Got a ticket for 100+mph here in San Diego. I have a mandatory court appearance and got fined $1,300. To all my young folks please don’t speed it’s not worth it.

I have a question, It's my first speeding ticket in excess of 100 mph on a 65 in California and I am 18 years old. In the heat of the moment, I was nervous and told the traffic stop officer that I was going 100-115, so I basically admitted that I was speeding. The officer told me I am mandatory to appear in court and that my license will be suspended for 30 days; then I signed the citation. Can I just plead guilty? I don't know if I can contest it since I've already admitted to the officer I was speeding; He most likely had his body cam on him too even though I didn't really see it on him during the time.

Were you on a motorcycle by chance? Did you go to court any update?

@@sonum1059 not a motorcycle, I did go to court (virtual meeting). Wasn’t as bad as I thought. Took like 5 minutes for my turn. There are other people in the meeting too, so you have to wait in “line” for your turn. The judge tells you what you’re because charged for then, then asks if you plead guilty or not guilty. Then you either plead guilty and just pay your ticket. Or not guilty and have another court date assigned to you to attend.

What was the result? Just a big fine? Or suspension? I’m currently in the same boat

@@nathan4223 was told during the stop that I was getting a 30 day licensee suspension but when it came to the court meeting (virtual) I was only given the ticket fine $846. The judge never told me about any suspension, although I do have 2 points on my dmv record now.

Got my first speeding ticket on Friday!. It was Highway Patrol. I asked for proof of speed, but he said he was pacing me and only has it on dash cam. He said I was going about 103 in a 65. Not to sure how fast I was going because I was looking in my rear view mirror, because I seen a car pulling behind and of course it was high patrol. It all happen so fast that I don’t think he was pacing me for long enough to determine my speed. First ticket ever so I’m not to sure what to. I have a CDL Class B. I for sure don’t want points on my driving record. I have a clean driving record. Is there getting out of this one? and do I have somewhat of an upper hand with a clean record and with this being my first ticket?

I got pulled over for going over 120 on the 57 in orange. I thought I was going to get arrested but the officers told me “get a citation and go to court or I arrest you right here and now and you go to jail”. I got a lawyer and he dropped my case other wise I would had gotten my drivers license suspended for 30 days, 2 points, and a $1000 fine. I’m 19
PS. I was crying on my way home and I didn’t tell my parents
