Sadly, there weren't many magazines left by the time Double Dragon 4 came out. That said, I did review it here: ruclips.net/video/h9ef0NOs62Y/видео.html
I love Super Double Dragon for the SNES. I wouldn't try to say that it is the best beat em up but for me it certainly is among the best. I really enjoy the slow and methodical approach the gameplay takes. The game can be frustrating and difficult the first time you play it because it doesn't play like a typical beat em up. Every character you come across can wreck your world and it is on you to counter and plan your attack accordingly. I really like that about the game. I also think the music is the best in the series. On another note the latest game in the series is pretty fun and i would recommend it to anyone on sale.
I’m confused why they couldn’t just release the collencntion as a single launcher, wouldn’t surprise me if it turns out to be that physical edition QOTD: yeah, I’m a sucker for neon from the lyrical tunes to the sheer fact the big bad ended up as a shop-keep in the now presently sister series to kunio-kun, river city girls
Kinda weird they're releasing this collection on Switch when the NES versions of DD 1 and 2 can be played on the Switch Online NES app. Both great games.
Well, at this time I only played through the first 2 games and both were so hard, I'm not sure I would ever do it again. That being said, the second one is definitely better than the first, so that has my pick as favorite so far.
I've never actually played more than a few minutes of any of the Double Dragon games xD I really have no excuse, I have an NES Classic and an NSO subscription, they're just kind of on my "I'm gonna play these one day" list
Cartridges in the UK were a lot more expensive especially that compared to Amiga and Atari St releases. Usually they were about twice the price. So a cartridge-based game had to be really really great to get good scores
Man, some of those games were all over the place. For the record i hated super double dragon. Yep because of the slow sluggishness of it. Wish the collection had the master system version. I'm really surprised at the mid scores for double dragon advance. It's been seen in a better light after the years. QOTD, my favorite double dragon is a tie between Double Dragon 2 and double dragon advance.
Super Double Dragon surprise me when I try it on an emulator years ago. It's slower than I was expecting but at the same time the gameplay is deep, with a lot of moves to learn and master. My favorites are 2 and the first arcade game, but Super is not bad in my opinion.
So, with this rerelease, got to wonder if they're going to fix the name from Bimmy to Billy, or keep it the same. 😉 As for the question, think I'll agree with you on Double Dragon 2. Probably was the one of the 3 Double Dragon games I played the most on dad's old NES.
The rights to Double Dragon should've been given to ATLUS who published the Advance version. Arc System Works isn't doing jack-squat for the franchise except milking the classic games, and ripping off TMNT: Shredder's Revenge just to slap Double Dragon Gaiden on store shelves.
I know its kinda of " cheating" but is there a way in this collection bundle to freeze the time or give infinite lives in double dragon 1 for NES?? I didn't manage to finish the first game even on emulator because time ran out and got a game ove :S
I`m a bit dissapointed with this DD collection. Imo the only reason to get it, is for Super Double Dragon and its sped up framerate option. It makes that game 10 times more awesome. All the other games tho are kind of meh imo. Peeps will argue Double Drag Advance is the best here and I personally think that game is a mess. The og nintendo games are not bad but i`d rather just play the og arcade game then a dumbed down 8 bit port. And double dragon 4 is a frustrating game that llacks any kind of fun factor at all. This collection is only for hardcore fans. Glad I own it, but at sametime kind of silly cus the only game ill be revisiting it is super double dragon
Way more people are going to have access to this than play on emulation. While it won't be for everybody, it's a good thing that compilations like this exist, if only for game preservation (and passing on the greatness of Double Dragon to an audience that would not otherwise play it).
I swear, this channel is better advertising for some of these collections than the publishers themselves. Didn't even know this was coming out.
Super double dragon is one of my favourite games of all time double dragon advance is a good game too
I like how you read comments from Mean Machines. I adored this magazine.
What about DD4? I thought you were going to cover that too since it's also part of the collection.

Believe it or not I'm still a huge fan of double dragon the arcade game for the Sega genesis. VERY underrated
DD2 Famicom version is the best in the series, followed by Advance. Thankfully you can purchase these games separately.
Kinda weird they're releasing this collection on Switch when the NES versions of DD 1 and 2 can be played on the Switch Online NES app. Both great games.
I don’t think it’s a Nintendo published game .

Utter nonsense. Price has nothing to do with anything. A good game was a good game. I bought rubbish games, they cost the same price.

Double dragon advance is super underrated i think its the best of the series

My favorite Double Dragon game is Super Double Dragon 🐉🐉
Super Double Dragon was where it truly felt like a Bruce Lee-inspired game.
The first three of the Arcade and NES felt more like The Warriors.

The typo will definitely be fixed. Past re-releases have cleaned up the famous misspelling.
DD2 on nes is the only one I ever had to have.
Boy, speaking of Double Dragon, how have you not reviewed the new game: Double Dragon Gaiden?
Mean Machines was my favourite magazine as a kid.
The rights to Double Dragon should've been given to ATLUS who published the Advance version.
Arc System Works isn't doing jack-squat for the franchise except milking the classic games, and ripping off TMNT: Shredder's Revenge just to slap Double Dragon Gaiden on store shelves.
We're you serious about that new Double Dragon 4 Ceril? What didn't you like about it? I thought it was fine and fun.
I gave it a C- back when it first came out. Check out my video review: ruclips.net/video/h9ef0NOs62Y/видео.html

No Atari Double Dragon tho’

Please let there be modern controls.

uhhh why would we be done with the greatest game of the year mario wonder??
I wouldn't take the intro too seriously, as I was mostly just wanting to pivot from one set of video game brothers to another -- Billy and Jimmy.
@@DefunctGames that hurt mario and luigi's feelings though and the wonder flowers
There's nothing really special about this collection. Emulators give more than this.
