It is rumoured that sadly Alain Poulin, 58, of Magog (creator of Lepou plugins) passed away 2019 in a motorcycle accident. He was hit by a truck driver who wasn't paying attention. There is an article on the internet somewhere about it. Not much was known about him, there was a few people who tried to contact him about his work Lepou plugins to interview him without success. He was a pioneer of guitar vst's
Great tones and playing. I absolutely love the Valhalla stuff, including their regular reverb. They're amazing not just for guitar but any instrument/voice too. I use it in all aspects of recording.
great video man I really appreciate this and I greatly thank you, you should add some timestamps to the video in case there's some plugins we're already familiar with just to make things a bit more convenient
If I could, i'd give you 10 likes. I already knew a few listed, but the LePou and Ignite plugins changed my mind. Thank you man, greetings from Brazil.
Neural Amp Modeler is absolutely fantastic. It add low, mid, high end without actually mudding or brightening the tone crazy. Its make a wild difference in my tone, specifically with the low end. Adding bass without making it muddy/cloudy and overpowering the high end. You really gotta try it out
7:57 - NICE RUN THROUGH of the amp tones! While your playing skills are top notch, it doesn’t come off like you are just showing off your chops, and instead are actually highlighting the amp tones… which is a really nice change on here. Thank you for doing that!
great video! out of all the guitarists on yt i picked you to subscribe to. you know why? you're not being paid/gifted to offer your advice from a company/product and your advice is awesome. both things go together. lose one and....keep it going you will be at 100's of thousands of subs.
Thank you 👍 I understand why you feel that way. However, to be able to produce a wide amount of content in the long term, It’s impossible to not allow companies to send you gear to check out. It doesn’t mean it will change my opinions but I don’t have unlimited budget to get in new gear all of the time.
@@DanLeggatt well.....just a thought as you become interested in more products to review why not contact the company of a product you are honestly interested in and ask for a loaner to review and send back. another option would be to borrow the product from someone to review it. it's very difficult to stay unbiased when things are offered for free or there is a form a payment/service offered, but this would be up to you.
Thanks for the recommendations, they're really great. Do you know how to get the Wampler Terraform today? I went to their website but I couldn't find anything. Also, do you have any recommendations for a optical style compressor plugin?
Loved this man...you are amazing player...And about the plugins I loved the sound of valhalla...incredible sound. Well. Thanks again from Pune City, India.
Very cool video and nice chops !!! You should mention ikmultimedia great stuff ! And you get with the free version 4 amps and some fx plus the ability to trial some Really Awesome other amps for 14 days I believe , and what's cool by the time you get done trying out all the amps it usually will update about every few months and you can start all over . Also valhalla stuff is incredible !!!

Wow this is all new to me I gotta find an interfacee but Ive got a decent speaker systrem sort of DJ set up but Ive had a lot of amps n equipment in the past including Vox n Marshal and also recently purchased a fender rumble 40 a biut expensive but weighs 15 lbs w ten inch speaker sounds pretty decent Id gig it if I had to! But access to alot of experimentation here for low or little money Im liking this. I think the days of massive equipment are over n still get a good sound is whats important. I have seen this before years ago but I couldnt make it work some type of recording software wasnt really developed yet Id say late 90's Now it looks much more interesting! two thumbs up on your info thanks James D from North Dakota USA
impulses are recordings of amps playing every hearable frequency. The software then tries to make your recording the same as the impulse making it sound like the og amp
Was looking for a Univibe for a long while and stumbled on your excellent video, many thanks for sharing Wampler! As for other great plugins, the new Pecheneg TremWah is definitely worth a listen imo. Sadly for me, AU only at the moment.... Also, as much as I've been disappointed in NI Guitar Rig over the years, their latest freebie is actually quite good imo for those looking for a JCM type.
the ignite emmisary is reallllly really high gain.. but not in a great way... takes some tinkering.. so its kind of odd.. but I dig it.. amplitude is better.. more options.. more controll.. and just better sounding.. but yea i dont hate free stuf.. just my opnion..
The video was so useful.. I'm a beginner guitar player. when I record my audio there is too much-humming sound, can you please show to remove the noise after recording.
anime360 You can potentially make it less noticeable using a noise gate plugin after recording. Really though, you want to cut the humming before recording. Ideally don’t sit in front of your computer with the guitar facing the screen while tracking. The computer will create noise. Dimmer switches and certain other lights can also cause interference. Make sure you are using a good quality cable from your guitar. If you are using single coil pickups the hum will be there regardless, especially for settings with a lot of gain. You could try running a noise gate pedal before your interface or a plugin at the time of recording to reduce hum in the gaps of your playing. Hope you get the results you want. Thanks for watching 👍
Thank you 👍 Umm I’m pretty sure a lot have compatibility with most DAW’s. I’m afraid I have no idea about running on Linux as I’ve never had a machine that runs it, sorry.
From memory and listening to the tone I think it was the NNR1 preamp, the power amp model and the greenback IR talked about near the start of the vid. The FX plug-in would have been placed post cab 👍
That's a spit-clean, expensive- looking Strat-ish git you've got. I guess it's a Suhr or something? I've got some of this stuff, but some of it is news to me, so thx! Feeling a little guilty for buying the full layout of Amplitube a couple a days ago, lol. In USA we're all getting "stimulus" checks, and I've decided to do the adult thing and buy gear with it lol. It was like $300, sheesh. Idk how many "stone" or "ounces" that means in British... oh, I mean "pounds"..kay, I knew yawl reckoned your cash in terms of weight, lol, makes sense. You've done your practicing I see, lol, wish I were 1/50th as good. Thx for this demo, it informed me, lol. Great work. Greetings from Texas, cheers
@@vikrantsingh47 Much better, simply on the strength that you’ll be allowed to keep AmpliTube after you buy it, whereas Bias will yank it from you after two months. You buy AmpliTube, but you rent Bias. And subjectively as it very fortunately happens, AmpliTube is better. Aesthetically, Amplitube’s GUIs look great compared to Bias’ rather stunted images of amplifiers and amp heads. I think that matters, because I get into a plug-in and enjoy it that much more when the visuals are interesting and realistic. AmpliTube over Bias.
Wouldn’t the amp simulator software already have the sounds and tones? I’m confused why an IR is also used. What is a plug in versus an IR? Newbie here😊
the IR is a plug-in. Amp sim software usually has some basic models but there are infinite ways to modify that and using plug-ins is a great way to do that. An IR just emulates different speakers, speaker cabinets and microphone placement in front of the speaker/speaker cab. Many things affect guitar tone, from the guitar itself, the pickups, the strings, the cord from the guitar to the amp, the preamp, the type of power tubes in the power amp, the level of drive into the power tubes, the speaker(s), the speaker cabinet and finally the microphone placement when recording.
