flesh as good as on video. Payed 553,85 € for the whole thing and still don't know if I have to add another 19% for Taxes....which would make it a whopping 659,08 €
Fantastic review of what is becoming a favorite book of mine. I do love a good art piece book but i dont have the money to make one of those mine. Plus id want to display my artistic books in a common area where guests can see them. I dont have that now either. Nothing wrong with displaying broken in books either.

I think this us the only unboxing video I've ever watched!
I recently got the new 40th anniversary illustrated slipcase edition of Unfinished Tales, and as a long time hardcore Tolkien fan I had a similar reaction. It has illustrations by not one, not two, but three of the best Middle Earth artists: John Howe, Alan Lee, and Ted Nasmith!
The problem I have with these (and the reason I didn't buy) is that while these are great these books are part of a series so without the rest of the series being made in this style I am stuck with a mismatched set of books.
Maybe once the series is done and they make a full set I will be able to get them
