Phenomenal video of the ALC - 42 they are very nice modern locomotives. But my heart still goes to the P42 locomotives. Very nicely filmed, thanks for showing.
I was on the Empire Builder from Fargo to Seattle two weeks ago both times it was p42s and coming back our train met the charger train set, that was pretty cool! lots of great scenery and bnsf intermodal action, even saw a few rare locomotives in the sidings
Ya know... I just realized something when watching the first clip of the ALC-42 Chargers in action: When seeing the first two lead the Genesis locomotives (one of them being a Heritage Unit naturally. ^^), does anyone find how that echoes back to around the mid 90's when the Genesis Locomotives were brand new and of course they were in the lead of some long distance passenger trains while the aging F40PH's were right behind them? :) Just something that crossed my mind btw. ^^
Love this video! Itcwould be even better if the vid ststed where each scene was though. I live in upstate NY now, originally the Hudson valley where my love for trains grew watching them on each side of the Hudson River.
Hey, Mike............thanks for all the posts! I've noticed that the new siemens engines are really quiet here on Marine Drive. Besides, The Empire Builder is my favorite!
I’ve been watching you for 6 years and you never disappoint me with these train vids, I’m a huge train fan and you always make me one step closer to making me driving a train. Thanks so much for these videos, it really makes me astonished
The early days of the ALC-42s in service for Amtrak. Even though I will miss the GE Genesis locomotives, the ALC-42s are looking nice in their liveries. I first rode on Amtrak in 2017. I got a plush charger locomotive from Amtrak's merch store for my 16th Birthdays and I named him Hotshot.
Wow! What's the story on the Talgo's? Where did you get these? I've only seen one set that a guy did a scratch build for the wings. Is this the set? Very nice!
Mike do you know coaster CEM cabcars are going in service this winter with RAISED LETTER K5LA! there's a photo of 2311 at bombardier/ alstom cosster shop
Love these! one thing though, and this is such a nitpick but i hate how when the ditch lights flash they're both turned off briefly instead of a clean back n forth
I can definitely understand why a lot of people don’t like the ALC42s that much, but I honestly think they aren’t that bad. I, like everyone else will miss the P42s once they’re completely phased out and retired. It seems Amtrak intends to modernize their motive power for the future, and I’m only hoping they know what they’re doing. But overall, great job with the footage Mike!
I love the ALC42 especially 301 because it revived the Day One heritage paint scheme for the first time in 50 years and i gotta say, I really love the Day One Livery and it's my favorite Heritage Unit of all time
Mike, if you don't mind I want to ask you about something. Do you have any information about Coaster Cab Car 2306? It was supposedly overhauled recently and is now back in service, and I was informed you had gotten your hands on a photo that someone took of the unit from off of the highway. However, nobody else has been able to catch it. Do you know anything regarding its status?
hey Mike do you know when the alc-42 is gonna run on the coast starlight. I will also miss the p42's and p40's but will enjoy the last fue years seeing them 😢😭😭😭😭 oh and did I mention that on Tuesday this week my mom saw a metrolink train with f59phr number 868 I'm being serious
G'day Mick I can't work out why Amtrak have so many locos on their trains like a few shots there was 4 locos and 9 passenger cars, is this because they don't trust their locos to make the trip or moving them around the country ?
I yearn for yesterday. These new locomotives may have European Styling but look ugly. Like a flat faced vacuum cleaner. I like the FP45's, Alco FA's & PA's and those infamous F style units. That was American Styling, at it's best. But then no one asked me. Aiiyiiyii !!
I will miss the P42s but the ALC42s are definitely sharp
at least several of them will be still preserved on the Railroad museums in 2040
Amtrak is still overhauling a few of them
They’ll probably become freight engines. They’re stupidly powerful
@@NorthEasternMotionProductions at least when the hybrid version is coming. Which loco you are talking?

FINALLY glad to see WARM WHITE led headlights
I love this clip. That's some of the coolest Amtrak consists I have ever seen!
Spectacular footage CF2015. Especially at the shop yard and drone footage. Thanks for sharing this.
Beautiful videography (and sound!)
Thanks!
The ALC-42's are quite nice
*I actually won't miss the P42 for some reason*
I get it, I like the P42s but they are too old and a bit ugly
4:15, love the livery on these chargers. Lots of very nice captures. ♥️
Beautiful catches once again including the light power move past your location. Enjoyed watching and have a great upcoming weekend.

Absolutely phenomenal footage
The first video already. Looks so good!
Cool catch!

I’m really looking forward to the new equipment Amtraks ordering but I’ll miss the old but yet nostalgic p42s and amfleets
Great shots Mike, hope the start to expand the chargers soon!
I have to say the Paint scheme of the ALC-42S looks amazing, and ya wanna know what else is amazing?
ur channel as a whole
Outstanding video Mike!!

Awesome video Mike! Thanks for sharing!

Good catch friend! I am big fan of Amtrak and you
Great VDOs. I am looking for 314, my birthday!
Great catches Mike! :)
Super nice video! Great shot!👍👍👍

Nice drone footage!
Saw a couple the other day on the Coast Starlight!
I like this Amtrak locos from Amerika. I hope I will see them in live:)
This modern equipment makes me yearn for E and F units.
Sounds to me like someone has never shot with a film camera before. Thanks for the video.
Very Nice
love this.
Nice lokomotif
Amazing video. Amtrak are cool. 🙂❤️💖
Fantastic video
wow, nice video
Nice Coverage
🌵🌷🇮🇳🌷🌵
Great video as always Mike. I hope someday to catch them on the Coast Starlight although I will miss the GE genesis
Loved the snow scenes !
Empire builder coming through
out of wondering will you ever come back to MA to do another MBTA Commuter rail video

The ALC42s look super sharp. I just wish they sounded like a GE! Definitely will miss the P42s. The ALC42s look infinitely better than the old F40s

Personally I don't find that a big of a deal
@@adventuresofamtrakcascades301 It's not a big deal at all haha, just a small personal nitpick
@@karatransitfur I do admit it's a little bit silly but not that much
I don’t like it either, it bothers me a lot for some reason.

I wish Via would get these for The Candian
What will happen with the P42s?
When will they come to The SWC

Should be some time next year
You are the luckiest person in the world
I like them but its something about all the new K5LA's on all the siemens locomotives that I just cant seem to like.
I hate there K5LA’s with a burning passion, I’m with you on that.
Hello
So when will the P42 be gone?
there last ride will be in Feb 27 2023
Hopefully siems doesn't screw them up like the ACS 64s.

🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂💚💚💚💚💚👍
I can't wait till they're on my local Amtrak route so I can find what to complain about them (I actually have the right to complain about them, LOL)
damn i miss the steam locomotives ..
RHi
10 coaches and 4 loco, US clearly a winner for wasting energy and fuel
Theres a thing called TESTING, and just in case an ALC-42 breaks down (and yes, they have done that) the genesis can take over
