If you take more than 3 of the same item, they will have to send off for a bulk buy price, so they may mark you down 10-20%. Depending on if you've done it before.
I did even know Game still do traid in games tbh. I think it as gone off most people's radar. I remember GameStation what a store that's was. Great video keep it up.
maybe I'm wrong but, when you do this say this was your only tactic. if you're only ever getting store credit it then you're never getting your own money back as you can't just say i want the tenner back in cash haha. so spending no money to build a collection is impossible right?
I've been buying and selling at CEX for about 15 years, sometimes their prices are good, sometimes not, like I took a load of old games the other week to the Sheffield one, got £69 cash for about 7 or 8 games. Also, it's a known issue that they might give you maybe 20 quid for a certain game, and then resell it for probably double that. Also, the trade in prices at GAME have sucked since forever, plus the last 3 Xbox games I bought from GAME have been faulty and had to be sent back, and for some annoying reason, online purchases have to be sent back to the Depot in Basingstoke, via Evri/Hermes because you can't just take them back to the shop.
I was bought up on Master system and Mega drive. I've actually built the retro flag sega mega drive raspberry pi console and it's excellent. I even have some great game pads that are just like the original ones. So many good memories 😊
Subscribed for the Liverpool top and staying for the content. I grew up with a Master System 2 and a Mega Drive (I still have the latter) so it's Sega for me in terms of consoles (although I did have a Gameboy too). I just picked up sonic 2 a few months back after never owning it and need to get round to playing it. 👍
So you spent cash to earn £11 worth of store credit. How long did you spend looking at games and checking CEX prices, cos if its more than 15 minutes total it's really not worth it
@@adambutterworth7608 you replied to my last comment I made on one of these videos, hello again. I'm not worried about his hourly rate tbh, I'm sure youtube ad revenue helps supplement the small gains (albeit thos gains been store credit) from flipping second hand games
I did it last week with the xbox controllers, bought 3, paid £114 got £135 voucher and because I spent over a £100 at game got a £20 gift voucher as well.
Whilst finding cheap games and 'turning' them for a profit is to be encouraged, I do it myself, it's my hobby and it makes a modest profit. However I have a problem with the premise of this series. CEX offers generally a poor valuation of things, you can get more eBaying. Secondly, CEX credit means you are forced to buy from them, their selling prices are almost always far more expensive than you can buy on ebay. They are good if you find something you want immediately and are willing to pay a premium for this. With patience you can usually acquire them from ebay cheaper.
As he's said himself he uses CEX because it's just more convenient. Also with eBay you have to deal with postage, waiting potentially ages for it to actually sell, scammers, etc. And for a lot of things bought in this series (games around £1-£15/20) there's not much reason to buy from eBay because the prices don't change much + postage. With that being said, consoles and specifically switch games are definitely better to buy on eBay/FB Marketplace etc because CEX are a bit pricy for switch games and definitely over price consoles. A DS Lite for example is around £60 in CEX but £20-£40 on eBay.
What you are doing generally works better with Switch games, as their average price tends to be higher than with Xbox One and PS4 etc. There is usually less of the 3 for 2 Switch games to look through as well, which saves some time.
To be fair FIFA, like most annual franchise games, is a bit of a "cash cow", most people buy it every year even though it's literally the exact same game every time.
@@XenoHunter616 You ain't missing much, I had a job interview at Grainger in October 2016, didn't get the job, turns out it was probably a good thing because about a month later the company went bust.
There is a Game in Cheltenham (moved upstairs of a department shop) if you live close to Gloucester.
I have done this so many times over the past several months. :) Great way to make some quick and easy money!

its more than 1 in some stores
The official rule in the corporate CEX store I work at is two or more of the same or similar enough items have to be bulk buy price requested.
Yes I have this in my area also, I just walk out of the shop and back in and treat it as a new transaction, gets around the bulk buy price.
I did even know Game still do traid in games tbh. I think it as gone off most people's radar. I remember GameStation what a store that's was. Great video keep it up.
I hate to be pedantic but Gamestation and Game were both the same company so they had the exact same naff trade in prices.
If you take more than 2 of the same item into cex they knock 20% off as they count it as a bulk trade in
depends on the cex staff really, some limit you to a limit of 2 copies of the same game some just 1 copy of the game but this was about 10 years ago
Im sure its till the same for a lot of places, one near me is full of jobsworths.
Really enjoyed your vid fella 🔥

Yep... anything over 1 copy is bought in at a reduced price

When I worked in a cex, you couldn't trade in more than 9 of the same thing and as long as you had proof of original purchase
Loving the constant videos please keep them up 😎👍
I tried to go to the GAME but couldn’t find any video games for the same price, on the CEX APP they all seemed to be cheaper. Any advice?
Take pictures of your receipts as the receipt paper can fade a lot over time.

Does the store credit add up over time? Meaning theoretically you could buy a £800 phone for maybe £350/£400
You can’t exchange multiple copy’s of the same game in cex by the way they will reject it
Liked and subscribed!
Great content 🙂
I tried to go to game and find some but they are all less credit in CEX any help would be great 😊
My cex won't take games without manuals they class them as cart only
It'll depend on the store i once took 3 copies of fifa 21 in CEX would only take 1.

they wont take more an 3 of the same product, well they will but they take of at least10%
Cool stuff
Cex won't take more than 3 copies of the same game in Ireland.. I just go back again later get a different server 😂
Hi i sent an email about an xbox incase you didn't see it
Why don’t you get a CEX card to store all your credit on rather than keeping the vouchers would be a lot easier pal
it doesnt work that way they either email you the voucher or print it out
Av still never worked out what having a cex card actually does for u
You can't take games from game to CeX

Most of the other retailers for games are just as bad if not worse, Grainger Games went bust just over 6 years ago.
