What Suzu may have not realized is that although she might somewhat hate her mom for choosing a stranger over everything else, in that moment in front of millions suzu chose to do the very same thing - potentially sacrificing everything for 2 kids she never knew.

That's why the director of this movie intended to create this masterpiece to share the message that the online world is a pathway to connect others who are in need of company and especially in need of saving. @@thatgoroboy4260 I understand OP as: Suzu may not have realized until she started singing (although one may argue about the exact moment - one could argue that it was shortly before she started singing but it might in the middle of the song as well [I personally tend to the second option]).
Still not really comparable, Suzu wasn't leaving behind a kid she had a duty to protect. Her mother was. The point the movie was trying to make fell flat because Suzu was only sacrificing herself and had no moral responsibility to stay safe for her parents or friends, it was her life.
Her mother was just garbage all around. She had a moral duty to be there for her child and abandoned her to fail at saving another.
To me, it’s striking the difference between the English and Japanese songs. The lyrics and meanings are so different. The English version comes off more romantic and the Japanese version more of a song to her mother.
I kinda felt like the English version(I don’t know Japanese, sorry) also kinda went to be as a message to her mother

The song is more powerful when you can understand what they're saying. Which is why i prefer the English version, it really tugs at the heartstrings, mostlikely because i can listen to it with my eyes closed and really allow myself to get lost in the music.

I think that part was in memory of her mother a song that she and her daughter and her friends way back when she was alive that's probably why she cried and all her friends.
I remember how mesmerized when I watched this film. This song is the highlight of the scene, I want to cry. what a beautiful voice and in the scene accompanied by a million lights from everyone 🥺💞
I have so many good memories with this movie, hearing this song breaks my heart knowing those times arent here anymore.

I didn't really get the story or message from the movie, but guess it totally says everything in this song. the striking difference shook me differently, it feels weird yet fascinating. this is mesmerizing. great job! the Japanese version has a clear voice and pronunciation, while the English version has a strong and powerful voice, transmitting the aura into our ears. great job both Suzu's voice actors! ❤️
Basically, this was Suzu's journey of accepting and understanding the reason behind her mother's death. She never fully understand why she sacrificed her life to save another instead of choosing to stay safe with Suzu.

tbh this song had me in tears not out of sadness but I felt so moved, for the first time in life I felt like my actions could have power in this mess of a life. I only recently discovered this movie and Im glad I found it at the right time, in the midst of the chaos, in the midst of the pain, in the midst of the triumps the human spirit will overcome everything. The beauty of being a human is that we are all interlinked, we all matter, and we all can make a difference in the world :)
I cried when I first heard this song, little did I know that a month later I’d be crying again to this. My Dad passed away today and I finally got to see him, hug him, and hold his hand since I was about 4 years old and I’m 25 now. He wasn’t in my life so I didn’t know how to feel. There was so much anger and resentment but holding his warm hands for the very last time, I forgave him. I promise my future self to do better so I can live a happy and longer life. I know I will be back here listening to this again someday. I love you Dad.

I showed this video to a friend and she said the english translation is close to the meaning but the true lyrics are way deeper than that.
For example, she told me when you translate it by "I want to see you again", the actual lyrics are "I CRAVE to see you again"
It just makes me want to learn Japanese because, whoa... Sometimes, the lyrics are way deeper than the way we have to translate them.
This movie hits me so hard. Even though I don't have the same hardship as Belle and the Beast, I can still relate to this movie so deeply. And her song really made me bawling.

the plot is a bit confusing, where "beauty and the beast" leads to the romance genre. But still this is Good tier✨

I originally thought the dragon its her father, since the one who hurt more than her is her father, after his wife dies, his daughter (suzu), kinda distancing from him. But because beauty and the beast is originally more of a romance story so its kinda awkward plot i guess, but less plot hole tho.
the whole idea is that pain and suffering can be hidden in the hearts of anyone and not always visible. It plays with this fact when the whole world is searching for "belle" and she's just a normal girl. And once again when the world was searching for "the dragon", it was just a boy that anyone might see and pass on the street.
How are people not understanding the plot of the movie 😭

In my opinion it's like I love you for giving me strength and helping me believe I can be okay again. Unconditional love/care for another strangers heart so not romantic love that we expected considering this movie is inspired by beauty and the beast.
This strength is important and vital to their self growth considering the struggles that the two characters in their reality, and not in U virtual world, had faced after loosing their mums.
This is what I have interpreted and I hope you understand, although, we can all have our own opinions and interpretations of the meaning of this movie.

This is the best anime that about song.. Ever-!
The English version ruined what made this movie helpful to me. I was very disappointed in Gkids. Due to Gkids and YT, the Japanese videos with lyrics last time were taken down to support that new girl for English dub. This is a amazing song. The English version did no justice to it.
