      It won't. My hair was severely damaged when I first got it bleached from black to silver three years back and even Olaplex treatments couldn't stop it from breaking off. Olaplex is a fucking miracle for preventing damage and keeping hair as healthy as possible while doing/after chemical processes, but once the hair is at a point where it's truly overprocessed, even Olaplex isn't going to bring it back.

      My hair was literally breaking off when brushed, no matter how gentle, and Olaplex literally saved my hair. My daughter's hair was dyed blue (she was Corpse Bride for Halloween, and since her gown was made with real pearls and Victorian era lace, a very high-end gown, we decided to go big with her hair instead of the wig we got) with a temp Ion dye we didn't know was notorious for not coming out. Her hair is blonde. The blue didn't come out. We dyed it brown to try to cover the blue. The permanent brown faded before the blue did. We finally had to bleach her hair several times and Malibu it several times. We're talking hair on an 8-year-old's head. Her hair should have been fried by the time we did what was supposed to be impossible. We used Olaplex. It's still incredibly soft. So. Yes. This stuff works.
      ("We" refers to me fretting while her professional-hair-styling aunt, who chastised me for not consulting her before dying my munchkin's hair, did her work.)

    • @sauucedsuubliminals7185
      @sauucedsuubliminals7185 5 лет назад +13

      Katrina C Katrina C By limp do you mean that you are losing your curl pattern? If so Calcium bentonite Clay (Aztec healing clay) really helped to bring back my curl pattern and it is also a natural resource from the earth and only consists of one ingredient vs the normal 10+ products and if you find it drying, you can add oils to the mixture.
      If you don’t wanna use bentonite clay, then look into the aphogee 2 step protein treatment as this is very good at reconstructing your curl pattern, too and they are both very good at repairing hair.
      For frizz, this starts from your wash routine!! Work the shampoo into wet hair in sections, don’t rub your hair together vigorously - just massage it gently. You can also apply oil 20-30mins before shampooing so that your hair isn’t stripped of moisture. Also deep condition with heat!! Whether it’s under a dryer or you use a shower cap to trap the heat in, this will open up your hair strand to allow moisture to get in.
      My favourite deep conditioners are by Shea moisture. One is the Manuka honey Mafura oil intensive hydration masque and the other is the Shea moisture black Castor oil strengthen and restore treatment mask.
      I leave the mask on for 1 hour under a shower cap with braided or twisted hair and rinse. Don’t towel try as this can cause breakage and frizz. Instead use a micro fibre towel or an old t-shirt or even let hair air dry.
      When moisturising, use a liquid such as a leave in conditioning spray, a cream such as a as thicker curl cream that will clump your hair together and then seal the moisture with an oil such as Castor oil. When your curls are clumped together, they are often more defined and less likely to look frizzy, so detangle by hand or find a brush like a denman brush that will smooth your curls together.
      If you need to separate any huge clumps, wait until your hair is dry so that you don’t disrupt the curl pattern as your hair is drying.
      Once it’s dry, do NOT attempt to brush it or comb it as this will cause more breakage as we have little to no slip on dry hair. Also, you can find out your curl pattern/hair type through videos on RUclips or you can go on google images and find reference charts. Also find out your hair porosity! This will help you to figure out what methods and products your hair needs.
      Im not sure if I’ve missed anything, so feel free to ask more questions! Sorry for the long reply! Hope I’ve helped

      He's stated before that he doesn't believe that giving your hair a "rest day" between bleaching will really do anything. And I mean... What WOULD it do? Any oil will just stay at your scalp, and hair is dead anyway, so it's not like it needs a break to breathe or regenerate or anything. It all depends on genetically how fragile your hair is. If it's strong and can stay bonded while bleach has to "break through" to lift pigment out, then great. If it's thin and brittle and will break while bleach breaks through to lift pigment, then it doesn't matter how many days of rest you give your hair, it was just built to break. :(

    It can really make a huge difference for clients and people who’s hair is compromised, the difference won’t be as drastic on Hair that’s already relatively healthy. It’s basically a safety blanket for healthy hair, and a life-saver for any level of damaged/compromised hair.

      Sahira Rodriguez heat can break bonds that hold together the hair just as badly as chemicals do. It’s a great investment ESPECIALLY if you’re a daily heat user! If your hair is going through any kind of “creative abuse” then it’s a good idea lol. Just remember it’s not a moisturizing mask, it’s a hair bonding agent so if you have dry brittle hair, use something that’s going to hydrate your hair as well because heat both breaks disulfide bonds as well as dry out the hair.

It allows your hair to become damaged and “reconnects” the bonds with their step two... you have to use the entire system to see results. But once your hair is damaged getting a cut is truly the only way to prevent more breakage. I say it’s like putting on a bandage it will only hold together for so long if your try to fix it with products.

      I don't bleach my hair - but I used to use coconut oil when I coloured my hair, or when I had damaged hair, and it doesn't really work that well. The main thing that it did for me was that my hair grew faster. I switched to olaplex and use a small amount each week (so that I can use a bottle at least 4-6 weeks) and it works way better. The last time I cut my hair was in April, and while I do have some split ends, it is 1/10 of what it used to be (I had issues with hair breakage)

    So here is my story:
    I bleached my hair ONCE without any olaplex, my hair went from let's say a good quality to dry,frizzy, rough and damaged. It looked like a bomb just exploded in my hair. (My hair has never been silky smooth)
    After a year or so, I then bleached my hair 4 times, using olaplex, my hair was fine, no frizz, a little dry though but not as much as compared to when I did bleach without olaplex. It didn't fry either. I did had to cut like 2 inches of my hair because of the previous damage(they were dead(not fried!) So they were dry af like hay) And bare in mind my hair is level 2 asian hair. And I went blonde level 9 I suppose in a period of 2 weeks. I bleached my hair twice the first day and 2 weeks later twice again the same day.
    So in my opinion, olaplex does save hair.I'd recommend everyone to use it!

      Hümeyra Ceylan I bleach my own as well as my friends hair almost platinum to do bright colors all the time and I will say from experience that it does work. I’ve been using it for years. Now if you are expecting completely healthy shiny virgin hair, no you’re not going to get that. But if you are looking for less damage, less breakage and softer/healthier hair than what you would have after bleaching normally, then yes it works.
      Now, I bleach my hair all the time for crazy colors with 30 and mostly 40 developers and I leave it on til it’s lifted all the way rather than double processing my hair and my hair is still soft and hairdressers are always amazed at how healthy my hair is. But I also don’t use sulphates, parabens, silicones, etc. as being a curly girl. But I condition my hair well and often, rarely heat style or blow dry, use T-shirt’s rather than towels, satin pillowcases, etc,. Just take care of my hair in general other than the bleaching. I also only bleach when my roots are about 2in, so not that often, and only the part that needs bleached. Anyway, my point is that the combination of Olaplex 1&2 along with other healthy hair regimes work.

      I think it’s a reasonable price. I currently use Olaplex shampoo and conditioner and they’re $28 for 8.5oz / 250mL. I only wash my hair 1-2 times a week and my hair isn’t very long, so based off how the product is getting consumed the whole bottles will end up lasting a year at least. It is still more expensive than some drugstore brands and Costco but it’s not unreasonable.

Buuuut I have to make sure I’m not costing my hair with more than it can soak up. If you’re just slathering oil of any kind on its going to look and feel nasty. If the oils are far to heavy to apply after your hair is clean, I’d just cost my hair at night before bed, and let it sit over night then shampoo just my scalp and condition lightly. It’s all up to your hair type, your specific head, your climate, and lifestyle. No one thing is ever going to work out exactly the same for everyone! Plus animal oils tend to be fattier so if anything the emu oil would just weigh it down further.

    • @nivision
      @nivision 5 лет назад +35

      you guys would be even sadder if you knew the science behind the processing that goes into those hair extensions he's using. he says they've been color treated, yet the seam on the weft and everything matches the rest of them, which means they were color treated before selling... which is totally different from the color treatment you'd do on hair on a human head. the cuticles are essentially destroyed, they're dyed somewhat like cloth fiber, and then treated with a synthetic material that'll act like an artificial cuticle for a while but isn't very sturdy. even without the extra processing he did here, after a few weeks it'd start getting dry and tired looking. if this hair is also not designated 'remy', then nobody bothered to make sure the hair was all going root-to-tip the same direction, half those hairs in the weft are upside down, and the ragged bits of cuticle left behind will start to snarl on each other and turn into a terrible mat.
      so yes, Brad, the Olaplex isn't going to make a dramatic difference between the two samples when the very thing it's supposed to help preserve has already been rekt before you even started. I mean, it's fine to practice your color skills on hair extensions, but an "experiment" this specific on them is utterly useless.
      won't testify to any of Brad's other skills, but if you win a Mondo Makeover, y'all, just don't let him come at you with hair extensions. he either has zero understanding of them, or he cares more about clickbait than making any kind of sense whatsoever.

      @@nivision I'll actually defend Brad here, and I don't usually defend someone who is being wildly inaccurate. He was just doing this for fun, entertainment, and general interest. He said many times that he was not a scientist, it was just an experiment on the base level, he's not writing a paper or submitting to a journal. He was not likely going to buy the highest quality extensions to do an experiment that was probably going to ruin them.
      But I will say, the whole time he was doing the experiment I was thinking 'yeah, but colour treated extensions have an artificial sealant on them...'

      Okay so when I measure out developer in a measuring cup, I’m trained enough to know I fill my cup a bit more to make the measurements correct. Some scrape the bowl, some “overfill” it’s just what I know from being s Licensed Cosmetologist and a teacher at a big school. It works and has worked. Just my opinion ❤️❤️❤️

    I've been coloring and bleaching my hair since I was a teenager. I have very fine and straight hair. This year I started using olaplex and the more treatments I have had, the more my hair starts to get wavy. I even start to get some curls, so I definetly think it does something to broken hair.🤔

    As much as I have been wanting and needing to get a makeover done by you, I recently shaved my head so my hair is like 3 inches long right now so there's not much to be done with it... My hair falls out so badly because of a medical condition and I got tired of constantly being covered in loose hairs, so I was hoping that when it grew back that maybe it wouldn't fall out as bad when it grows out.
    But in the future, if you choose to do another giveaway or even just more makeovers, I'll definitely be sending in a video submission or what ever the application process is for these. And I'm definitely going to try out Olaplex after shampooing to see if that helps with my hair loss.

    Brad, you know it’s illegal to hold a contest where you have to pay to win. You can get sued and have a HUGE lawsuit for it.

      Ash Ley It’s an illegal lottery. One of these days one of these social media influencers will get a mass-tort lawsuit on their hands.

    • @destinyxrose
      @destinyxrose 5 лет назад +6

      Ash Ley It sounds like he is picking a winner based off of photo submissions rather than just randomly. If that’s the case, then he is crossing a very fine line but he could be within his legal rights. It’s hard to say, especially since every country and even every state have their own laws.. he would need to release some rules and regulations to say one way or another so it wouldn’t hurt for him to get in contact with a legal team if he hasn’t already to make sure he does it correctly since this is such a huge topic going around social media right now. We don’t know what he has done behind the scenes so hopefully he already has his ducks in a row.

      It sounded like he wants pictures of us, to see our hair from my understanding. For his previous mondo makeovers, he would have subscribers submit photos of themselves-more specifically, their hair, along with an explanation why they should get to win one and he would pick them instead of doing a random drawing. I know he didn’t ask for us to give an explanation but he kind of implied that he wanted us to do that and I think he is still looking for a photo of us, not us with the product cuz he said he was going to look through the applicants and pick someone but maybe I misunderstood.
      To be considered a lottery, it has to be ALL 3 of the items below. Based off the fact that he is picking a winner based off photo submissions and not just randomly, he MIGHT be able to get away with not qualifying under the “chance” circumstance and just be considered a contest. But like I said, he’s walking a very fine line and we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes but he has to take into account all the laws, where New York has some of the strictest laws regarding this. So hopefully he is talking with someone to make sure he keeps things legal.
      To not be considered an illegal lottery, the giveaway must not fall under at least one of the following:
      Prize-who wants to enter a giveaway without a prize?
      CHANCE: Winners are selected by a random process (i.e., drawing, seeded winning objects, pre-selected numbers)
      Consideration-something of value given by entrants to the giveaway sponsor. Often it’s money, but it doesn’t have to be. Depending on what you require entrants to do, you could be pushing the envelope on this element. Each state may have its own particular definition, making it very difficult to manage.

    Extensions (even those made with real hair) get treated with certain chemicals, they no longer have the same structure as real hair - so, they don't get damaged the same way as natural hair does. This comparison is not exactly accurate.

    I think the real magic and difference when using Olaplex is when you are using it on already damaged hair. I've seen it in action with my friend who damaged her hair with so much bleaching and coloring over and over often. After the first time they used olaplex in the process, her hair looked so much better. Of course, the hair on the ends were more fried than a carnival treat, so that needed to be cut off. But, the damage was all throughout her 28" hair up to 2-3" of her roots. We cut off 5 inches, and the rest of her hair was gorgeous and remarkably improved.

    I went from box dye black to blonde with olaplex. Used it every session and the after care regularly. It was fine for a few months. A year later, it all broke off. I lost about 10 inches of hair. It doesn’t matter what product you use, you can’t prevent damage when you bleach and you can’t repair it either. If you insist on lightening, consider how much you’ve treated your hair already and prepare to lose some. I wish I just appreciated my butt length, dark hair when I had it. That is my personal experience, it will be different for every type of hair and how it’s been treated. 👍

      Yes you can, I have bleach my hair for over 12 years now, the thing that's important is to. change the products up, one /one wash whit Olaplex and the other week use Moisturizer mask - Shampoo and conditioner 🙋🏼‍♀️ That's saved my hair and I have alot of it and down to my under bubs 🙌🏼😇😄 If you only use products whit protein it will break of in the end 😫 so it's very important to switch them around moister one time or more and then a wash whit the proteins 🥰🙌🏼
