I really enjoyed this "video-cast". I think that in the "long game" there is honestly Nothing more important in a woman's life (outside of her children) than her deep connections with other like minded women. Even IF a woman has a GREAT relationship with a man/partner/husband/wife, there honestly is No substitute for a deep heartfelt friendship relationship. And this should be honored & treasured.

Hi Dominique, I enjoyed this podcast so much. Thank you so, so much, to you and Holly! I went to Miraval eight years ago when I was going through a lot of emotional upheaval. They were holding a wellness, mindfulness, retreat, and partner with More magazine. It is one of the best things I ever did for myself. I am proud to this day of how I put myself outside of my comfort zone. I did a zip line, I did a 3 1/2 mile hike in the desert, and did a floating meditation, where we hung from the rafters and silks. Of course, the camaraderie with the other woman was just terrific. I bought myself two things in their gift shop that I see every day one is on my fridge, it’s a magnet that says life begins at the end of your comfort zone. I also bought a heart shaped rock that says remember on it. I have that on my bathroom counter And every time I see it, I remember what strength I am capable of, emotionally, and physically.

It's so tough to lose a best friend. Mine just started excluding me. She walked into my house one day and mentioned that (due to work) we had not been together as friends for quite a while. It is so painful. She seems so hard. I am a believer, she is the opposite, so I tell myself that maybe this was meant to be. Still, painful. I hope you find someone. I'm 72. I moved to France 12 years ago, and that makes it even a bit more difficult.

I read that sometimes friends come into our lives to help us thru the journey of life and may not always be meant to be forever. It still hurts tho.

I am 65, an evangelist for fifteen years, and waiting for my prodigals to come home, so to speak, It has been gut wrenching to say the least. I feel your pain, I'm 64 my daughter and I speak however she seems so distant. She's now married has really no time for me. I've been coping only because of my faith. Our children don't really don't belong to us, they're with us only for a short while. Maybe one day when she's older she may realize what we've missed out on. I take solace in the fact that I'm grateful for the time I had with her and that we're all in the hands of God. He ultimately takes care of everything ❤️

I am in my late 30s but I feel forming new friendships has become such a challenge.
But this perspective from the video helps me realize it's part of this segment of my life, and lifestyle. The friends I'm closest to are primarily my husband's friends, and friends from Middle school/elementary. But it's just intermittent contact. They are all over the U.S.
My husband and I both have felt betrayed and abandoned by friends. We ARE the best of friends which is such a blessing. ❤ We are so busy with our family and work that we honestly don't have much time when we do meet new friends.
But it's always in the back of my mind that "what if" we finally have less work, or kids fly the best etc and we realize we have an emptiness.
This video is very comforting. Including Holley's experience with medical challenges of course!!!! Strong woman. ❤
I feel the same way about sharing when it comes to my faith. I try hard not to come off pushy with my Christianity, but it gives me such joy to think maybe I could help someone explore that. Because it's brought so much to my life and legitimately saved my life, my marriage, and sanity. But I know a lot of people are offended by that and boundaries *are* vital and knowing when to pull back. 🕊️
    God bless 🙏✨

I am single and 62 and just moved within the last 2 months. I realized that I miss friendships of worth. While I do have a monthly call with my longest and dear friend, I need face-to-face interactions as well. So I contacted two women friends in my area and let them know that I hoped we could hang out together - at least once a month. I am in a new phase, and need to figure out what I can do now to grow and what works for me now vs 10 years ago. I am so fortunate to have a sister (biological type) that we can share everything with each other. This podcast reminded me so much of how special and sacred that kind of connection is. I am so grateful for your sharing these conversations with us, Dominique. Thank you.

It's wonderful that you Dominique has found a sister friend.❤ I find it so draining a friend that is compatible to me. I'm a single happy person at 53 for medical reasons no kids, but I am an introvert so I love my space and the friends that I meet.... leave me emotionally drained. I am taking care of my mom who is 84 and I am comfortable where I am... search for companionship is still there. And let Holly know we all have been there I ran out of gas and it was at night busy intersection and the car behind me had pushed me to the side and I was terrified it was that night I had the windows rolled up he went to go get me some gas I never got out of my car he was my angel .... blessed and I thanked him but I actually wasn't able to know who he was and I just wanted to go home I was tired from a long day at work and was very drained. I was blessed and I really feel it was my angel Archangel watching over me that night LOL❤ best wishes on your journey U2!☕️🤗😘🌻

I 100% agree with Holly on that cleanse. There is nothing to cleanse that your liver and lungs can’t handle. People can eat whatever they want but cleanses have been debunked. I’m not sure why anyone is still doing these???

I have always been a girlfriend person, but finding out that some as not as nice, loyal or sincere as they seem, has been a real eye opener. Wonderful if you find a woman of integrity and with the same mindset and as trustworthy as you.

Thank you so much for this- absolutely what I needed to hear today! I have been very blessed throughout my life with many good friends, but most have gone away. And I am now ok with that- Knowing that God puts people into our lives for a moment, a time, a season- For what we need at that time in our lives. I have two very precious women in my life now- that I know I can call on at any time of day or night and they will be there for me! We laugh and cry together- friendships I can not live without!
Thank you again, for this podcast to help us feel ok in this stage of life. (I am a fellow 50something woman with so many changes going on in this life- menopause, aging parents, becoming empty nesters, seeing the light of retirement in the future…) May God bless you both !! ❤

I really appreciate the friendship, and I am open and attentive to the signs and in my 40 years I bring the ones I conquered like precious pearls, ( I am Brazilian married to an American ) Leaving your friends and family and going to live in another country is as if your life became a blank book, but I believe that in due time I will win a darling for a good laugh, and legitimate support. Because there are blessings in that sharing.

I must admit, I am and have been, for many years, the worst friend to others. I have been completely immersed in starting a business so I could for once in my life, earn money from doing something I love. Every job I ever had was a bore and daily reminder of my failure. I did not value friendships. Well, it's never too late as long as I'm living! Thank you for this video. It makes me realize the value of friendships.

Really inspiring to witness a BFF connection that materialized so quickly! While I experienced a fast connection like that with my husband of 18 years, I haven't had a _mutual_ fast bond with any female yet (I'm 46 y/o). I want solid female platonic friendships that are mutually supportive/beneficial.
When Holley talked about her tendency to not cry, I thought back to when I was first learning to cry in my early adult years. As an infant, I was adopted into a German family, and Germans are not known for warmth--my parents did not like their kids crying, and I can remember them sternly telling me "stop crying". So in my 20s, I had to learn to allow myself to express tears if I was sad/hurting. Now, I view crying as sort of the opposite of laughing: they both last for a brief moment whenever the intensity of an emotion reaches its crescendo. The moment comes and goes, as far as the physical expression of an intense emotion.
I usually don't listen to long podcasts, but I did the entire length of this one. Completely laughed when Holley talked about sitting on her couch days after the retreat, meanwhile Dominique was doing a ton of things. Holley offered to bring over some wine or "how can I help?" _because I'm going back to my couch!_ Loved that. No apologies. Live and let live.

Super wonderful, Dominique. I loved your guest, too. Authentic and smart, your Holly. I am not a woman of faith in the way we generally use that term. Certainly a person of great faith in people, the future, love, humanity. Some may think that would build a big wall between us, but I love your show and also love that you say what you want to say, including about faith. You remain inclusive to all and somehow your fairy dust is making me feel better, let me stand taller, smile and be better for others when I take in your podcast. All good. Keep up the good work.

I lost myself, & respect of myself per say as well because I was not only afraid of my ex "bond", not ex husband...( because I was legally bound & not legally/happily married, that I was afraid of where to turn or where to go to escape because I had no car, no family, no bank account.
