liang longlong honestly while I'm open to the idea I seriously doubt we'll ever see zombies if there ever is a post-apocalyptic world I think it's more likely going to be like into the Badlands where we finally run out of bullets and get pushed back in to Medieval Times
You are my hero! I've been searching all around for this and finally my favorite RUclipsr made it! I now have bought a giant sign from my Grandpa! (About 5 x 3) and 2 other signs. (A do not enter sign and a bee striped railroad sign) Can't wait to make this with my brand new workbench! Perfect!
Love your videos, man! I can't wait to see the weapons that will accompany this shield. You, my friend, have inspired me to make many types of shields and weapons. Thank you for the great video.
Love your stuff! Cool to see your channel grow so well! I've wanted to build my own post apocalyptic armour and stuff for a long time but somehow always end up just building more machines ^^
Better to use bolts rather than rivets, rivets tend to pop and fail when hit with enough shock force from blows. I'd also use bolts with flatter heads that feed through from front to back. That will help stop any scagging and catching with anything it comes into contact with.
Yeah, steampunk it is not. Steam punk has a lot of brass and copper, and it usually has a Victorian clockwork style. Think boiler rooms on a river steamer or Victorian clock tower gear systems.
Shadoww324 _ - It would have to be thick, tough, and lightweight. Even though it would weigh an absolute TON, tempered steel sounds about right. Maybe 1/2 or 1 inch thick tempered steel, lined with a layer of kevlar. That sounds adequate. You'd have to figure something else out for the armor. Thinner steel, maybe a thicker kevlar fabric to compensate.
Even tho I am not planning to build the shield this video was super helpful because I had been looking for a place to get plexiglass/Lexan and I never thought to look at Home Depot or lowes. So thank you.
Just wondering, how thick are the street signs you're using? I got some stuff from home depot, but I think it might be too thin. ere' be da dimenshuns: A sheet of steel, 1 mm thick 24"x12" And a big a** roll of 10'x20"..."hot dipped galvanized flashing" (which my dad says is essentially galvanized iron.) I think it's .333 mm thick, so I thought I could stack the sheets on top of each other to match the strength of the steel sheet.
Uh, wasn't that huge nail galvanized? I hate to put'ya under(my own, worthless) scrutiny, but heating galvanized-- anything can be extremely dangerous. The toxic fumes can make you feel really sick, or lay you out for good. Again though, obviously you're still alive, and seem to know your stuff. I'm probably just being a typical hyper-sensitive welder. Whenever we see coatings of any kind, our automatic response is: "HU-- WHATS DIS? DANGER! MOM, GET ME THE ANGLE GRINDER. NO WAY. NOT DOING IT. MAKES FUMES, BAD WELDS. EVIL."
I really like this but would have done things different. I would add sleeping pad foam to protect the arm from the shock of impact and some lights for when it gets dark. bright light could also blind anything in front of the shield. I probably would have went with wood or PVC with camo paint.
if u don't want to attract them it can be turned off. But if you don't want to be moving around zombies without being able to see them than you might wan a light. building it into the shield means to can keep the other hand free. Also you have no way of knowing if it would blind a zombie or not but could blind them so they can only see the bright light.
NoBSSurvival I decided not to pad the inside because like real riot shields, they aren't padded because the peacekeeper himself is expected to be wearing padding. If you plan on using the shield while you're unarmored, padding is totally worth it. I however designed the shield for ZGB's Executioner, whom I know wears a pair of pretty bad-butt bracers. And I see no problem with adding a light. I'm sure it would be nice to have. A light is more of an accessory than a piece of the shield (like padding would be) though. If we were counting accessories, I'm sure there's A LOT of things people would "do differently" lol. Compasses, salt capsules, mini first- aid kits, knife holders, bubble gum. I'd encourage you to make one and post a video though! a "NoBSSurvival Customized Riot Shield" would be sure to get some views :) Best of luck with your channel! Maybe we could collab sometime who knows.
This would be super cool especially if you left the front as roadsigns and did a light and messy spray of red spray paint on the front to make it kind a look like blood. Would look super apocalypse esk.
could you get a website where you can post status, and we can like send build videos, or just messages to you through videos? Or maybe like a ZNA Productions Forums.
I love have a 1st thing you say in the build is don't steal street signs that is just a special level of responsibility and thank you for that. Also street signs can be quite easy to obtain at certain flea markets.
if yu tape LEDs to the front it can detect when microwave weapons are being used . the antennae would absorb the microwaves and convert it into light , if yu put them at different angles it can also detect the polarization of the microwaves . aluminium is a sufficient way to deflect them . microwave weapons are most commonly used in Asymmetrical Warfare between Crowd Control and Citizens/Civilians .
For weapons you could make a Short sword or hammer that can be stored on the inside of the shield? Or maybe a part of the shield you can slide open and stab though with something.
"He he, my old man has an awesome set of tools, I can fix it!" Spicoli@Fast times as Ridgemont High. Nice vid man, found you from your ballistic plate build. Bravo Zulu!
Hans Mauer - македонски I had to scrape bonded plastic off of them for 30 minutes each, they were brand new but considered "ruined" by whoever threw them out.
Adding a spike to the bottom would allow you to "mount" it in the ground to free your hands fro a weapon, or to give you more support if you are bracing against a charging enemy. It would also make it useful for making a shield wall if you have a few of these between you and your buddies.
And what if there's no soil under you? Plus grounding a shield doesn't work, unless you stick 4 foot nails in the ground. Anything less would be super easy to knock over
oml still watching this 3 years later 😂 planning on making a riot shield ae! I also swear u are to one channel that has top notch superb content man keep it up if u are still going! 👏
It's a fine design with its uses, but if you have a welder and sheet metal, you can do the same thing but stronger. A decent gauge sheet metal shield will protect better with maybe a slight bit more weight which can be used for more damage if you desire to whack a zombie. Great idea though
I think this was the first video I ever watched of yours XD and I have watched you since loved this build and also back then was the only good one I could find Keep up the vids man love em, I made the thunder ball from watch dogs 2 and a mask XD
Dude. you're a badass!! I love your videos. Keep up the good work. You should look into becoming a prop-maker like the mythbusters. Seems like it'd be a perfect gig for you.
Your next project should be a PVC CrossBow. The clamp idea was really good and you should keep working at it but I wanna see a PVC crossbow. Hopefully compound.
Would you get more protection by adding a sheet of Kevlar on the front and back of the shield and body armor? Or would it not be cost effective? Very creative and very generous to show how to make it without charging for the information. KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK!
I love your stuff. You should think about learning some basic welding. I think it would give you some more options for creating things. Thanks for the ideas you've given me for some projects.
I actually did buy a welder recently, a cheap little 90 amp (like you said, basic) and I'm just trying to gain a bit of skill with it before I start using it for vids. Thanks for the comment!
Nice! Good luck with that! I'm about to take my first welding class in January myself. Should be interesting to see what options that gives me for my new metalworking hobby.
i saw this video in my suggestions and as i started to watch this i was going to comment on how cool the music in the beginning is but seems to be that i already did that lol.
These build videos are becoming more and more relevant everyday.
Yup and even more so
I know this is ment for zombies but is the also good for black fridays?
Comrade Vladimir LOL!!!!!👏👏👏
Comrade Vladimir no at Black Friday there is no way to stop them
Comrade Vladimir at black Friday all you can do to stop the angrey hord of childish adults wanting to get a item all you can is pray
or the black lights matter movement riots
John Samyn the reason I look up homemade shield , smokebombs anything else is to be able to defend/fight against Anafia and BLM when the shit flys

I was just drilling holes through pennies. That might be illegal, I dunno.
You really think Abe needs another hole in his head?
Ya Boy Wubzy thats fucked up man
It's illegal to deface U.S. currency

good for rocks and swords and knifes
+Avy Johnson (Savage) Definitely.
+ZNA Productions good for airsoft?
good for damn near anything
+Hodbaccachalla - Always Blame Lag if you use furnace tempered stainless steel
And sword pommels
You are my hero! I've been searching all around for this and finally my favorite RUclipsr made it! I now have bought a giant sign from my Grandpa! (About 5 x 3)

this riot shield got a whole new meaning nowadays
1:42 the "ever ever ever" matches the song when u say it
Lol
Love your videos, man! I can't wait to see the weapons that will accompany this shield. You, my friend, have inspired me to make many types of shields and weapons. Thank you for the great video.
Love your stuff! Cool to see your channel grow so well!
I've wanted to build my own post apocalyptic armour and stuff for a long time but somehow always end up just building more machines ^^
you shouldn't have painted it... The 'raw' look looked awesome
Maybe he didn't like the way it looked
no matte black is way better then no parking and 1 way signs
Çokboi Senpai I agree with you
Isatnt RBLX I don't agree with you
True
I've seen street signs with bullet holes through them.
Cool
Sam Watkins He never said it stopped bullets...
Sam Watkins still looks cool
Sam Watkins Careful guys, we got a badass over here.
Sam Watkins one of the first things he says in this video is "no, its not going to stop any bullets".
Better to use bolts rather than rivets, rivets tend to pop and fail when hit with enough shock force from blows. I'd also use bolts with flatter heads that feed through from front to back. That will help stop any scagging and catching with anything it comes into contact with.
Who else is watching this in 2020. For you know👀
I'm watching for "research" Purposes
"That's one way." *5 seconds pass by* OHHH AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA I love this guy
you should keep the signs on, makes it looks more steampunk and more doomsday like
I wouldn't say steampunk but yeah that'd be cool.
Yeah, steampunk it is not. Steam punk has a lot of brass and copper, and it usually has a Victorian clockwork style. Think boiler rooms on a river steamer or Victorian clock tower gear systems.
More of a Scrappy kinda look
why can't i subscribe more than once?!?!?!!?!?!? :(
A question that we will never get answered :(
+liam chidester because yes
You should make full-body bulletproof riot armor.
Apollo_ and then from that we could figure out how to make a bulletproof riot shield
Shadoww324 _ - It would have to be thick, tough, and lightweight. Even though it would weigh an absolute TON, tempered steel sounds about right. @@chem_ist_ if it were that easy tge military would've already done it
That one way joke was subtle yet brilliant.
So when you bend the aluminum sign, doesn't it almost rip? what is keeping it straight and sturdy? I feel like i'm missing something...
Quintin Ingram It only begins to crack if you bend it near in half, this shallow bend doesn't harm it much.
Gotchu.
ZednoughtAlpha hey alpha do you want to be my friend
+Logan Coder Are you 6?
+Bas van de Kleut scuz me i'm 18 check my vids 4 proof
You should put the expanded metal screen on the outside so anything pushing inwards will have less force against the fasteners.
:)
When I make this, I'm going to use a Dead End street sign.
Even tho I am not planning to build the shield this video was super helpful because I had been looking for a place to get plexiglass/Lexan and I never thought to look at Home Depot or lowes. So thank you.
1:53 "that's one way".... Hah!
i like the bolts. they give it a whole makeshoift feel. which i love
Just wondering, how thick are the street signs you're using?
I got some stuff from home depot, but I think it might be too thin.
ere' be da dimenshuns:
A sheet of steel, 1 mm thick 24"x12"
And a big a** roll of 10'x20"..."hot dipped galvanized flashing" (which my dad says is essentially galvanized iron.)
I think it's .333 mm thick, so I thought I could stack the sheets on top of each other to match the strength of the steel sheet.
The signs are 1/16 inch aluminum. Good luck with your build!
Damn I still love all the old vids Eli you still my favourite bro
Uh, wasn't that huge nail galvanized? I hate to put'ya under(my own, worthless) scrutiny, but heating galvanized-- anything can be extremely dangerous. I got metal fume fever from melting down some zinc it wasn't fun
My solution is a GP-5
That's fucking annoying
I have no idea why you don't have more subscribers. You totally deserve them. Shared

Only problem with a light is it ruins your night vision
Works of absolute art, I'm going to have to start making some of these things on your channel, great job.
i keep throwing my money at the screen but i still don't see my shield. :v
Omg I thought I was the only one throwing money
nnnope, not the only one.
No you don't do that you put it in to the DVD drive duh
Well fuck.. I've been doing it wrong this whole time!
It's cool how your not just on zombies. You think about stuff like dangerous people! Thumbs up bro.
i used carbon camo spray paint
This would be super cool especially if you left the front as roadsigns and did a light and messy spray of red spray paint on the front to make it kind a look like blood. Would look super apocalypse esk.

Would this be good in nerf wars
YES
+jasons nightmare It would be too heavy to run around with a fking aluminum shield defending urself from a nerf bullet
+WOLF aluminum is actually really light, but i agree that it wont be practical for nerf guns
***** thanks
just use a paper plate it will work just fine
if yu tape LEDs to the front it can detect when microwave weapons are being used . the antennae would absorb the microwaves and convert it into light , if yu put them at different angles it can also detect the polarization of the microwaves . aluminium is a sufficient way to deflect them . microwave weapons are most commonly used in Asymmetrical Warfare between Crowd Control and Citizens/Civilians .
You would be useful in the Ukraine protests.

Make montages shield from rainbow six
*Montagne
That'd be really cool though, cuz that's what I thought of when I saw this
good music, fantastic ideas, great narrating... this is one of the best channel on YT! Can not wait of ZGB episode with your tools man!
can I use this for paint ball
+The GREAT Papyrus (COOLSKELETON95) YEAH FUCKING LOVE UNDERTALE! Espesially from Sean (JSE)
Might dent ALOT though.
If it's allowed in the rules, yes
+Inzane A lot
Jovin Liew Really? You're gonna be a fucking grammar Nazi.
"He he, my old man has an awesome set of tools, I can fix it!" Spicoli@Fast times as Ridgemont High. Nice vid man, found you from your ballistic plate build. Bravo Zulu!
"that's one way" xD
This is awesome! This is possibly my new favorite channel. Krieg's Buzzaxe video was my favorite video. Krieg is amazing.
does it work against antifa protesters ?... asking for a friend
I can hear the shit eating grin with the “that’s one way.” ... I liked and subbed
Good for airsoft
thanks i always thought the plexiglass was smarter. i never heard of lexan thank you immensely
Totally would have put a anarchist symbol on the shield
+Bryce Tibbs Who is your profile picture based on?
+Eclipseslayer98 i think that's "Kagetane Hiruko" of the anime "Black Bullet"
aydowon antifa isn't even anarchist. what anarchist would oppose freedom of speech? they are whiny marxists
Damn that one way pun was slick. I spat out my coffee when I realized the joke.
Same
Hey genius, why didn't you just buy normal aluminum sheets?
Hans Mauer - македонски Cause these were free, genius.
Nobody's gonna throw away brand new signs. They cost around 40 bucks each.
Hans Mauer - македонски I had to scrape bonded plastic off of them for 30 minutes each, they were brand new but considered "ruined" by whoever threw them out.
Personally, the blue 55 gallon plastic drums make great shields with minimal working, but all ideas are welcome.
+Hans Mauer dude back off he has an uncle that gets defective street signs and gives them to Eli. appreciate the cool build jerk.
cool ideas, thanks for sharing. Would love to see one using the garbage cans.
im slightly larger than a baby
***** can i hold you
***** ill be gentle
The fuck?
EpelepticMoon precisely.
ClevexKGB agreed
I love how the music just works with the video. Also great build this is a very awesome build you did. Good job man! :)
When Trump enacts martial law...I'll be needing your service.
You can purchase sheets of aluminum at most major home improvement stores. That should help with the whole street sign issue.
Why he gets them for free from his uncle who salvages them
Mark Montagna Not for him. For those who ask him about getting the signs.
Adding a spike to the bottom would allow you to "mount" it in the ground to free your hands fro a weapon, or to give you more support if you are bracing against a charging enemy. It would also make it useful for making a shield wall if you have a few of these between you and your buddies.

mean shield, in my opinon you are a king at makinging weapons and shields and all that stuff good job
Nice. Might be even better if you can add a steel bar to hook into a shield on the right/left. that way you can create a movable wall.
On my shield I didnt spraypaint the first sign which also says "One Way". Looks cool and has it's own message!
Sitting in a door way would make its meaning more useful
+Dingoking xD yeah
Awesome! I have a boatload of sheet metal laying around, so I might be able to make this, if I pick up some bolts and stuff!
It's crazy to see how much he's grown in the past 2 years, this was the first vid I watched by him... 2 years ago
oml still watching this 3 years later 😂 planning on making a riot shield ae!
Sadly I don't have a welder, i've researched them but they're not really in my price ranger right now.
I understand, even the cheapest welder can run you over $200. But, hey as long as your design works, then that's all that matters.
I think this was the first video I ever watched of yours XD and I have watched you since loved this build and also back then was the only good one I could find
Keep up the vids man love em, I made the thunder ball from watch dogs 2 and a mask XD
So creative man! Keep it up!
Attach two fold out arms onto the base of it, and make them lock at an angle so you can put it down and use it as a stand-alone shield.
That joke at 1:55 was amazing XD
Followed the vid but I use 24 gauge stainless steel and a layer of Kevlar and Fiberglass to make it stop everything up to 7.62 calibre bullets.
Dude. you're a badass!! I love your videos. Keep up the good work. You should look into becoming a prop-maker like the mythbusters. Seems like it'd be a perfect gig for you.
Great video, you make awesome weapons
Your next project should be a PVC CrossBow. The clamp idea was really good and you should keep working at it but I wanna see a PVC crossbow. Hopefully compound.
"thats one way" literally the funniest thing ive heard in my life
As soon as that stuff gets on ZGB your subscriber count is going to blow up
Would you get more protection by adding a sheet of Kevlar on the front and back of the shield and body armor? Or would it not be cost effective? Very creative and very generous to show how to make it without charging for the information. KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK!
Street signs!? You make me laugh, but it is very smart and effective.
Does anyone else love the image of his dad cooking with a home made riot shield next to him? :P
Dang that is awsome... I want street signs but have no places to get them at are there any other places you could think off that you can get them at?
spring load the wings and they will deflect arrows and hits better because the bends could open you up to attack
your choice though
nice
he's ready for ZOMBIE APPOCOLIPES
When all you want is a riot shield and you end up getting arrested trying to collect the materials
I used the same handles for my shield. It's montagne's le roc extendable shield, from rainbow six. Using it for airsoft
Can't wait to see the zombiegoboom episode your the best
Tip. Polycarbonate is lightweight, see through and can stop a bullet. Use that for a real shield
dude it dose not matter about your up load speed because your videos are awesome.
that music in the beginning!👍👍👍
cool vid btw
i saw this video in my suggestions and as i started to watch this i was going to comment on how cool the music in the beginning is but seems to be that i already did that lol.
awesome like always keep it up
i really like the looking of the bolts
That's so sick! Make more.
Niiiiiice dude you did amazing
"I'm slightly larger than a baby." 😂😂
as a person who made his own logo's i look forward to seeing yours.
Really cool brother!
