The media and Adam Silver sucks with the continuous d riding they do on LeBron. LeBron is not as loved by the masses as Kobe and Jordan was. The refs are ruining the game with their soft ass calls. Also, Adam Silver wants to run a happy go lucky superfriends daycare by not allowing rivalries, animosity, or players showing emotion, and celebrating their own plays. Today's NBA is soft and unwatchable.

Honestly the problem is the game can't be saved now. Maybe getting rid of the three? Or extending it much further out? But really I don't see any solution. Essentially any time a game becomes easy, it necessarily becomes boring. Think about video games, once it becomes easy you just get tired of it. That's what happened to basketball at a sports level. It became easy. Teams understand how to break any defense by driving and kickinh out for three. It really can't be defended. That's why the game became boring. Unfortunately, not get extreme but I really don't see a future for pro basketball economically. I think it sorta reached it's peak.

20, 30 even 40 point leads are so common now, and 40 point quarters? What the actual heck is that? Just goes to show the lack of defense in today's NBA. Basketball is played on both sides of the floor, it has always been like that and should stay like that. You simply can't handicap one aspect of the game without sacrificing the integrity of the sport. Doesnt work like that.

Instead of addressing the elephant in the room, the nba has resorted to gimmicks such as the in season tournaments. If the nba would focus on better and consistent officiating, calling out travels, no soft calls like hanging on the rim after a dunk, and focusing more on defense rather than scoring, i believe it will naturally result in more entertaining and exciting games. The league have also been made so much biased calls so they can maintain a narrative, favoring some players and teams which of course would turn off a lot of fans

The NBA is losing money for a lot of reasons.
The biggest reason is the game is soft and very biased toward big media stars. It gives too much money and power for players so they don't even play, but they prefer to have podcasts and party around. One Main reason why the NBA lacks is that every single day on the hour they are talking about and hyping the same teams that ain’t doing shit rather than showing love to the teams that actually win it. Why is it that the nuggets dominated the league all season and won while most fans didn’t even realize until they played the lakers in the playoffs? NBA needs to market the best teams in the league who cares what city they are from because what’s the point of winning when you can just be the 8th seed and get talked about more than the 1st?

All of the “traveling”, “carrying” and “moving screens” getting 3pt shooters open wouldn’t matter if the game was presented properly. The lack of centers and PF’s wouldn’t matter if the game was presented properly. ESPN is the biggest problem. Finals games are presented like Regular season games. TNT has always done a great job and they have great theme music and great pre/post game, but they don’t have the Finals. When CBS had it during Magic and Bird in the 80’s it was presented incredible well. And we all know how well the Jordan Era was presented on NBC. The problem is ESPN… music, production values, and poor pre/post game, does not put you in the mood to watch the game. When you think Jordan Era, you think NBC “roundball rock”. What do you think of when you think ESPN NBA? Elevator music, or trap music going into a commercial.

The problem is a narrower market. I loved the NBA between 1980 and 2002. I could name 5 or more players on each team for 60% of the league 40 years ago. Now, I can name 10 total players for the entire league, and I'd struggle to do that. I quit watching altogether in 2020.
I haven't watched a single second. 2020 was a huge inflection point that lost millions of viewers.

Someone who actually want to compete and show they are the best player in the arena on that night. At times the referees get the call wrong but for me it isn't that bad.
