Did you know that karting goes up to adult classes. For example, the 250 kart class round long circuits can reach 140 mph. Although I don't think long circuit is very exciting so I like the Idea of the KZ short circuit which is on normal kart tracks so is very busy.
After the first year, what are the costs of these two option since you own the car: 1) Re-doing the same season the year after 2) Leveling up a season *tires, brakes, servicing, season fees...etc
It was great to see mate you got a podium it looked like alot of fun hope to see you in another race series soon! Hope everyone had a good Christmas should just about be sober for NYE 😂
Thank you, fun video! Hope you are well, seeing the backdrop, how about a MRJWW Book Review? And I wish Caterham in the near future will be into Rallying with the cars! Best for the New Year 👍
In the US, the SCCA has lots of different classes that are inexpensive. Miatas are one class but also Formula V if you want open wheel. Formula 500 using snowmobile motors. And a lot of the lower sports car classes can be very inexpensive. BMW CCA has racing classes for club racers. Some driving schools offer a series using their cars too. Plenty of opportunities.
Would love to have seen more of how you improved during your videos not just the race,- showing your test days, going through the ARDS, what you can and can’t change on the car, did you do it on your own or did you have a couple of mates helping in the paddock kind of thing.
Sounds indeed like a good deal, especially as it includes ownership of the car. If starting from scratch, you’ll probably need to add your gear as well What happens the year after ? You do need to upgrade or could you stick in the same series ? PS other countries having this Caterham cup going on ?
Hi James, happy new year! I don't think I caught in that video how you went in the series, where you ended up. I saw where you picked up a podium and every video I saw you were competitive.
Go Karts are top fun but I have heard of 100k per year in that level as well. I have a Formula K Kart (the Praga Family) and am looking forward to next years race series.
@mr JWW - James I couldn't agree more with the words you just spoke. I think its a shame you won't be in the Caterham paddock next season. Who will I make a brew for now?? Thank for the chat we had in my awning at Brands Hatch. Good luck with your new venture, Lawrie .
Thanks for exemplary content. Congrats on the studio and the Chronicles series and sharing the passion. Re the race review... Whilst the £30k is a sum I will never see, it's a bargain, to come out with a license, real race experience, and a car to do more should you so wish. Back to you, love the content, the delivery and the format.... all the best for 2021 I will be watching!
Quote me if I am wrong, but British f4 cost less than 18k, that is what I have read on the website... I know the fact that you don't walk away with a car but still thats very good for an open wheel series
That is just championship registration and race entry fees. On top of that you would need many tens of thousands of pounds to rent a car, team support and running costs such as tyres.
Shame this came in 2020 - the “affordable” way I can race atm is to grab a dinner plate as a wheel and watch f1/dtm/Karting races with my race lid on on the sofa (and that’s if I can afford my cable/broadband bill to watch those races! Haha) All seriousness - hoping to have the chance to do this in the future though.
James you have amazing taste in cars and a fantastic collection over the years. I see the Ibanez sat next to you, do an equally impressive guitar collection? Do you get to play as much since the meteoric rise of your channel on RUclips?
@@MrJWW well always noticed you have pretty good taste in music over the years in the videos. I can vaguely remember you singing in the car with Paul or Sam. Sam plays guitar as well. You two should get together and play and upload for us to see. (Ps. You do the best quality car content on this platform and deserve all the success you have achieved. Thanks for all the work/hours and effort).
So .. are you doing the 2021 Roadsport Championship (?) ... you alluded to it and if 'yes' what's the upgrade cost and items changed on the car? I'm doing the Academy in '21 :)
I am pleased to see you are still as unrelatable as ever James. £30k for a season and this is the 'cheapest way to go racing'? I assume 750 motor club is beneath you?
You could sell the car for £20k at the end of the season. Meaning £10k gets you ards, full race license after signatures, race kit, entry to all the races, tyres fuel etc.
Any video, especially in the UK - which has one of the highest rates in the world, that shows COVIDiots not wearing masks while in close quarters instantly earns my disrespect. Do better.
£30k for a season of racing and you get to keep the car at the end of it. Seems like great value for money
It really is - I know £30k is ... £30k! But in the world of racing that is cheap and the car holds the value pretty well too
@@MrJWWif you crash in the season. Is it repaired by yourself or the team.. do they cover the transporting of the car
Caterham is basically a go kart for grownups i would LOVE to have a go in one.
£99 per day hire caterham manchester out for
@David Brown Incredibly cold!

Agree. Who cares if they look ‘aspirational’ or not? Personally I’m glad they don’t, they’re about racing not image.
Epic year James. Epic videos. Thank you for all the new collabs such as the Bunker and the Koenigsegg series. Legendary underrated channel
Big roundup video on the year coming soon!
James may went off-road in my country that is Madagascar in a Caterham and that shows how much the brand is capable of
Ha ha yes pretty crazy!
@@MrJWW that episode of Grand Tour was amazing
He should do a review on the Caterham 620R
In Summer I shall!
One of my favorite videos is of the stig throwing a caterham around the top gear track. Love it
James, you have done a great job of introducing us to Caterham racing. Very exciting.
I am doing the Academy in 2022 and expecting the car to arrive in January. Having watched this content, I am even more excited than I was before!
Hope 2021 is a better year for all. Thank you James have a great one
Great work on a successful year. Can't wait for 2021 content!!
Love the race series. It's fun and the 30k is a good deal for those who don't know racing
that looks insanely fun man. hope to try it one day 🤞

Really enjoyed watching the racing video's and nice to see you going back to do it all again in '21.
HNY.
Cheers.
Great video. Very tempted as love driving and do a few track days.
Thanks 🤙🏼
It would’ve been good to see a bit more of it James!

Looking forward to seeing the content in 2021. Let’s hope COVID make life a little easier!
Hi James, happy new year! I don't think I caught in that video how you went in the series, where you ended up. I saw where you picked up a podium and every video I saw you were competitive.
I love the being open...mind also talking about the Praga series in the same fashion(with permission from the officials of course)
Great videos for 2020 , keep up the good work , see you on the other side 🍻🍾🥂
Happy new year 🎆 Mr Jww.
Nice video & thanks for sharing - Ciao from Italy !
Glad you enjoyed 👍🏻
Ye ! Love your videos ! Why don t you also try the Radical sr1 championship ?
No, super sport go carts are the most affordable and I'd argue fun way to go racing.
I think James forgets for the rest of the population a cheap caterham is still a very expensive car
Go Karts are top fun but I have heard of 100k per year in that level as well. I have a Formula K Kart (the Praga Family) and am looking forward to next years race series.

Great update jww. So when will see the car agin on the channel make great car for you know as a fun road car
Caterham will return to the channel at some point I’m sure

Great cars....a British icon
I would love to try racing one of these!
If you can you must!
I’ll make it happen!
Greetings from south afirca🤙
I’m interested in the guitar.
Legends Racing is another option, very close competitive racing.

DA DIVEBAMB at 03:44 😱😱😱
Ive always wanted one, but there is only one Caterham supplier in Canada and they charge ridiculous premiums.

So how much is the car worth after you're done racing it? They could make it cheaper and rent the cars for the season
Not far off the original value - Caterhams hold pretty strong 👍🏻
30k is very cheap. So about 17k of that 30k is for the car and the other 13k is for track time and funding the series. Yea thats a deal bro.
Hi James. Great video. What’s the plans going forward? Are you going to do the roadsport series, or just keep the car for track days? Cheers
Endurance Racing a Praga R1T in Britcar!
Where’s Road Rat 5???
I wonder which one is faster : caterham 7 vs lotus 7 s1 vs lotus 7 s2...
P. S ik that they r the same cars but they do both have different engines...
How much did it cost to fix your car after the incidents?
I thought 30k was expensive, until you said that included the car 😅 what model Caterham is it?
Are you keeping the car, James?
Do you get to keep the Caterham car?
Yes
Steve via ibanez?
Is there an equivalent of this series is in the US?
You know, I’m not sure 🤔
We release Copyright Free Music every Sunday & Wednesday for all content creators to use!
Is there a version of this for the US?
I dont think so. Getting into racing in the U.S. starts with go karts. As far as I know
Yeah I would love this in the US
Also Fun Cup VW
There are cheaper ways to have more driving fun....
What would your suggestions be?
A JEM !
$30k including the car? Pretty good
And you keep the car - brilliant
Just one thing, where is The Road Rat number 5?
At The Bunker 😂👍🏻
Where’s the AP???
Affordable to you? Maybe not so for many others, particularly who watch this...
and hundreds of others.
I wish this existed in the US, another reason to get out of here!
Early squad
