Also it would be helpful if you made a video about dress code whats acceptable etc. Especially if people are used to visiting Dubai which is quite open to an extent. Another one is a direct comparison vid with dubai ( amenities, facilites, etc) i say this as you mentioned a lot about bringing ur own chairs m tables in sum of ur toner video when visiting parks and own picnics

Thank you for these useful tips! I am planning to relocate to Qatar and will keep in kind these bits of information. May I just ask how is the employment environment at the moment there, taking into consideration the pandemic. I am applying for jobs online from outside Qatar, but I'm thinking that locally available candidates are preferred and might slim down my chances of getting a job. Thank you in advance for any insight you can share 🙂

Yes we were too. Very affordable! We didn’t mention it, but there are also some free buses that will take you to the metro stations from strategic pick points.

Wishing you a happy new year. I am considering visiting for a couple of weeks myself in the hope of finding employment. Where is the best place to start looking over there, how easy is it to find work? I only have my British A Level and years of IT and clinical administration work experience, but every website asks for candidates with a degree. any help be great. Can I ask you , what's the difference between having a VPN and an Amazon firestick ? Sorry I am new to this technology.
Hi Fenia,
My understanding is the Amazon Fire Stick plugs into a hdmi port of your tv and allows you to stream media content on your tv through apps like RUclips Amazon Prime, Netflix, tv channel apps for your country (eg. ABC in Australia, BBC in UK, CBS in US etc.)
You still won’t have access to content that is geo-locked, meaning you can’t access channels on the Firestick while abroad. For example a channel like BBC will be geolocked to the UK. You would need to install a VPN to the fire stick to use the BBC app and access the geolocked content.
The VPN connects to a server in the country you need, and basically tricks the network to think you are located somewhere else. Then you can view the content.
There are free and paid vpns. It is not recommended to use free one as they usually have less bandwidth (slower connection), and your privacy could be compromised.
Most new tvs these days have access to the apps previously mentioned but not all have the ability to run a VPN. That’s where the fire stick might be of use.
We don’t have a fire stick, as the apps we use allow us to run on our iPhone or iPad with the vpn and screen share through airplay. Not all apps can do this though eg. Netflix. We just watch Netflix through the tv without the VPN. It just means we won’t have all the same shows available in other countries. We can watch Netflix through our iPhone, iPad or computer and connect to the VPN if we want, but we haven’t found the need to.
Hope this all makes sense. Maybe some other people can comment here if they have any other advice on this.

Hi Rita. I’m not sure about how to find work in other industries. My husband applied for a teaching position found on a teaching website. You could try searching some hotel websites to see if they have a careers page.

What is a decent salary for a family of 4.
Honestly it really depends on your lifestyle and other factors. Some people come here to save money, and some live the high life. Also if you have housing, medical, schooling included with your package. Those things can be quite expensive.
