      I mean.. chicago had an amazing season that year, but the refs robbed the kings. The non-call on bickell was brutal. Without that, kings probably win, and probably get the cup. Not that it matters. Shortened season wins shouldnt even get engraved. Kings and Hawks were so great back then!

      @domenicsimsiris2921 3 года назад +3

      As a Kings fan it was the best hockey I’ve ever seen! Two beyond star-studded teams, incredible offense and defense, (and incredible goalie in Johnny Quick)! Growing up in Toronto (where they sucked) my two fav. teams were these two, so many likeable players. So many of them may not get the credit they deserve (like people saying Bergeron is better than Toews) but they got IT DONE on the ice, which is the only thing that matters! Four cups in four years, five cups in six, truly incredible! Too bad Kaner got that 2OT winner in game 5, or else that one would’ve went seven as well, no doubt. Kings deserve more respect, they are forgotten unfortunately.

    • @collixioncowboy
      @collixioncowboy 3 года назад +3

      @@domenicsimsiris2921 agreed. the kings decline was rapid but what they did in those 2 cup winning seasons was nothing short of incredible. barely making the playoffs as the 8th seed and running through everybody to win the cup in 2012 and then winning 3 straight game 7’s on the road in 2014 all just to soundly beat the rangers in the final to win the cup deserves respect.

    • @patrickj.b5399

      - Revenge Factor/Rematch
      - Seven Games (and an OT finish)
      - Multiple Overtimes
      - PHYSICALITY
      - Star Studded Teams (Toews, Kane, Keith, Seabrook, Hossa, Sharp) vs (Brown, Richards, Carter, Kopitar, Doughty, Williams, Quick)
      - Great coaches (Sutter vs Quenneville)
      - Offense, yet both terrific defensive teams
      - High Stakes (trip to the final, but really the Cup on the line, legacies on the line)
      - An established rivalry, yet high respect for the other (similar to Brady & Manning)

Matthews has a nice career ahead of him, but he'll never be on Patty's level, hell Matthews ain't even gonna be on Mike Modano's level if he don't get out of Toronto, and he's arguably the second best american born player to ever lace up the skates.

    Great list, but I believe the Game 5 tying goal against Nashville in 2010 should have made the list. Still check out that replay every once in a while.

      That would absolutely make the list. It should be in the spot the Showtime goal is in in this list. The Showtime goal is big in Kane's personal legend (bc it invented the nickname) but it's hardly a top 10 moment by itself. That 2010 goal was the key goal of the entire Hawks dynasty. An incredibly clutch moment, and the only shorthanded goal Kane has ever scored (or ever will).

    Calder trophy, Conn Smythe, OT-Cup winner to end a 49-year cup drought for an original six franchise, 3 Stanley Cups, the Hart Trophy, and several others that I don't remember now... and it's still fun to watch him play... can't really accomplish much more in the game of hockey...

      5 OT playoff winners, including 3 to win series (1 to win the whole season) and another to keep his team's season alive. In on the key plays of all 3 Cup clinchers. Led his prime decade in points. Most clutch player of his generation, most exciting player of his generation. Probably the most looked up to and popular w young players player of his generation.

    What’s crazier is all the stuff that didn’t make the list.
    Game 6 Hat Trick VS VAN in 2009
    Game 6 GTG SHG VS NSH in 2010
    26 game point streak in 2015-16
    2-0 goal VS TB in Game 6 of the SCF
    1000th point VS WPG last season
    And this all off the top of my head, I’m sure Hawks fans could think of more. Absolutely insane career.

      @georgial6398 3 года назад

      The 3 playoff goals/games you list plus the point streaks should have been on the list over the Showtime goal, the Canadiens highlight reel goal, the spinorama highlights, etc. And if the Lehner goal was on here it should have been as part of a set w him generally destroying Buffalo in Buffalo.

    Any of these top 10 moments could be a top 1 for almost any other player...it’s like Kane has 10 top 1s if that makes sense 😳.
