Yes. Thank God nobody took pictures but when I was young I decided to bleach my hair. I don't even remember what I used well.... I didn't have enough but I figured I could spread it out and make it work. 🤣🤣🤣 the front looked good. What I didn't know was the back had clumps of blond. As you can tell I have very dark brown hair so it was awful. I put on a hat. I was getting on a plain that morning. I know🤦♀️ I landed and got in the car and my mom looked at my hair and said what the F have you done. I should shave your head for being that stupid. We stopped at the store got what we needed and it was fix that night. Thank God. My mom's ex was a hairdresser for celebs. So she knew what to do. He has passed but we will never forget the hair transformation we got through the years. He was sooo good.

If you get a root smudge or balayage it doesn't have to be super high maintenance
@@marieel3225 but at the end of the day, there’s always maintenance. And you still have to go back regularly to get it toned even if you don’t have to do the new growth every time.

@@marieel3225 I agree! I am a low maintenance blonde, root stretch etc and during lockdown my hair still looks so good, made me so happy! I usually go to the salon twice a year normally and the rest of the time I look after my hair with Olaplex and hair oils. 🙂
When people say “this is my natural hair” but also “I dye it all the time” it just cracks me up.
Also, I don’t understand why she’s covering her naturally dark hair with dark hair dye. It doesn’t look as if she has grays or other concerns that would call for that.
My roots, that what I meant by natural hair, that's what turned yellow after bleaching (you couldn't tell before I bleached it). I was dying it because it gave me more of a pigmented look.
@@jenniferford2067 I live in AZ, which is really hot and dry so the sun tends to bleach people’s hair here. The sun on my neutral brown hair turns it this awful ashy dark brown which isn’t cute. Before I started bleaching my hair I’d do a henna/indigo color treatment to bring some richness into it

Because of Brad Mondo I’ve learned a lot about doing hair, I started bleaching my friends hair (with their parents go ahead as well as theirs) and dying their hair. I’ve never been so proud of myself til my friends hair after bleaching for 30 mins was blonde with foils and the roots took 10 mins. And because I was so careful with the bleach while also covering each strand she wanted for her peekaboo with bleach, her hair is still very healthy! She wanted neon green for her peekaboo and it turned out beautiful, I’ve never been so proud of myself. So because of Brad Mondo, I’ve found a passion, and will be going to cosmetology school

I bleached my own brown hair at home to white and I put lavender roots and I got so many compliments on it! The only problem is the up keep. I am now back to a brown with highlights again I did it all myself. I also, cut my own hair using the wolf cut and it works awesome! I’m 53 years old and have been doing my own hair since I was a teen. Yes there has been good times and bad lol.

Yeah I mean my natural color is red but I do use henna to enhance it. It looks beyond natural and my regrowth just blends into the henna hair when I redo it twice a year.

Dude, I haven't even gotten done with the first girl but she should have realized the reason the stylists said they couldn't was for a reason. More likely they probably told her they could do it but it would take time and she'd have to go through several darker shades and sessions before getting to light blonde. There was no way in hell that bleach was going to get out that box dye with 30v developer in 1 go or even get all of it within 3 sessions. If she had just had patience a stylist could have helped her work her way to light blonde and kept her hair looking and feeling amazing.

The first girl’s video is actually the perfect example of what stylists see when someone isn’t honest about using a box dye on their hair but more than that,black dye specifically.that is what it looks like and is also why multiple sessions are suggested.I appreciate her patience and technique and honesty.she already knew from Jump the amount of work she would have to do but she made it happen.only thing I would suggest is for her to use a protein filler and stay on top of her hair treatments to stop and prevent further breakage.oh and trims.she did a really good job❤️especially for doing this at home.

I’ve done some atrocious things to my hair with bleach and, in over 20 years of bleaching my hair, I’ve still never managed to destroy my hair. I’ve sat and bleached my hair 3 times in one day, each time progressively longer, starting at 45 minutes for the first bleach, and my hair still came out soft with no breakage at all.

About 13 years ago I went black box dye to white in one 9 hour salon sitting. I did want to go for a pixie cut anyway so my hairdresser agreed (award winning colour specialist and mad woman ❤) and it looked AMAZING! I don't think that would work for long hair though!

Yeah I used 20 because the bottom of my hair was faded green and I knew it would be less damaging and I ended up doing the dye process on my ends 3 times to get the result I wanted. I did a black to grey ombre and it came out pretty good :D

Video idea - How much does the price/quality of a hair straighter affect the longevity of a curl? I've always wondered this - I use a cheap $30 straightener, and my curls never hold for longer than a day with heaps of hairspray, but when my hairdresser does it with her salon quality straightener, they last 3 days with hardly any product! Is it the equipment or the user?
Here’s a question. Since the first girl had box dye in her hair when she started her bleaching process, if she had used a color remover to strip her hair of the existing dye, would this in effect shorten the bleaching process and prevent some hair damage? Or would she still need to bleach her hair the same number of times that she did?
I think this depends on many factors. Because I heard from some people where their color remover did nothing or the color remover gave breakage and others who had great results with color remover.
With box dye it sounds more like a try and error 😂

My color remover worked so well every time I used it I was wondering why she didn't try that first
She definitely needed a sulfur-based color remover! It's efficacy is highly dependent upon how much you scrub, how many shampoos you do (3x is recommended) and utilizing the hottest water you can stand to rinse, rinse, rinse. Many people do not follow all the steps correctly and get very little results for their very little effort!
I have used several sulfur-based color removers and some do work better than others but oftentimes the difference is the effort you're willing to put into it and then I learned about bleach and direct dyes and gave up permanent hair color! Because removers are just sooo much effort and permanent dyes are more damaging then bleaching once or twice then using direct dyes.

That girl's hair is so healthy, I mean she has been box dying it every six months for years and it still looks amazing Mashaallah while there is people like me who don't use heat or hair dye. I oil it before shampoo, wash it once a week and my hair is frizzy and falling out...
Frizzy is just part of a hair type, but falling out could be a health issue like thyroid

the places she had breakage at 9:20 are beneficial... that's literally how I cut my hair to add volume. My hair is SUPER long, so without shaping it it's super flat on top. So I cut some hairs at the crown for body. Sounds like the perfect kinda breakage lol.

Before she would’ve started bleaching her hair, she should’ve used a different bleach, bc this bleach is mostly meant for virgin hair, rather than already-dyed-hair. I recommend the Ion Bright White Creme Lightener bc it lifts up to 10 levels in 10 minutes! I used it on my hair, even the parts of my hair that were already dyed, and it lightened SO well!! 10/10, 100% recommend!!👌🏽👌🏽

"Even before you see your stylist, you can always do a test strand." Or go to a salon that does free consults - mine will do a free test strand at the same time, if they're concerned about how you'll lift. If you have a lot of box dye, or heaven forbid henna, a test strand before you try anything is a must.
