I don't think anyone understands really how to include enough protein, as people think that nuts and legumes are protein dominant when they are of course carb dominant. A lot of the problem is the advertisements being given to us that are funded by lobbies, not exactly in favor of our health as opposed to in favor of taking your money. By the way, you have every right to monetize your channel and put as many hours as you want on it. They put a whole lot more in a 30 minute sitcom on television can you just do it in an hour.

Im a long term follower.... and I have utterly loved your channel until recently. I noted the negative comments regarding the adverts you are doing within these podcast videos and i wondered if you would consider how followers felt as you have done in the past. I had to smile (Im a Brit, we have a dry sense of humour!) that there were three ads before the start this week... one more than last week!! Whereas no one would blame you for monetising your channel i do feel theres a balance. In 16 minutes there were 6 ads - thats an ad every couple of minutes or less. Please Dominique dont lose sight of your values and the original reason you started the channel .... and why we subscribed xx

Dominique and Courtney addressed this issue in a previous video.
I'll get right to the point.
She has every right to monetize her channel it’s her full-time job.
      Do you work for free?
      I don't.
We all have bills to pay.
She's going into an agreement with these sponsors and I'm sure they have their terms as well. They don't work for free either.
She's very selective in her endorsement options, always thinking of what would benefit all of us the most.
She's kind enough to post her podcast content here so we can skip ads.
Apple is annoying, but also has its perks.

I'm a 51 year old woman and I work out hard. I do heavy lifting and HIIT. I weigh 155 pounds and I was eating 155 grams of protein. I just had my blood work and apparently my kidney is suffering from all of the protein. I never had an issue previously with my kidney. The moral of the story is everyone is telling us to eat mega amount of protein, check your kidney to stay safe. Apparently 1.2 gram of protein/ kg of weight is good. So apparently I should be eating 84 grams protein. With loads of studies backing this up for postmenopausal women. The moral of the story is just because somebody is setting a number for you, does not mean it's in your best interest or health. Take care of yourself and check your kidney!!

I have never heard of such a high number though. I have tried for about 65-75 grams, not my body weight as a guide. When Kelley talks about the meals, she always adds that we would need to add 1-2 protein shakes per day to acquire that level of protein. That just sounds yukky to me to have to buy something from unwhole ingredients in a jar. I think everyone should check with their physician first about this high level.

A woman who weighs 145 is around 66 kilograms. So 1 gram of protein per kilogram is 66 grams of protein just to maintain. You should increase your kilograms of protein for building muscle.

I think that makes so much sense. I do not think I could get my protein in 1 grams per body weight. It causes constipation for me :*( I weigh 150 so I get around 70 75 grams per day.

Hi from Annie it is great to stay fit I always think of how your mum was so much into the gym each day and she looked ravishing at her age a real beauty. You are also very fit and skinny and tall. I am 100kg and about 5ft4 so not that tall and should be no more than 80-85kg weight goes up n down lose 5kg with out tryn then when I try it just sits there that weight. It goes up and down etc. Recently started stronger percentage up to 3% of estrogen compound cream that has helped a bit with the way I feel and mood is better they say it should help to slim n shape the body so will see. Have had few falls due to nerve damage in left ankle after melanoma skin cancer op ten yrs ago it has been upsetting at times as put on 15kg just within month of op back then and its been hard to get it to stay off etc. When you have had a few falls on hard surfaces etc you d become afraid etc as you said. You try to protect those body parts and not do as much exercise as should. I also had a message to telegrame you but not sure how to do that can you enlighten me on that.

Can she speak to the impact of high protein on kidneys. My cousin said he became very ill on 1gm per body weight. This is why we should have a physical prior to major changes.

Dominique thank you for covering this important topic. After listening to Kelley I realize that I'm not eating enough protein as I'm sure most of us are not. I'll be increasing that from this point on. I was in accident a few years ago and was told to be careful with the way I move because I could cause more injury to myself which I don't want. While watching this video and hearing what Kelley was saying there are things I can do to build muscle which make me feel positive about the future. Crazy thing I was an exercise nut getting up at 4:30 am before going to work to workout for an hour and then walked with the dogs for about 45 minutes when I got home. All that changed after my accident which has truly changed my life.

I wish i had a fitness/ workout buddy 💪 like Kelly or Dominique. I need accountability, safety precautions, and a slower pace in order to be successful in a routine. I used a Schwinn exercise bike for many years, 3-4 days a week, and that honestly kept me fit and energetic and mindful. Along with a whole foods based diet. I have physical limitations now, miss by bike 🚲 riding tremendously but am still trying to eat well. Thank you Dominique for this great inspirational interview, and for your great example. 🌞🌷🌺

Yes, Dr Ken Berry, Thomas DeLouer, and others have been discussing the importance of higher protein and low carb and less sugar on their RUclips channel platforms for many years now. I still eat my veggies, but try to make sure i have protein also. I'm not getting any younger, and physical activity is severely limited for me, so i try to make sure at least my diet is decent. And including healthy, beneficial fats in our diet is also important. Since our brain is 70 percent fat. Diet and exercise is also important for brain and cognitive health into our later years. Great topic and video today. 🌞

Remember your mind is the engine that drives you. Also you got to find what works for you and enjoy the workouts. Plus 80% is what you eat. Think of it as fuel for your body. I usually eat a 80/20 diet alittle treat is. Coming in from Macedon Ranges Victoria Australia.❤💕
