    We use packing cubes for clothes that are normally used in suitcases. Much easier to find things.

      @@VantasticAdventures we use Gonex, but there is a bewildering choice of packing cubes out there. Make sure you buy ones with a see-through netting on the front and handles, which makes life much easier for transporting clothes from the house to the van (especially if, like us, you live in Scotland and have to pack in the rain!).

    Wow, really well organised and great storage. I need to go and repack our van!!!! We discovered we could store our ladders on the mattress in the pop top on our last trip, not sure if they’ve done any damage up there or even if your supposed to but hey ho😂. I might buy some of of those packing cubes for our clothes one day to make it look a bit tidier too and save carrying piles of clothes outside too ha ha. Thanks for the inspiration 👍🏽

    The downside of the van with a teen is that the pop top is their private space, so we end up using the passenger seat to store bedding during the day.
    I think we prioritised board games over clothes storage, but maybe need to rethink that - those rear cupboards seem to work really well!

    • @VantasticAdventures
      @VantasticAdventures  3 года назад +1

      Ah yes that's a very good point, we are currently sat with the bedding on the passenger seat too and you are spot on, it works well when the roof is full (or closed 😂) 😁👍
      We tried all sorts of configurations and this seems to work best, have a lovely weekend 😁

    We’ve ordered the same van (hoping it arrives on schedule in October) and have been following your videos. Great to see the storage under the rear bench is full length in one side as no video I’ve seen so far has confirmed that.

      Bet you can't wait for your new van, they are brilliant we are loving this trip especially, lucky with the weather so far with BBQ's outside until dark most nights although tomorrow looks a bit bleak so maybe just some hill walking but it looks better after that 😁👍

    Aha the Emergency Coat ! Hi Both just playing catch up on your great Vlogs, thanks. Packing cubes / bags essential for clothes for us (2 +2 smaller ones) unless want a jumble sale in back of van everyday ! Pop up Pup Tent great for storage of what we put in back (it is a van after all so our Paddle board etc goes in) when overnight or more. We Squash bedding for 2 in nearside bench as possible with other bits, move drill box to other side, sorry Iain, really ?! Rest of bedding (+ million soft toys) goes up top when stop over as you do. It's amazing what we fit in yet still room. Payload ..... topic in own right for another time, even without much of our stuff and just basics for 2+2smalls was very tight ( we have tow bar + extra baterry). Came down to me or the Bikes, Bikes won ! So I had to Up-plate !

    • @VantasticAdventures
      @VantasticAdventures  3 года назад

      Ha ha excellent tips there thank you! 🥰 We will have to take a look at the packing cubes, they sound great 👍 also the pup tent, that's a good idea too 👍 Also good shout on the drill, it should fit nicely not sure why we haven't tried that before 😂 still undecided on up-plating but if we keep buying things it may well have to happen 😂😂😂 thanks for taking the time to comment and for watching, we are the same still trying to catch up on RUclips as making the most of being away as much as possible 🥰👍

    Some great idea's there. Didn't realise how big the door pockets are. Our van won't have the over cab storage but looking forward to not bumping my head. I love cooking so don't think our oven is going to clean for long.
    Thinking of starting a channel of our own when we get the 636se. Would you consider doing a video of the camera equipment you use at any point?

      Hi Paul yes sure, it was quite daunting when we started with the video equipment so that's a good idea 😁👍
      Yes the door pockets are huge, really good extra storage and you won't miss the overhead compartment, it's useful but already today we have both bumped our heads at least twice 😂

    We are going to look at a similar van do you find the kitchen area and walk way a bit to narrow ? As this is the one thing I’m worried about

    • @VantasticAdventures
      @VantasticAdventures  Год назад

      Hi Mark, yes you are spot on, that was one of the few compromises we made with the van, the other models we liked had a wider aisle and 3 burner hob in the kitchen as it had more room but overall we decided it was worth it. We just make sure we take it in turns to move in that bit of the van, the dog doesn't always understand the rules but it usually works out okay 😂👍 When we had multiple people staying with us we also used the barn doors to access the rear which avoided any issues in the aisle, once you get used to it it's fine - good luck with your viewing, anything else you want to ask don't hesitate to shout 🥰

    • @The-Salty-Bager
      @The-Salty-Bager Год назад +1

      @@VantasticAdventures thanks appreciate it, we are coming from a coach built and are a little worried it’s going to be for us, but like the idea of a van conversion. Do you find the rear lounge comfortable in the day as I believe the sofa are not long enough to lie on as a single ? is it well insulated and warm enough in winter ? Is the bathroom k and enough room for a shower ? And is the oven good enough to cook a meal in etc ? So for all the questions.

    • @VantasticAdventures
      @VantasticAdventures  Год назад

      @@The-Salty-Bager no problem at all 😁 The oven is best described as a warning oven, we don't use ours we have an Omnia and Ridge Monkey for inside cooking and charcoal BBQ for outdoors - other owners use the van oven and say they are fine but take quite a bit longer to cook than a normal oven.
      The lounge is great one of the main reasons we bought the van, it's comfy for sitting and lounging but not long enough to sleep as a single, certainly for us but height depending you could maybe sleep on it, we have done it to try but need to bend legs all night 😂
      It's nice and warm, especially on gas the heating gets to temperature very quickly - they are not described as fully winterised due to the pop top but we have slept all year round up top, coldest was -1C and it was fine with a duvet, the heat from the van rises into the pop top but if very cold the lounge converted to a bedroom would be nice and warm anyway.
      The bathroom is snug, very well layed out and functional, you can use it for everything but you will find it smaller than your coach built, it's fine for us and gets nice and warm as has a heating vent inside.
      Definitely some compromises from a coach built but we absolutely love it, just back from a weekend exploring Scottish borders and benefit of just being able to drive and find places is great, parked carefully it fitted into a normal space 👍

    Great video. Did you weigh your van empty and then again when you packed it? We are just working out what we can carry. We have a 120 kg payload which doesn’t seem a lot.

      Hi Barry, the Adventure 55 (6 metre van) starts at £57,309 for 2021 model year and the 65 (6.4 metre van like ours) is £57,915 but I think they have sold out for this year unless any dealers have a cancelled order.
      The 2022 models will be available to order around now but we would expect them to be slightly more expensive as the base vehicle Fiat Ducato is a new model with latest features and is a bit more money. Circa £60k probably 👍😁
