    Why would the killer wipe the Rav 4 clean of fingerprints, but leave multiple visible blood smears?

    • @lr4600
      @lr4600 5 лет назад +10

      Or remove all blood from his home and garage (somehow) but not wipe down the vehicle used to transport the body. Or not destroy the car when he lives on a salvage yard and had several days between her disappearance and his property being searched

    • @AKSBSU
      @AKSBSU 5 лет назад +4

      I've found it quite curious that police claim he's dumb enough to leave a barely disguised RAV4 in a junkyard equipped with a crusher with a few curiously located blood smears inside yet is a forensic genius to leave no fingerprints in the vehicle or traces of Halbach's blood inside his home or garage, where they claimed some sort of medieval butchering of a murder occurred. If he was guilty, Dexter would marvel at his ability to conceal evidence in his home and garage, an even more remarkable feat for a man with an IQ around 70.

    • @lr4600
      @lr4600 5 лет назад +2

      @@AKSBSU Right? In order to accept the state's version you have to accept a very contradictory view of Avery. This is not simply a murderer hiding behind a facade of charm. Hes clearly not a very intelligent or hygienic man. So the crime as presented completely contradicts the most basic facts about him.
      People get caught up in the amount of evidence pointing towards his guilt while overlooking just how incredibly sketchy all of it is.

    Thank you for the interview, very interesting and informative. I'm a bit disappointed with some aspects of season 2, but I can honestly say that I have never been so affected by a documentary as I was by season 1. We've obviously had issues with dodgy policing here in the UK, but it's unbelievable what happened in this case, and that it is undoubtedly going on in many places where a documentary team doesn't happen to be available.

    I fully understand that the HolBrock family would love peace. But i would also hope that they would want the RIGHT murderer in jail, and not someone who was easy to prosecute. I can't judge them, I know they have dealt a horrible loss. Still, for me, the only peace to find is with a correct conviction. In no way would i want to convict anyone who was innocent. That just spreads the pain around to more innocents.
    There is overwhelming evidence to question the conviction of both Avery an Dassey. Its disturbing that Kratz and Colburn et el are so hell bent on revenge that they ignore evidence. There are so many good cops, its really diappoionting and demeaning to all police departments for this type of obvious incompetence and lack of integrity to be given the day of light.

    Just to cite one significant fact (among many of course) that made an impression on me: the Rav 4 was never searched for fingerprints! When we all know -hell any kid can tell you- that is the main procedure in any crime scene. The infamous Kratz in a clip when asked about this offers a very vague answers. Of course, they would not have find any Avery's fingerprints, and maybe Bobby Dassey's ones. And the unbelievable amout of DNA found on the hood latch, really?
    Many docs have made a lasting impression on me, about the Holocaust, Rwanda, the Apartheid, Vietnam just to name a few, but this one, Making a Murderer, is happening RIGHT NOW. The immense suffering is actual, Brendan's, Stephen's, their families; it is maybe not much compared to famous History massacres, but we happen to see and feel it up close. And the world is watching.
    And the hypocrisy of Kratz who keep saying all he wants is to see an end to the suffering of the Halback family. When deep down he wants to protect himself and his accomplices, Fassbender, Colborn, the sheriff and highers up who threatened the Coroner from doing her job on the burning pit, etc. etc.
    Katherine Zellner is doing an heroic job.

The amount of money the state was goin to have to give to steve for his first case he was wrongfully convicted of would of led to alot of cops losing there jobs! They were casing steve, they saw the victim come and go from his property and learned her routine. They flagged her down in civilian clothes and killed her off of cuss road behind steves property where the cadaver dogs first picked up a scent. One question that keeps sort of haunting me (after watching both seasons and a lot of additional videos here on yt) is: Why does it seem that the Halbach family has no doubts at all and just seem to accept everything that is fed to them? They (especially the brother) seem so convinced Brendan and Steven did it and are hell bent on keeping them in prison. But if there is so much doubt risen since day one (that theres now two seasons of documentair on it!), why aren’t they interested in further research and evidence to get to know the absolute truth? Regardless of who might have done it.
    It seems like they just blindly believe everything the prosecutor tells them. In some sort of tunnel vision. If it were my family i would want to know the absolute truth. And if there is any doubt risen i would want to get to the bottom of it... I would feel totally mislead by the prosecuters and what they did (and didnt do) specially that Ken Kratz, they are supposed to represent the victim... This documentary has shown that Steve Avery is clearly innocent and was stitched up. The frightening part is that the final say in all this is not the Federal Circuit Court but the State. And it's the State who do not want to pay out $37M from the first miscarriage of justice and definitely scared of what they will have to pay for this second case. Also if they agree that he is innocent then they will have to agree that the police planted evidence and committed criminal acts and open up a whole can of worms for them. They are playing delaying tactics in the hope that Steve Avery will die in prison and they are all off the hook. As long as the State have the final say there is very little hope for Steve and Brendon. You would think Teressa's family would want the real murders in jail not innocent people.

It puts into perspective the conspiracy piece these two did. The series is deliberately misleading, including spliced footage from the trial to make deputy Colburn look bad. All this for some fame and netflix money. At the expense of the actual victim's memory, the feelings of those who loved her and the reputations of the investigators... The series is not just biased, it's deliberately misleading. I was of this opinion long before hearing what Griesbach had to say, but the book showed me the extent of the deception in making a murderer. Dispicable really. It's too bad they weren't more honest with this documentary (part 1 and 2).
    Things they avoided:
    - The allegation of rape by one of Lori's friends in 1983.
    - The fact the DA was going to charge Steven with the rape of his niece at the time he was arrested for murder. His niece was 16 at the time she was raped which occurred not long after he was released from prison. He knew he was going back to prison, right around the time Teresa was murdered.
    - That Steven was serving 6 years for running Sandra Morris off the road and threatening to kill her (at the same time he was serving time for the rape of Penny Beerntsen).
    - That Steven was claiming to the press that the police were planting evidence against him before he was officially a suspect.
    - That despite numerous witnesses confirming Steven had a bonfire that evening, he completely denied it for two weeks. He eventually admitted to having a bonfire around November 18th.
    - That Steven submitted two contradictory affidavits within months of each other regarding the second blocked call to Teresa.
    - That the blood vial accusation by Buting was resolved at trial.
    - That Colburn and Lenk were NOT targets of the civil lawsuit. They actually submitted depositions that were being used to strengthen Avery's case for his lawsuit.
    There is no motive for anyone to 'frame him'. The $36 million suit would have actually paid out, realistically, $5 million or so and the county was insured for that.
    Here's an interesting quote from his interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel..
    “Sometimes, I feel like it’s easier in there (prison), some days, just put me back there, get it all over with.”
    This would have been around the time he raped his 16 year old niece, and 1½ years before Teresa was murdered.

      JCTiggs There’s a LOT of misinformation and misrepresentation in your post - I suggest you do more research and stop perpetuating myths. Start with the bonfire that never happened on that night and is already documented not to have occurred. Your 18th November is laughable, the fire that never happened was alleged on the 31st October. There is NO evidence of this rape of his niece you speak of, please provide concrete evidence, as it was her PARENTS who were concerned about their relationship and the girl and Avery were BOTH interviewed by law enforcement officers at the time and they found the parents concerns UNFOUNDED. I could go on and completely obliterate your list out the water.

      @@Kyomiibrown Wait, you actually think there wasn't a bonfire the day Teresa was on the property? Not sure why you believe that, is this another conspiracy theory? Steven admits he had a bonfire that night. So did his attorneys, so did Brendan's attorney (Nirider), so did numerous witnesses. They all said there was a bonfire Oct 31, 2005 no one is disputing that.
      Avery's account of the fire matched the reports by 9 other people who saw the bonfire on Halloween. However, it is interesting that both Steven and Brendan lied about the bonfire in their initial interviews. This was before bones were found in the pit, so there should have been no reason to distance themselves from being together at the fire. After having told LE he hadn't had any fires for weeks, Steven finally agreed with Barb on 11/18 about the Halloween bonfire and said "Well, then Brendan was with me."
      There's a lot of detailed info about the fire, compiled in this thread...

      I encourage others to read some of the other info that's collected there too, a lot of it wasn't even mentioned in the MaM docuseries. link..

      JCTiggs Please catch up with the evidence Zellner has uncovered and you will see the fire did not occur on the night.

      @@Kyomiibrown Interesting, we must have missed that. So now it seems Steven and Brendan are lying about the bonfire when they said it was on Oct 31st? That's the date on their sworn affidavits and that's also the date their lawyers claim as well. That also means all of the people who witnessed the bonfire on October 31st are lying, because that's the date on their sworn affidavits as well. 🙄

      Not true. It is clearly stated in the documentary that the insurance companies had told the police they were not covered for this and the payout would be made by them as people... When you get one thing wrong the rest of the assumptions/claims you make have to be called into question.
      That's part of the point of the entire series. Mistakes have obviously been made casting doubt over the whole process. How can justice even hope to be carried out if the truth is altered in anyway?
