He has a point . I have been to both countries numerous times and it makes sense.socio economically Vietnam is ahead and in terms of culture Vietnamese still adhere or practices their centuries traditional cultures, norms and habits. It's d opposite in most Filipinos. Aping d west , being too agog and immerse in western cultures at d expense of their own Filipino cultures and values. Like u all said , they think all Westerner are rich, wealthy not knowing that many are just earning mediocre salary /income . It makes them look rich in Philippines coz of d dollar conversion rate and very much cheaper lifestyle as compared to d US or other western countries . Of course , there are some middle income retired Westerners who chose Philippines as their retirement place.

My husband and I visited Vietnam and stayed there for a month,, we travel Saigon, Da Nang, Hoi An, Nin Bhin and Hanoi. We enjoyed Vietnam so much, people there in general are nice. When we went to the market in Saigon and Hanoi the vendors are aggressively selling you their merchandise and we also got scammed. After a month there we find the language when they talk in high pitch it starts to hurt our ears. Since English is not spoken by regular Vietnamese it is hard to communicate. We are from Canada and retired in the Philippines, I will still choose Philippines as our base. We recently went back to Canada to visit family and friends, we were shocked with how much expensive it is in Canada now. We are very grateful to be able to retire early in the Philippines.

I have to agree. I’ve been to Ho Chi Min City and Dalat…I prefer Vietnam over Philippines as well. There is a sugar/carb addition in the Philippines just like the US…the long-term outlook for both populations is dire. Doctors in the US have given up trying to convince people to improve their health through diet. They are highly educated drug dealers. I gave up sugar/carbs 2 1/2 years ago and walk 10 miles every other day, I lost 60 lbs, got off 7 medications I had been on for 20+ years and have had the best blood test results ever. So much misinformation about Vietnam. I know men who have lived in Vietnam 30 plus years. I see large age gaps all the time. I have dated women in Vietnam like in Philippines. I’ve dated exclusively Asian women for decades so I understand how to emotionally connect with Vietnamese women. I exclusively date women in 20’s and I never use dating apps. I find Vietnamese women more responsible, accountable and very generous in many ways. To me there isn’t the chaos that exists in Phillipines. I like it’s more organized. I feel the most peaceful in Vietnam. Watch Dan of Vagabond Awake’s interviews of men who have lived in Vietnam for years and have large age gap relationships. I prefer Vietnam because I have the same saying opportunities of the Philippines but a much better and higher quality way of life. Beach cities are my home base with great airports to travel anywhere I want. Food is healthier and the culture is health based. Don’t make assumptions and test reality.

As a filipina who’s married to a foreigner (no crazy age gap), I agree with him. Foreigners in the PH for the most part lives in fantasy that monetary security has nothing to do with these crazy age gap relationships. The number 1 reason for those crazy age gap relationship is money/ better life, not to say that the girl doesn’t really care for you only your money, it just that money is the biggest factor. These crazy age gap are only prevalent with Filipinas in poverty, this is not something you see with well off filipinas, Filipinas with good jobs/ career. When I was in PH I earn about $1300/ month, this is considered pretty good amount in PH specially for my age 26, and all women around me, my peers will never want to be with a man as old as their dad, actually this is considered an embarrassment in our culture but of course with poverty this gets overlooked, in filipino culture there is nothing respectable with a relationship where the man is about the same age as your father or older.
There’s actually a joke started years ago saying “if you wont pass in Thailand/ Vietnam, you can still find wife in PH” 😅 Implying that Filipinas have really lower their standards due to desperation because of poverty.

@@davidpark2509 Not even close. China has a lot of infrastructure, however the quality of that infrastructure is less than average, and often downright poor.It could never be described as one of the best in the world. Specifically what infrastructure do you refer to? Manufacturing? What else? I would also consider Taiwan far superior to China as well, although it's not really considered SEA, but I'll tag it as superior along with along with Malaysia and Singapore. Granted Singapore and Taiwan are different types of countries that have more in common with each other than they do China.
China has serious issues with pollution and over population, Granted the populace has been very good at working for the countries common good...under the cosh of course, however in order for a country with it's geographical size and population that fills it, I believe it is probably the only way it can function to is optimum, so I think they can be cut some slack in that regard. Malaysia has far more going for it in terms of lifestyle, both for its own people and expats, than China is likely to ever be able to achieve. The work ethic is lighter, but it doesn't need to be China level as I don't think even the Malaysian's of Chinese origin see the need to be the richest person in the graveyard.

So I watch what I eat and do a lot of things, except exercise, my husband is an Irish American we live in California he has 3 kids I have two kids all grown ups and professionals. It’s how you discipline yourself and make your life not just about the lifestyle or traditions, eating a lot of fried, greasy foods, sodas, alcohol. My mom is from the province but she never encouraged us to have a lot of sodas and fried food. We raised our own chickens and vegetables and that’s what I’m teaching my two kids to be self sufficient. So it depends on how you want to be. I’m glad I watched your video Chad thanks for sharing. If a person feels that they have this need to find a wife or girlfriend 2,500 miles away without even knowing or visiting the country. Then, their problem. Don’t let one’s emotion make the decision or else that will only increase the chances of making a mistake. Moreover, most expats don’t visit two or three countries. Ex. For the crazy age gap in the Philippines 🇵🇭
In my opinion, one reason why many young Filipina girls date older foreign men is due to the behavior they encounter on dating apps like Tinder. Many young men on these platforms are often seeking casual hookups rather than serious relationships. In contrast, older men are perceived as being more mature and serious about long-term commitments, which makes dating them feel more secure and stable.
Additionally, cultural factors play a role. In the Philippines, there's a cultural tendency to value the stability and experience that older men bring to a relationship. Financial security can also be a factor, as older men are often more established in their careers and can provide better financial support.
Moreover, older foreign men might offer more respect and genuine affection, which can be appealing compared to the sometimes more frivolous intentions of younger men. The combination of these factors makes older men more attractive for those seeking a serious and committed relationships.

Hi Chad. New subscriber, also from your part of the world - Southwest Ontario. I date foreign ladies but only in Latin America. SE Asia seems a little far away when you can find just as beautiful women closer to home and in warm climes too. I lived in Panama for 6 years and travelled extensively throughout LATAM. My fav place for ladies though is Brazil. In all of these countries, huge age gaps are the norm, and not looked down upon whatsoever. But the added benefit is ... if you do get married to a Brazilian, after living as a married couple in Brazil for just 1 year, you, as the spouse of a Brazilian citizen, are entitled to become a Brazilian citizen yourself! By becoming a citizen, you have the same rights as all the locals. This is one huge benefit that you can't get in SE Asia, as they tend to guard their citizenship like the crown jewels.
Another benefit to dating LATAM ladies over ladies in SE Asia is the ability to potentially find one that has Portuguese or Italian citizenship. Because, if you marry a Brazilian citizen with dual citizenship with either Portugal or Italy, after just 3 years of marriage, you can also apply for these two passports, without ever having to enter either country. I would think highly improbable that any Filipina or any SE Asian lady would ever have either Italian or Portuguese lineage. Now, of course, it may not be great dating a woman for this purpose alone ... but if you can find one, why not? The more citizenships and passports you have, the more opportunities you'll equally have. And, of course, if you do have children, those children can benefit directly from visa-free travel, work, study in all sorts of countries!
However, as far as cost of living ... I think things are much cheaper in SE Asia, as long as you don't have to pay income taxes there.

That is probably the smartest thing that the Philippines has done is require English to be taught in school and used as an official language. It has prepared many Filipinos for work in other countries as OFW's, and has made the Philippines more popular of a country for tourists and as a retirement place.
When trying to meet an Asian girl online, noticed there were a lot more girls from the Philippines online on dating sites and that was because their are more Filipinas who speak English then other Asian countries.

Their descendants now can retire comfortably by taking a wife in the Philippines whom they can easily converse with thanks to their English skills. Otherwise Filipinos would have been as difficult to communicate with as the Vietnamese and today's retiree community will have nowhere to get wives from. It's the great American foresight!

I immigrated to the United States in 1969 when I was five years old. My mother, siblings and I went back to spend our summer vacation in the Philippines in 1974 when I was 10. I do not recall --and my memory is quite good-- a McDonald’s or any fast food restaurant in Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya, where most of my mother’s family lived. Though, not sure, there may have already been fast food restaurants in Manila during the early ‘70s. I specifically remember how much skinnier people were compared to Americans in the 70s. Filipinos, in general, were VERY thin! There were very few people that were overweight. My cousins even brought me to school with them and I felt great because finally, everyone was small and skinny, just like me. I did not go back to the country of my birth until 1998, and have been going back almost every year since then. And I am amazed at how rapid the fast food industry is growing and how my countrymen are quickly getting more and more obese! I am now 162 cm and I weigh 51 kg. I am thin for an American, but if this were 1974, my family would have been congratulating me for my “thickness.” Everything is different now.

The Philippines and Vietnam obviously have different cultures and traditions. Vietnam has a single language and ethnicity in a unified land. The Filipinos are spread over hundreds of islands, each with its own language and culture. While Vietnamese is spoken by the majority of people in Vietnam, only a quarter of the Filipinos speak Tagalog the official language of the country. Ironically, it was the Spanish who unified the islands under one rule and thus created the nation called the Philippines.
