hyprland was difficult! never knew about the keybindings until i watched this video. replaced dolphin with thunar to get rid of the KDE bloat, still in the works of getting a system tray up and running with waybar. oh and nwg-look is great for changing themes, cursors, icons, etc. fully supports wlroots.
You should use a display manager like sddm. You can install it with sudo pacman -S sddm and then start the service with sudo systemctl enable sddm.service

I've been using arch with hyprland as my only OS for at least 6 months now and have had 0 issues gaming on it. As long as you have an amd gpu i don't see why you would run in to many issues

That means, the starthypr.sh isn’t needed anymore. Should work with SDDM as well.

I can't open alacritty or kitty terminal emulator in hyprland, I can't find any solution in the internet, I use arch on vmware and alread enable 3D Acceleration

I am afraid I would have the same problem as with other tiling manager, Zoom share screen session showing a lot of black box because the windows do not render properly. But I want to try it. Would it be possible to have a script to run parallel KDE and hyprland and chose at start?
Thanks for your comment. I‘m using Qtile with Xorg and Hyprland with wayland. You could do the same by running KDE with xorg and start it with startx and Hyprland with the Hyprland command. Or you could install a display manager.

@@mylinuxforwork i followed your guide 1:1 up until after ./starthypr.sh, where i had to use WLR_RENDERER_ALLOW_SOFTWARE= 1 Hyprland instead of WLR_RENDERER_ALLOW_SOFTWARE= 1 on the ./starthypr.sh file. That fixed my issue, hyprland launched after that
@@mylinuxforwork I know but you copied a file from somewhere to paste it into that file. I can't file that directory. It is fine. I just created a config with only the ones to uncommented. Also .yml is now degraded.
Currently I would recommend Qtile for a main machine…. Today, for business related tasks. Based on the longer history between both systems. And not every application comes with wayland support today. But let’s see. Hyprland is definitely interesting and I will continue testing new updates. Next video is about my personal Qtile workflow. And you will see… it looks very similar to Hyprland. 😀
Thanks for the video, but I must ask. Why does so many Linux videos always, whether review of a distro or discussion of something like Hyprland, always show us how to install it. There are so many videos on how to install Hyprland, it becomes the same thing over again. Better for a noob like me, would be to show me what it is, what it actually does, how does it make my workflow better. How would it help me in my work environment; is it even compatible with software my work uses.. you know, actually getting stuff done, as oppose to...here is how to install it. Just my two cents.
Thank you so much for your valuable feedback. The Hyprland development is very dynamic at the moment. That's why I think publishing an installation video makes sense from time to time. But I agree. My focus is again more on sharing learnings and configuration ideas for Hyprland and Qtile + maybe more in the future.
Some packages are only available in the AUR. And yay makes it easy to install them. You can also install all packages with paru or directly from the repositories if you like.

Sure. Just follow the instructions and install it from a terminal.

Whenever i go through the directory for /etc/xdg/waybar, i see the config file in waybar theres just config.jsonc and style.css
