Who's the hot chick in the video
🤣🤣🤣🤣
While true - at first I didn’t think it was an appropriate comment. But I just caught onto the source! Y’all are awesome!
IKR, I’d like to get her number.
(605) 475-6968 !
my dyslexia made me read "who's the hot chip in the video?".....to which I thought "Sun Chips of course!"🤣🤣
Great use of space and some amazing innovation with the soundproofing and air circulation.
Thank you!
Could you please do a video of machine and tool maintenance? Everything looks immaculate!
Great idea! I'm not sure if I'm qualified but I'll throw it on the list.
Excellent video. First saw your soundproofing video and was impressed. Your shop is legittttttt.
Dust collector of that size can never truly be "hidden" lol. Solid shop dude!
Thank you! Yes I tell myself it's hidden but truth is it takes up 1/4 or the shop lol
Awesome shop, i love how you have your drill bits in the draw. Great idea
Thanks Roy! I've been quite happy with it. Everything I've tried in the past never quite worked out for me.
This was super fun, guys! Great job!
I'm at least one or two shops behind you in terms of setup, but I find it so comforting to see you mention things that you have changed your mind over the years or various things you prefer, and that I share so many of the same opinions. Hope you keep making videos, I'll be watchin'!
Thanks for commenting and nice to hear! I remember starting off with just a palm sander... It's a great hobby!
You guys are funny! Keep up the awesome work. You guys are so relatable and your videos inspire me to make my shop optimized.
Thanks Armando! She's the funny one though. I think I need more Linds in these videos lol.
No shame cause the shop is sick, and you and Lindsay are hilarious!!! So good!!
Lol thanks Jordan. She's for sure the funny one.
Great tour, Blake! I am continually impressed by that dust collection setup.
Thanks AJ! It's working great but I get a better solution for my hand power tools. Been making a dust storm lately with my routers...
Super nice shop! Great to see a tour. Keep up the great work on your channel!
Great job with the buildout. Really cool to see the focus on soundproofing!
Thanks Jesse! It really worked better than expected. I can put the kids to bed and go straight downstairs and they can't hear a peep.
Looks like a great setup!
The flow is starting to look good jeep it up !
Just had this show up in my recommendations. Looks good, I'll watch some of your old stuff. Looks like you're living the dream.
Thanks for the support Matthew! I appreciate it.
just got recommended this video, definitely subscribed - now time to binge all the previous videos!
Thanks Logan! Dining table build is about to begin.
Fantastic video Blake! I very much like the new editing / video style.
You have a very clean and slick workshop. I’m looking forward to the Day i have something remotely comparable ;)
Thanks Kristian! Just watched your video and you have quite the arsenal of tools yourself!
Clever ideas mate, I have a smaller shop here in Northern Ireland uk and space is important, I did pick up some great ideas from you, keep up the excellent work, kindest regards Louie
Thanks Louie! Glad I was able to help.
Beautiful shop Blake
Thanks Stephane!
you have an awesome shop. Multiple camera angles was pretty cool to see. Your sounds isolation is impressive. I find the noise goes up a lot when the tool is in operation compared to running bit I'm sure your setup can handle it.
Thanks Evan! Yes, I was thinking that while editing... Never heard it myself but Linds says she still can't hear anything.
Super cool shop man! Looks like a great space to lose yourself for a few hours, awesome!
Thanks Sam! You bet. Kids asleep and burning a few hours down here right now.
Nice tour, awesome that you and your girl did this together. You have a great shop. I have been resisting the festool spell for a very long time, and now that I have the ETS EC150/5 I can say the biggest mistake I made was waiting. It is a slippery slope, I also have a track saw now and a vac coming soon lol.
Hahaha thank you but don't tell me that. I've been trying to tell myself I can just buy one item (sander) and that will be it.
french onion sun chips are life
I'm still all about that harvest cheddar
I’ve got to get thy drill press!!!
I love SunChips
Lol we probably eat them a little too much
Great video..❤
Thank you!
Hey, I had forgotten about this channel ! Nice shop !
Welcome back!
I really enjoyed your shop tour, I will be subbing ad following along for sure!
Thanks you! More content coming :)
Love your videos, hope your channel starts to take off.
Thanks Douglas! Fingers crossed. New video is coming in a few days.
Nice one dude, shops looking so good, was great to watch the build out of it all. Loved the candid style of the video too 🤙🏻
Thanks Sam! It was actually the first cut too. Started as a practice run then half way through we said, let's just use this! Thanks for following along :)
@@BlakePizzey Sweet, sometimes they’re the best kind and it’s so lovely to watch too 🤙🏻
Great shop!
Your mod on the bandsaw is now on my to-do list! I have a 21” Centauro bandsaw and I get a dust shower when using it.
Yes, go for it! It's been working great. I've got to give credit to Rob Cosman for the smaller pipe directly below the table.
@@BlakePizzey I’ll look up his setup as well.
Great content!
A further comment is I’m looking forward to more content from you. Your wife’s support adds a terrific aspect to your woodworking journey. Mine tolerates it and is okay with some of my toys. We’re both engineers (older now) but she doesn’t share my stronger desires to build things.
I’m looking forward to following your journey!
I would like a video all about your shop and tools, but without words and just showing Linsey chilling on the beach.
lol sounds good - you subscribe and share this video and we will see what we can do
Just subbed. I’m a mid career mechanical engineer. I watched 2 other of your videos and i was hooked. Great content. I have a wood shop I’m setting up but not a complete build out like yours. Wow. Amazing setup. Congrats.
I did have a question… have an issue with ducting my dryer. The builder used a very long run and I’m trying to correct it. Do you have a recommendation of what to watch to get ideas? I get lint build up and prob some condensation issues. I live in southern California, so the thermal issues aren’t as harsh as your climate zone.
Great your. Congrats.
After watching your shop tour I feel like I need to spend more time organizing my shop.
Whatever works for you! People thrive in different environments. I'm a little crazy and need everything in its place just to function... Not healthy at times lol.
Please provide info on the floor mat. I'm looking for floor mat for my shop. Excellent work.
Thank you! Check out episode 2 on my channel. The video and description have all the flooring details. Cheers!
Never owned a router lift, so I was contemplating between the Jessem Mast-R-Lift II and Sawstop. Because of this video, I chose the Sawstop because of the mounting. Sawstop uses (2) holes on the sides of the plate, rather than at each corner like every other lift. Didn't want to spend $400+ on the Jessem and have to drill holes.
Yes and good call... It really sucks lol. I have it snugged in there with the set screws and it's quite heavy with a router in it. Don't think it's going anywhere but I sure wish it was secured with some fasteners!
What sander? Festool ets ec 125 or 150... simple. A midi or some other green extractor will round out the set, and then you'll be hooked 😊
Still haven't pulled the trigger on a new sander! I was leaning towards the mirka simply to keep me awhile from the green addiction.
Wow that hair looks incredible! You might have to start looking into hair product sponsorships! Also, nice job on the vid!
lol good call! I'm going to go knocking.
Really enjoying these videos. Are you still making them?
Hi Mark! Thanks for following along. I haven't been to active on RUclips as of late... Life has been hectic but I'm hoping to make some more videos soon. I've done a few side jobs and I'm starting a few more right now. I'm currently building an outfeed table for the table saw and starting a 72" round dining table for a client next. Check me out on instagram in the meantime!
Thank you so much for these videos. I've been planning my own basement woodshop, so to see that you had success soundproofing gives me confidence in doing my own build. When you were taking measurements, I really wanted to see the number on the other side of the shop wall, not just upstairs -- do you have a reading for that?
Sorry but I don't think I do! It's really good though. You can hold a normal conversation with no interruption whatsoever. You need to pay close attention to notice the DC running and jointer running a 12" wide board.
@@BlakePizzey That's awesome, thank you.
What’s the paint color on the walls? Also link to wifeys shirt? Dayum girl.
The bosch GET75-6N is just as good as the rotex for half the price. If you don't want to get sucked into festools platform it's hands down the best.
Good to know! I'm also curious about the Makita BO6050J. Curious why these sanders aren't as popular. I've also being thinking about the Mirka.
Hi! I just discovered your channel, and it's already subbed. Professional video, great shop layout! Just a quick question r/t your Hammer. I just ordered one myself, that's how I found your channel. You mentioned that you increased the dust port size from 5 to 6 inches. How did you accomplish that? Self made hack or is there a third party wider flange available?
Hi Johannes. Congrats on your purchase and thanks for the kind words! I had a HVAC sheet metal supplier build a 5x7 (please confirm) to 6" round transition. Shouldn't cost much and you can fasten with self drilling screws.
Thanks for getting back to me, Blake! If it’s no wider than 7”, I could also easily 3D print it. Still, metal is always cooler than plastic.
First off, can't believe you only have 1.2k subs.... your channel is so good. Production/editing and honestly brilliant setup forethought and implementation. Fellow ME and hobbyist ww. One question, u mention your 7" ducting but the calculations done for your system were less than 7, closer to 6 I believe so u suggested rounding down for max efficiency. Why did u decide to go with 7 if that's the case? Thanks, from Michigan. Keep going with the channel. It's gonna blow up!
Thanks for the kind words! Nice to have some motiviation lol. Summer has been busy but plan to get back at the videos shortly. To answer your question - check out 10:04 in EP18 (duct sizing vid) to see the calcs for my shop. I had calculated 7.4" and rounded down to 7". I hope it's clear there. THANKS FOR WATCHING :)
Oh and definitely a Festool ETS ec 150/5 sander, I know you said you don’t own any Festool gear and I totally understand why but it’s one of the best investment by far that I’ve made for my shop 👊🏻
Too many people are saying this to have no truth behind it! Kinda sucks lol
@@BlakePizzey Haha I know right, sorry? 😝😂
rotex, for a sander. only regret is how long it took me to get one
I don't want to hear this! I'm too scared to buy my first... I imagine it's a slippery slope.
@@BlakePizzey legit if you want to borrow one, send me a PM. I have two, and can spare one for a bit. Sworth it
I'm guessing your day job is your an engineer. I give you credit for only taking that small spot in your basement. I would have wanted the whole basement...:)
You bet and sadly I lost that battle! I tried to take the full 14x21 side that has the two large walk out windows and door. Kids got it...
Shop tours are the most popular videos on most channels
Well we will see! I love them. Let's be honest half the fun is making the space.
@@BlakePizzey Absolutely, making the space is a good time. I enjoy making the space so much I've spent the last few months creating even more space!
Just subscribed, but have been watching your videos for some time. I really dig your shop, and have put the same effort into my garage shop. Like you, I am an engineer by trade, and hobbyist carpenter/woodworker. I would like to share with you my shop, although I don't do YT videos.
Hi Tom! Thanks for subscribing and I would love to see your shop. Do you have an Instagram account?
@@BlakePizzey Just FB. Not fully up with the times. 😅
Let me know if you have any Q's or want more details on something!
When are you going to start making (not shop) projects?
@@GregsWorkshopOregon lol right.... Now! Made a bed for my neighbor this past weekend but didn't film that. Next project to film is a dining room table.
Personal preference, but I think the shots with the second camera are distracting.
not too upset you ,but she is sweet
Haha no offense taken
Should try actually using those tools to make something..... Way to clean for a functioning workshop.
That's the intent! Made a bed already and about to film a dining table build. Stay tuned.
