I didn't do written goals per se in 2024, but I did have many projects over the year. My one step for this week will be to turn in my assignments for the online course I'm taking that wraps up on Saturday.
MY WEEKLY WIN: Decorating for Thanksgiving. I have seasons and holidays in my soul, but struggled with some depression the past few years and stopped engaging like I used to. It felt so good to reconnect with myself in that way. 🦃🍁🌽 2024 GOAL #: 8️⃣ - I use 8 life areas and constantly strive to lead a more balanced life. I feel like the 8 areas helps me remember what matters most to me & helps keep me making small progress in each of them.
I didn’t set any goals this year as I always felt like goals would go the same route as my new year’s resolutions… Start with a load of them starting January 1st and having them sizzling down by February 1st. But maybe I have been to hard on myself or made things hard for myself for setting up to much for myself (too much goals) or not making the steps small enough or not being clear enough on the why. I want to restart setting goals but want to set myself up for success this year so I start to believe in myself again… Maybe that’s the main issue: I don’t believe that I can accomplish my goals so I don’t set up goals. Guess starting small might work.
Yes, you are not alone! I would definitely recommend a few things - less goals and smaller steps to help make sure you are getting wins to build that confidence! Also, make sure the goals actually matter to YOU. Instead of carrying the same ones over year after year, make sure these are goals you actually care about.
My win: Is I made a task list of stuff I want to get done from the November 21 through 30th while hubby is gone on his hunting vacation in South Dakota. Leaving Thanksgiving Day open for just me time .
I set my goals in categories similar to Maske Life. I used 6 categories with 2 to 5 goals in each. So I had a total of 18 goals. Some were one and done type things and some required work each week. I have a question about goals that are not totally in your control. I always set some financial goals such as savings and paying off debt. However I do not work and my husband's income is variable. When the income doesn't allow for saving as much as I had set the goal for, how do I adjust so I don't feel like I'm failing?

I would recommend setting a % goal in this case - make it a goal to pay off a % and/or save a % of your husband's income each month!
Goal : Is to set up my two folders tables in the back room to start decluttering paperwork.
