    I cant believe this game
Round 1 - Took me a while to realize where I was and eventually started looking at the south of Chile and found Puerto Natales which sounded similar to the shop name. Found the intersection and it was a perfect score, though I didn't get there as fast as Tom.
Round 2 - Recognized Japan of course, but the round seemed familiar to me and then it clicked that I've actually had this exact round before, a long time ago and I even remember seeing a clue about a highway number. So I followed the highway number and clicked on Niigata because I faintly remember that being where this round took place the first time I played it. Not quite a perfect score but a damn lucky round.
Round 3 - Holy shit, unbelievably I've ALSO had this round before, and I remember it being in Albania but I didn't know which town. Now I was determined to find this place, so I looked in about 10 different towns for this road and somehow managed to find it thanks to the american mode shop, so another perfect score!
Round 4 - Saw the museum name, figured it must translate to Costa Rican museum of Arts or something along those lines, so I looked for this museum that I assumed to be in San Jose purely because it's the biggest city in Costa Rica. Found it and once again, a perfect score. This is the luckiest game I've ever had surely the last round can't mess it up right?
Round 5 - Well shit. It's somewhere in africa, but I have no clue where this could be. I did try to use the sun but didn't find it too useful so I just went with my gut and clicked in Kenya. And just like that my luckiest game went to shit lmao. Idk how Tom just goes, "oh yeah lets go Senegal" the man is insane

There's a 116 national road sign to the left, facing the bigger road, that was the key clue. Spent like 15 minutes trying to find it (as in classic Geoguessr fashion, found everything between 110 and 120 in 2 minutes except for 116), when I found it I clicked anywhere in Niigata where the road layout looked close enough.
Tbf some of these clues are so well hidden, on the Albania round as another commenter pointed out there's the city name on a manhole when you face straight downwards onto the road. Never in a million years would I have found that.

Rules for Africa : Tunisia looks dry mediterranean, speaks arabic, a lot of black plates (not to mistake with Jordan), drives on the right
Senegal speaks french, very dry sahelian vegetation, drives on the right but mostly dirt roads. Roof racks
Ghana has black tape on one of the roof rack (really easy clue, 100% accurate), looks quite green almost like brazil sometimes, drives on the right, speaks english
Nigeria often has a police car following you, not always. English, right side driving. Landscapes like Ghana
Kenya drives on the left and speaks english, quite green too.
Uganda is very similar to Kenya but much rarer.
These 4 are very similar, driving side and black tape are the best clues. I don't know how to distinguish Uganda and Kenya.
Botswana is extremely dry, very flat with very dusty white ground
Lesotho is very mountainous, almost no trees and freen low grass
South Africa sometimes looks a lot like Australia, dutch looking names can be helpful. (Also SA has yellow side and white middle lines, Australia is full white).
eSwatini is quite green and mountainous, a bit like Lesotho but with more vegetation

@GeoWizard, on the Japan map you missed the route 116 sign. Took me 25 minutes to find route 116, then spent another 15 minutes following it. You can also see the four symbols on the same sign as route 116 that indicate the intersection. I spent another 15 minutes scrolling along route 116 until I saw an intersection that matched the street layout and confirmed it was correct with the four symbols and ended up 1m from the pin :D

1 - chilenian flag. Searched for Bernardo O'Higgins and thought it is a town, found the national park and the lake with that name, looked further south and found Puerto Natales, which correlates with the shop name. Looked for the street names and found the junction. 2m - 5000
2 - saw the japanese road number sign. Searched for the 116, took me a while. No more clues, that i could have used, clicked somewhere near Tsubame. Bit too south. 28km - 4901
3 - looked like a balcan state to me. Went for serbia, Novi Sad. Too north. 522km - 3448
4 - went for Costa Rica, cause of the museum. Zoomed into capital, searched for a big street nort to south, zoomed further in and immediately found the museum, park behind the museum and bank national (BN) on the other side of the road confirmed my decision. 5m - 5000
5 - had absolutely no clue, went for ghana, way off. 1902km - 1292
    Total: 19641

    I was so frustrated with:
    1) you pointing out the sky in Albania, because I'd probably have known the country from that (guessed Hungary).
    2) how quickly you found the museum, when I spent half an hour searching around San José.
Oh well, still fun like always :) Also the 25k in Chile helped a bit.

I haven't played this in a while, managed to confuse myself a bunch.
    1. Immediately thought Chile, but then misled by Argentinian town names and a lack of mountains to the east, didn't think to double check. Should have given more credence to a very blurry URL with a country code that looked like it might be more consistent with Chile's than Argentina's. 150 km or so.
    2. No clue where to look inside Japan besides that the vegetation said probably Honshu, just put down a marker in a flattish area outside Tokyo. 200 something km.
    3. Misled again, this time by the word "tapete" (referring to rugs) on the store sign. Recognized a Romance language cognate and picked Romania. 500- something km. More words might have helped, might not.
    4. Most frustrating round, I just could not find the spot despite searching San Jose and environs for 15 minutes. Then I finally give up and it's on the edge of a big park and I'd checked all the small parks but skipped that one. Why? I don't know. Hadn't completely convinced myself it even was a park, I guess. Also didn't think the road would be so big on the map. 2km, 4990-something.
    5. Had heard the meta about the roofrack, otherwise might easily have clicked somewhere else in west Africa. I was pretty far away in the country, though. Total for all five rounds: 20874.

  • @JourneyLT
    @JourneyLT 4 года назад

Got the first one bang on.
Second one, there's a sign that shows you to be on the 116 in Japan. It's at an awkward angle, but the only English writing you can see.
Third one I guessed Romania. The places had Romance sounding names, although sometimes weirdly looking like broken English. Albania never even crossed my mind, although it makes sense that it should have with its Italian influence.
Fourth one I got bang on too.
Fifth one I went Ghana. I noticed the footballs, which made me think the area was in West Africa, since those areas are the most known for football in Africa. I was in that situation too. Ghana or Senegal. What made me go Ghana in the end was seeing the women not in hijab. You can clearly see that woman's cornrows. Senegal is a majority Muslim country. Ghana, majority Christian.
