28 years and still the fastest. Looking where the future is going - nothing will beat it. Even it's successor T.50 will be slower - despite having more power and less weight.
Back when EA and NFS actually cared about the cars and the selection of vehicles. so much detail put into showing why each car was special and teaching people about them.
When I was a kid, this was my favourite part of this game. Just browsing the showcases of every car, the gallery, and ofcourse the epic showcase videos. This entire video is what made nine year old me fall head over heels in love with the McLaren F1, a love affair that remains to this day.

My dad bought this game for me when I was 9 years old back in 1997. I was just talking with him about this video being my favorite. The feelings I get when I hear this again, it's indescribable. Art comes in many forms. For me, mine is wrapped up in all things mechanical. Whether it be cars, boats, motorcycles or planes. The beauty of this video showcase is 100% Oscar worthy. Not only because it's extremely badass but also because it's very educational. 90s is where it all started for me. 9 years old and I could think of nothing but one day owning one of these supercars.
It's crazy to hear how these cars came to be and the sacrifice these guys made in order to bring us the pure unadulterated badass machines we see before us. It makes me emotional hearing the story and how amazing the narrator tells the stories and last but certainly not least, the perfection of late 90s trance composed to bring such emotion.
@@MindlessMiles if only Bruce could've seen his dream of the fastest car in the world come to life in 1995. He gave one of the best quotes of our time when his racing teammate Timmy Mayer died during a race. I'll never forget it. It would be a waste of life to do nothing with one's ability, for I feel that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone.”
As much as I love underground and most wanted, the classic Need for speed games are unmatched in terms of game concept, production values, and awesome simcade physics. I'm still hoping for a spiritual successor gameplay wise to the classic Need for speed games, but mostly black boxs Hot pursuit 2, such a masterpiece.
@@tropixx_xlr1549 sadly we will never get that because all these younger fans just want most wanted clones with overdone customization......they don't know what classic NFS was about or how fun it was and still is. Thanks a lot mindlessmiles... love the way you started the video. The quality of this video and audio ...fantastic! Sounds like I'm actually listening to the Showcase Video from Need For Speed 2 SE!!! Loved that game soo much....brings back such awesome childhood memories and thanks to you as well!
