Niels: "I've switched to Luxilon 4G." Me, nodding along: "Oh, cool, I use 4G. Mostly because it lasts so long, I can almost get a month out of--" Niels: "Yea, I break it in about an hour and a half." Never been more clear that I am not playing the same sport as these dudes, lol. Incredible match!
@@iLukaSrb nah, 4G basically arrives dead off of the stringer, one of the main perks is that it has better tension maintenance than most other polys. He's breaking 'em.
Keep in mind it also depends on what kind of ball you're hitting. My buddies and I were college players and I had a full western so I would always break strings after a hitting session or 2 and long before players of equal/similar skill who hit a flatter ball with closer to an eastern grip
The Pancake is back!! Great match from these two. I think a lot about the experience gained playing on tour and it's awesome to see the juxtaposition of these two; someone having just decided to wrap up his pursuit while the other is just starting his. Dope!
As usual Diamond content Winston. Love Simon and kinda surprised to see him pull this off with him having trouble with the first serves. Amazing game regardless, full of intense ups and downs. Neils is just a beast in making. Cheers! M
Wow, what a great match between 2 of may favorite players! Thanks for bringing the excellent content Winston. I could watch these guys play all day long :)
Pretty cool to see how a USC freshman does against an ex-pro with that rank. Niels and Simon have great personalities. And love the questions. I will watch their futures with interest.
Wow, maybe I'm imagining some of it, but how much Neils has improved is astounding. It was especially apparent the first several games, but he looks faster, more balanced, and all of his shots are more purposeful. And he's obviously a smart, humble kid, who knows how good he can get. Great advice from Simon. It's not something that was obvious to me since I wasn't the one playing him, but that made a lot of sense. I don't think it's bad that Niels, at this point in his tennis evolution, is looking to hit more forehands and go for more, it's going to pay off one day, but that advice is something he can apply immediately in a close match. But, yeah, I think he's working towards improvement, and this match was more about that.
Here's where I think the match turned. Simon was working Niels' backhand early and all that did was let Niels groove his backhand. @15:26 Simon changes tactics and starts working Niels corner to corner. So yeah, just as Niels said in the beginning, they are working on his conditioning at USC. Simon won the battle of wits today. Talent was pretty similar.
Old pro gets a little “pushy” for the win. Unbelievable timing from Simon and huge hitting from Niels. Thank you for the content. Way better than highlights from TC.
Question.. If Niels saw the ball out at around 16:30 and Simon didn't, shouldn't he just self-ref and call it out? I don't understand why tennis players seem pretty content to take points when know their ball was out.
I've seen an arc in my history in/around tennis. As the '80s began it was very common for people to suggest playing "5 service points". People had become so sick of insane jockeying and even bad calls that they averred away from actual sets. It appears to be swinging back to an acceptance of the game as it is; cheating and all.
Curious to know about Niels grunting. Haven't heard him grunt like that before on the channel till this episode. Is it a conscious decision, or is the pace of the ball so heavy at this level that he is involuntarily grunting? Sounds like he's saying "Why-Aye" on his grunts. No disrespect by any means, just wondering.
@@AG-js1bl what does them being better than you have to do with my level? Also I know for a fact that no good tennis players would consider them pushers. So are you better than they are?

If it makes you feel better, they probably don’t brake in hour and half, but rather they go dead.
@@iLukaSrb Pretty sure he breaks them as he did in the video.

tiimestamp of him breaking strings?? pretty sure he didnt break the strings, stop spreading bs
"Dont underestimate the heaviness of your balls." Good advice.
On a rainy day, it's always great to get an upload from Winston and Karue.
Great match today; Simon and Niels 🙌
Thanks, Winston 👊
Niels always a fan favorite always seems like good chap to play. And Simon I’m going to miss his tour grind videos
Always good to see simon, good matchup

Winston vs MEP
I commented the same thing on Real Tennis channel.
Yes please.
They should kick off the next US Open with that
Is it the stubble or does Niels look like he has aged about 5 years in the space of 2 months
Probably stubble
Probably hyper aging
He gained 5 years of experience after a match like that.
I thought the same thing. I knew he was a college freshman, but I thought he looked like a senior.

Great play from both players. Looking forward to seeing Niels and his teammates @USC. Thx for the post Winston #Cheers

Yes Winston! Thanks for listening to us and getting Niels to hit with Simon. Fantastic. Top lad.

Awesome to see Simon on the channel... Great matchup today
I like the YT logo representing Simon. Funny....

he definitely got better and that's reflected in his recent UTR increase

2 humble guys
If Karue is taking a break off the Challengers, how bout a Simon/Karue matchup
that would be a fun one
I think they have already played in Karue’s channel or on Simon’s channel. I might be wrong though!
Goated matchup. Simons depth while playing against a spinny player like Niels was impressive
Niels serve was on point today! Great match between both of them ❤
Old pro gets a little “pushy” for the win. Unbelievable timing from Simon and huge hitting from Niels. Thank you for the content. Way better than highlights from TC.
Great match. I’m impressed that Niels is only 18 and a freshman, and yet he was able to hold his own against a pro.
Great match-up. Would love to see more closely matched players like Neils and Simon.
Niels is moving so well around the court.
interesting to see how much niels’ form has adjusted since he started uni 😮😮 mostly small stuff but the platform serve is interesting to see
I wish ATP would do highlights like this - every point, but without any filler.
Guys are straight class!!
Great video! We gotta get Winston to 100k!
Good to see Niels adopting Winston's service motion
The speed MP is phenomenal
Simon vs Karue!!!
Great video as usual Winston!!! Try to get Jules Marie on your channel against Karue.
Ha-wa-ai! Great match, jeeze louise!

Take what you can get. Simon had the best view anyway
Am also playing that Stiga racquet, love it
I feel like Niels should switch back to the pinpoint. Looked way more natural for him. Insane intensity from him 🔥
Both guys in a career transition, growing pains for Niels maybe and a bit of rust for Simon possibly. High quality tennis and an interesting matchup.

@Niels - I think you should move your back foot back a few more inches on the serve! Just my technical opinion
@Winston Du what tennis ball do you use for these matches?
Idk if it's the angle or what but it looks like Niels is hooking really hard on a lot of these calls
Lol i miss simon man :( so glad hes keeping his skills sharp
Awesome match!
Simon's pancake serve is a killer.
Loved simon!
highly entertaining match
Interesting that Niels changed his service motion so late in age

Lol, Winston trying to make them say "fudge"... No one wants to say "fudge" Winston.
It seems like that new Stiga frame is way too powerful for Simon. But he's an ex-pro and I'm not... so what do I know.
what courts?
Anyone realised Niels changed from a pinpoint to a platform serve?
briefly talked about it at 26:35
Niels changed his service motion no? He was a pinpoint server before. Curious if you could ask him why he made this change
briefly talked about it at 26:35
@@WinstonDuwhoops, commented before finishing the video. Awesome content!!
BABY SINNER!
bad day to be a tennis ball
Wow!
Is Niels saying "whack it" during his grunt??
Also, any tips on how to follow college tennis? Niels would be a fun one to watch

Kinda sounds like he says “why” 😅
why do you upload so late i miss your videos
How tall are Winston and Niels?
I think Niels is like 6'2" and Winston is 5'11"
I’d like to say 6’0 and 6’3 haha

08:40 how was it out???
Nope, was in by a lot actually. Winstonnnn, come on man! lol
4.0/4.5 men versus pro women dbls.
Solid 4.0 tennis
😂
Nothing impressive, just two pushers with no weight shots and average service, "pancake" server service is really bad serving.
I wouldn’t call them pushers, at this level they’re very good counterpunchers. Pushers would not make it anywhere near a 12.5+ UTR.
But more impressive than you by a large margin 😂
@@sayles7858 , you think in that way, maybe because you have the same level or less than winston.
@@Xaryn88 yes, counterpunchers is right.
