I shouted winter sun about 10 times when I saw windhand at rebellion Manchester and then they played it as the encore. My mind was blown. Every time I hear this song my mind is blown. Perfection as far as doom metal goes for me!
SOMA is what got me into Windhand, but this first album is just as awesome. Especially this track, her opening voval melody or whatever you want to call it is so damn good

Similar guitar tone, but Electric Wizard has a more psychedelic, groovy sound, whereas this sounds more like the occult doom of Paul Chain. There’s a ton of overlap between stoner and doom, but Electric Wizard is much farther toward the “stoner” side than Windhand.

ive been looking for this forl ike an hour sheesh. I've discovered that I hate most female fronted "doom metal" since the female vocals sound pretty corny like a heart ripoff most of the time. windhand is the only one I really found so far that matches well with the instrumentation
his guitar (sound) is very similiar to electric wizard. on the one hand it is good because i never heard a band that came so close to sound like electric wizard. on the other hand the sound is not that raw, dirty like electric wizard. i would say it is predictable where the song goes. there are no many riffs that surpirse you. everything starts allright but then you miss the special part that doesnt come. like you ve got it in electric wizard. the voice is good. little bit similiar to goatsnake. but fits good. but it is little bit monoton after a time. little bit like cold embrace. so guys you have potential. keep the sound, try work more with different styles of voice and make the songs more unpredictable. i like your music. keep developing. (sorry for my english)
