You’re not wrong about the KD shit not mattering. In 3 losses yesterday I went 26-3 on Thor, 26-3 and 27-6 or so on Mantis with 20 k healing both games and lost all 3 of them.
Had one game as Magneto where I played out of my mind but only had like 5 kills. But a TON of damage done.
My job was to keep their threats harassed and out of position. I did that. Their DPS had to repeatedly disengage and heal, only to come back and get picked by Hawkeye or BP who got solo kill credit, I didn't get a kill, but because I was able to get that SPACE for them to get those kills, I was doing my job.
@ 100%
I hate when people say stats don't matter. They 100% do. They just don't mean any one particular thing on their own. Best k/d in a match doesn't equate to a win but it does mean you were playing your life and you took good fight. A high amount of healing means you were doing your job but it doesn't mean that you should win.
Stats literally mean something. Actually.
@@brandaohimself I think the better way to say it is good stats do not equal a win or tell the entire story about the match.
Definitely will be trying to learn DPS soon, I’ve been a tank/support my whole life lol. I’ve just been nervous cause my mechanics have never been the best.
Yea, it's rough if it's something massively mechanical. That's why I wanted to show my own faults with it.
This video is ground zero of me learning starlord, if I can overcome it then you can too. 🙂
17:36 your are literally exposing my gameplay 🤣🤣 im always looking for the 1v1 smoke its so toxic yet soo addicting and true it is good to quickly gauge competition skill level and gives more insight on how to setup your flanks or off angles
2:38 I’m finding this out right now in Plat. I have to play Starlord, Bucky, or Punisher. If I play anyone else I get dumpstered and flamed. 😅😅😅
It would help to have the replay link or ID in the video description. That would allow us to watch different angles while you commentate.
awesome! The silver series! Yeah!
Yeah, stats in this game are a little too heavily weighted by the community. Ive won games with low stats but I was helping cc ppl off of my healers or just pinging flanks and my team succeeded because of it.
Now do this for gold cause these players feel like they're god damn pros one minute then worse than bronze the other was gold 1 on the verge of plat literally 3 hours ago and now im struggling to even make it back to gold 2😭😭😭
Edit: just realized you're doing this as a series on your channel for each role I think more people are struggling in gold more than anywhere
It'll be coming soon, no worries. 🙏
I main Iron Man and The Punisher
For the constant repositioning how can I move around effectively with characters that have less mobility than Star Lord?
Just by walking, nothing fancy to it. You don't need to go the distance I covered, just different spots even if it's only a few feet away.
@@poppinoftenwithlofton6036 guess I’m overthinking it. Appreciate the reply
can limit test be defined as pushing for the play you think is correct at the moment so you can build experience in it?
Limit testing is more about how much you feel you can do as a player, it's really a selfish thing to be honest.
Pushing for a play is more about understanding what needs to be done and doing it to benefit the team.
They can work together for sure, but mostly when you're limit testing you're going deeper than necessary to push yourself and improve.
If I were fully playing for my team, I wouldn't be dying as much. However, doing that also stunts my growth as a player.
For me personally because I'm climbing so quickly, I need to force as much as I can. If I weren't, it'd be fine to take it at a much slower pace.
@@poppinoftenwithlofton6036I’ve heard it called 30/70 plays. 30% of the time you pull off an insane play 70% not so much. I think on a DPS especially in low elo where a big play can stagger a team and they will stay staggered the entire game it can be worth it.
@@reecenaidu6020I can understand why you’d feel his “delulu” is coming in, but you gotta give credit to his comments from looking at the whole picture. He wasn’t lying when every time he zoomed out, his mistakes made space or distracted the enemies enough for his team to punish the enemy team for it. I feel as though it would’ve been the same if he was on the other team.
@@poppinoftenwithlofton6036 thanks for the reply and breaking that down for me. I will keep that in mind and will implement it at times to improve.
@@madhatten5123 I have heard about 30/70 plays, it kind of makes sense now. Thanks for connecting that for me.
Let’s gooooo. I’m plat 3 now. 😅😅😅
Niiice grats, is this the highest you've ever climbed?
@ yep! In Marvel Rivals at least. ☺️👍
@ Highest in any hero shooter.
Nice, keep it going. Let's see if you can beat me before I release the "how to escape plat" 👀
@ Haha it’s getting tougher now for sure. I hope I can though!
9:33 double support ults. 🤦🏻♂️
What dontou think about playing that new Doom mode and taking a character in there and llaying a bunch of matches to get better with a character, practice aim, lesrning 1v1/getting better at 1v1s?
I think it's useful for learning characters for sure. Once you learn their mechanics there, playing regular matches will allow you to focus more on game knowledge.
How to climb out of Silver as a DPS: stop playing high skill ceiling DPS and switch to heals, ur in silver, ur not him
what you just said defeated the purpose of the first statement if you switch to healer your not climbing as DPS lol doesn’t help
the player get better that way
How many losses do you experience in a row? It seems like a lot for me so I'm just curious.
Anyone's answer is welcome.
Average is probably 2. Anything more or less are usually just one offs.
Don't be like dude and play characters that you know in ranked. I'd rather have you play c&d with 5 hours of play time than Luna snow with 5 minutes of play time. Ranked isn't practice
Don't know* and ranked *is* practice my friend. You also maaaay have misunderstood the concept of the video, it is *not* to play random characters you don't play. 😂
That'd be troll.
@poppinoftenwithlofton6036 no I understand the concept of your video and I can agree with a large chunk of it. No ranked is not practice, quick play and practice range is practice. I'd rather have a person play a character they have 5 hours on than a character you have 5 minutes on
@codysorenson4298 I respect what you're saying, buuuut still missing what I'm saying friend.
However, we can always agree to disagree. Different points of view are always healthy and important. 💪
@@poppinoftenwithlofton6036 respect for not being toxic about this. Yes there is things you can learn from ranked, myself should review my losses to see what I could have done better and what I can do to improve in those situations. Good content and I hope to see more from you.
@codysorenson4298 I'll just give my 2 cents on this topic..
While QP can be nice practice for learning basic mechanics and map knowledge (and this is where it should be learned before going into comp) it is completely different when comparing to competitive. You can't practice strategy in QP since people mostly just play for fun and stagger, trying to get achievements or learn new characters.
You can't really practice competitive strategy in QP, you have to go to comp to learn this.
