Another thing to add onto Keep Track of Enemy Ult Usage, whenever you die in ranked, you're given a killcam where you can see the exact percentage of the person who killed you's ult charge %.
Idk if you play council, but if you hold the middle pad, you get to see the stats. You can see the amount of damage you dealt, heals, etc. you can also see the ults of your team and opps
on the note of knowing the different voice lines for ults: if you have subtitles on they will show the color of the team that is calling out the ult, so when you see "behold, darkchild" in red you know thats an enemy, while "limbo is with you" will be in green (or whatever color you have teams set to, you get the point)
Doing your job is how to get to plat+ real fast, healers stay back and heal. Dps find those healer kills, tanks support your team, stop auto locking venom as a solo tank lol. A lot of dps in this game function as frontliners or disrupters and a lot of tanks function as big boy dps. Building a good team comp is important and tank is usually the one that glues a comp together
@@geckoicaza5265 So I need people to understand this, overwatch forced 2/2/2 because other comps were TOO strong, 3 tank/3 healer was what broke the camels back (GOAT meta), it wasnt because 2/2/2 is the best. What matters most is being able to fulfill the win condition, which generally is kill the supports, kill the sniper, clean up. Generally there are 3 main types of teams and they counter eachother: Poke>brawl>dive>poke. Some characters can be used in multiple comps, like a dive comp can use a sniper to finish targets, a brawl comp can use 3 healers or 3 dps or 3 tanks, what matters most is again being able to do the job your team requires. Venom can only do 1 thing. Dive... and if you arent diving the healers or sniper AND getting kills you arent contributing no matter how much dmg blocked or how much dmg you do, dmg without kills means their supports get ult faster, dmg blocked without kills means their dps gets ult faster. Understanding ults and trickling in to die are pretty much the 2 basic parts of the game that will always keep people a lower rank. Already long but while im at it, there are 3 tanks (groot, strange, and magneto) there are a TON of hybrid brawlers (thor, mr fantastic, venom, wolverine, iron fist, hulk magik, sorta black panther, sorta peni, groot and even magneto can easily play in a way to be here too). All of these are fulfilling the same exact roll regardless of if they are vanguard or dps, hell mr fantastic will probably even beat venom with dmg taken and do it as a frontliner in a good game so he's more of a tank lol. This is all to say, the only thing set in stone is that you need at least 1 healer, everything else can simple depend on countering what the other team is trying to do or performing your win condition better than they can counter
@tevingriffin6036 I mean I'm saying bear ass minimum. 2 is ideal. But there are cases where just having 1 could work. But theyd have to be a really good Luna or rocket and the comp has to play into them. I could see a deathball comp working but the other team would have to be weak to it and your team needs to focus their healers. After all if you kill their healer instantly it's even lol
Unless you're a high level player, most medal ranks (bronze, silver, gold) are pretty chill. There's going to be the sweatys in either game mode, but I like low level ranked because the MMR feels tighter. Might be placebo, but getting silver 1 is the goal lol
@Lynkin66 gotta at least hit gold 3 for the free skins they been making. S0 was a sick moon knight skin, I think this season it's for magik or someone? Idk but gold 3 should be the goal. Agree on everything else lol
Its so funny reading people have crazy arguments and anecdotal stories of "they said X but I did Y amount of dmg/healing" like any of that matters, especially without context 😂
I know these are well intentioned and all but I think the most important advice is this: Have fun. I know that sounds like a cop-out but, as someone that has severe anxiety and has burnt out in competitive games before, you need to make sure you're actually enjoying the experience. Winning feels great but if that's the only time you're having fun, the game is going to become very miserable for you and it's not worth the stress. Other general advice: don't stress about accuracy too much. Yes there's ways to improve and different things to keep in mind while aiming but that skill will require time to develop no matter what. Chat isn't always worth using. I get overloaded super easily and I'm more likely to have a panic attack than to be a useful communicator. I don't join chat and I still get into high ranks in games. Maybe not perfectly optimal but your awareness skills do develop more consistently anyway. If text chat is being toxic or you're either a minority or feminine, don't feel bad for muting everything altogether. Keep your hero pool small. I know people like to cry for counters but if you're constantly swapping heroes, it's going to limit your development. Use one character to learn the game and its intricacies and the fewer variables that come with every match because of that will makes improving easier. It's still good to have a hero in each role plus another to fall back to if they're banned, picked, or extremely hard countered, but you need to make sure you're keeping as much consistent within your gameplay as you can
Tip for Strategists: deal damage objectively. Marvel Rivals have unique champions that can spawn or place down abilities that is like an extension of their effective range or like a spike in their power level. As the support of the team, you always pay attention to whatever obstacle you can destroy on sight. Moonknights's Ankha, Loki's clones, Groot's walls, etc. Sometimes, preventing your team from receiving too much damage is the better decision than to outheal the damage.
Try to identify the biggest threats / enemy team's win condition and play around it. Sometime it as simple as they want to dive your healers and there needs to be a group effort to defend against that or to endlessly fight at a choke and you need more creative angles. Identify it and work against it vs being satisfied with exchanging damage hoping for a random advantage. Create your advantages.
Million dollar advice right here. My friends dont understand this. Its always “i got 12k damage bro im doing my job” whole time the damage is MEANINGLESS lol. U just exchanging damage hoping for the best lol.
@ Dps getting angry at you because they "did their job", they "did damage", but the whole time they're just going for tanks, essentially helping Luna, Mantis, etc. farm their ults, working AGAINST your team 😭😭
Some of these tips I've done inherently just because it's what feels like the smart play. Other tips are things I've never thought about, like how each ult has different lines whether they're on the enemy team or your team.
That first tip is a double edged sword. If you make a hole in the building to pass through you're much more able to flank. When I'm defending I usually destroy that whole building right at the start of I'm on a character that can manage that. It eliminates a lot of the ability to flank. Just like that left side wall on Wakanda escort. I usually destroy it because it's far easier to see things coming.
Brother, I’ve followed you since peak destiny. Now we are here 💪🏼. Love your vids. Hope everyone appreciates your vids because you are hands on with these tips
Also going to chime in DO not trust the leaderboard YES fallout makes good points and is vaild but currently as pointed out by people on the offical discord the leaderboard DOES have cheaters plastered on it like during season 0 there was a faction that had players who only spent 35 hours and 100 wins on comp and had max rank so make SURE to check people clearly and if things dont add up make sure to report them
Learn your character combos. A lot of characters have combos for both melee and ranged and they can be the difference between scoring a kill or losing a fight.
Groot’s melees between each Right Click/R2 Mr Fantastic left click > right > left > his grab, left click > grab = 100% elasticity = Tank Mode = kills + staying alive
More rivals content please!! It's such a good game and I loved your destiny content but I dropped the game after Lightfall. Glad to be watching your vids again!
One tip that I will say needs to be added is this. Know when to give up an objective. I know that sounds really bad, but trust me. If your team is struggling to hold or capture an objective, just make the call to let the enemy have it. You will give them a point, but if it means that you get a better chance to gain an advantage, it's worth it. This mostly applies to Escort maps, but it can also apply to Domination as well. If you know that your team is struggling to hold the 1st point on an Escort map, just pull back, let them take the cart, and then try to set up a better defensive line a little bit further down the road where you have more cover, better high ground access, etc. On the flip side, if you know that the 2nd point of a Domination game isn't going to be the best for your team, do the same. Let them have that point, but put up a fight. If you can get them to burn ults on a final push before "accidentally" C9-ing it or "making a stupid mistake" that loses you the fight, then you can go into that 3rd point with an ult advantage. So many people have the mentality of "even 1 point is too many", but sometimes just giving them that 1 point can be the ticket to a win.
One of my best skills is predicting ults. I feel I'm sitting on a 75-85% correct call rate for calling out who has ult. Helps that I main support, so my focus can be on that and callouts, rather than killing.
Kinda weird tip, bias your aim towards the right/ over the right shoulder of whoever youre shooting at, youll land hits more consistently. Your character stands on the left of your screen and shoots bullets from their hand/gun, but aims towards your crosshair, which means the bullet path is diagonal to the right. You can get a better feel for that by trying it in the training mode and comparing the "aim assist" forgiveness on either side
This. And it’s weirdly different from character to character. Like I can nail crits constantly with Groot and Hela, but I can’t hit anything with Venom or Moon Knight. R u on controller?
You got down voted cause your response was interpreted as "counter play it" ergo not actually contributing to the debate about Luna Ult being too strong...which it is.
@yabbadabbindude it's really not, just counter ult with someone that can one-shot her, counter with your own support ult, or just wait it out and then bum rush the enemy team lol
That last tip is really good, especially for lower rank players to recognize. When I play with my friends, they often get upset with me for picking Psylocke over Hella or Winter Soldier because I get more kills with the latter 2. That said, we arguably win more games when I go Psylocke and assassinate the backline even with a lower stat spread at the end. Few will comprehend this.
Yeah, focus on your job is a big one. I mostly play moon knight and could sit and spam other team whole game and likely get top or near top damage (that's just healed and has no effect), but I find slowing it down and trying to flank healers and assassinate them helps much more. With that said, how mvp is chosen seems a bit off. You can assassinate healers all game and be the reason for your team winning, but the frontline tank or a healer will likely get the mvp bc they soak dmg or heal while getting elims they wouldn't have gotten if you never killed healers. Or you can do huge plays multiple times per game with near team wipes with ults and kill healers regularly and still not get mvp.
Don't forget to defend your support on occasion. If you see that someone pings Spiderman or Magick diving the back line, saving your support can keep you team on the push.
im gonna be real, keeping voice chat open in this actively feels like poison. The community isnt in a great place when it comes to toxicity, and it *feels* like voice chat actively does more harm than good
Omg I hate the trickle culture. I’m constantly using quick chat to say we should regroup and people just rush in and die. Even vc doesn’t get them to slow down
Secret tip: you can play rocker racoon and put his shield dispensing station, give our teamates extra shields, and you can switch to another support like luna and keep the extra shields
Ah, my sense of direction and spacial reasoning comes to haunt me once more. I am physically incapable of retaining the locations of health packs. There are no images in my brain, so I can't "take mental note" of where things are spacially. Honestly, without the blue and red lines on the ground leading me to the objective, I would actually be at risk of getting lost along the way.
Don’t feel too bad. That’s the reason why I mained support or Tank in Overwatch. Could either heal myself or demand healing from my teammates. Not amazing, but I managed to make it to the top of plat before I stopped. Fundamentals go a massive way in games like this.
A thing about the environment there is a button on pc its B and it lets you know which walls are breakable. It's vital to set it up, blast holes in walls, knock down walls. Yysagrd domination map there's an arena called odins achive, around tht arena is a hidden passage on both sides blocked by destructible environment that is a vital flank spot no one bothers to set up.
If you're a support main, don't forget about the other support. Not all supports have super reliable self heals and 2 supports can take a dive on far better than 1.
health packs are so clutch, especially as Venom lmao. One fight against 2 dps i purposely stood in front of one, When i got low I used it, killed the first dps, low on health I popped my health regen, the other dps just stopped moving and accepted his death 😂
"Focus on your job" I tried to told every Luna Snow and C&D mains in quick play the exact thing because they keep hiding and trying to auto enemies, then cry in the post lobbies that tanks and duelists didn't do any damage while they have like 10k, but got only 2k heals. If you, a healer, are doing damages, then who's the one healing the duelists and tanks ? Except Mantis, she has all the reason to fight
I wish they didn’t change maps and health pack locations. By the time us casuals learn them they got changed. Some for seemingly no reason, like why were health pack and ult charge spots changed in the practice range? Change just for the sake of change is never good. Knowing the map and health packs is such critical info for enjoying the game and having success or at least feeling like you are on a level playing field. Yesterday I lost a match because my entire team took a wrong turn and got lost on a dead end spot in the map lol. Losing because of silly things like that just feels bad.
You forgot the most important tip of all: DON'T FREAK OUT ON YOUR TEAMMATES. Keep your cool if you lose and keep it cordial. Be mindful of feedback, especially negative, and how you deliver it. Bad communication isn't just unclear communication, it's also communication in the wrong tone. You can completely obliterate your team's morale if you're an asshole in comms. It'll also affect your own morale, believe it or not.
This may be hard to notice for most people, but enemy ults, they have an echo-like effect on them (it sounds similar to soeaking in an indoor swimming pool). I'm a sound designer, so I can easily pick that up, it may not work for most :/
Here’s a tip…. STOP GETTING INTO COMPETITIVE MATCES IF YOU CANT PLAY ALL 3 ROLES. So sick of everyone picking DPS and then bitching about not getting healed.
You don’t need all 3 you just need more than only dps. If you only can do 2 then make sure you have at least 3 per role instead of 2 each for all 3 so your mains don’t get taken
it's crazy that the first tip is an "advanced tip". but yeah i see so many people stand still at a choke for MINUTES. especially guilty are the supports who only know how to piggyback on tank positioning
I will slightly disagree with the join voice tip. I’m currently diamond 1 on pc and I’ve joined voice a total of 3 times. One time there was a little comms in the beginning but it quickly devolved into flaming, the second was a guy flaming our rocket the entire game for picking rocket (he ended with 60k heals) and one time where a guy commed a little. You can climb without joining and more often than not, not joining will be advantage for both your gameplay and mental
Well-said, thoroughly-explained, calm demeanor, to-the-point and straightforward without being overly terse or patronizing. Best tips vid for this game i've seen yet and I've watched a TON over the last month.
How is it people are using 800 DPI and getting that speed with sensitivity that low? If I change from 1600 DPI to 800 and lower my sens from 7 to 4 or 2.5, I need to basically drag my mouse across my entire mousepad just for a single full rotation! I didn't play a crazy amount of overwatch, only played it when my diamond friend wanted to do quickplay. I mostly played siege but even there I was finding it odd how many people used 800 DPI and like 4 to 14 sensitivity but could still turn just fine without it being slow or having exaggerated mouse movements just to 180. On siege I had 1600 DPI and still needed it set to around 25 to 40 sensitivity to be able to smoothly 180 without moving my mouse across the entire mouse pad. On Marvel Rivals I'm currently using 1600 DPI and 7 sensitivity but it doesn't feel completely right to me, it's just the best sens I could find in my free time.
Biggest tip is learn as many characters as possible. Sorry but you can just “main” one character there are so many counters to each character you’ll just get wrecked
Download right away if you were defending the best thing in the world is a bottleneck it forces them all to group up and come through a much smaller passageway. Bottlenecks ra defenders best friend.
They really need to do something about the hit boxes though it is dumb as hell that some attacks just curve to never miss. Like cloak and dagger and scarlet witch.

Fundamentals go a massive way in games like this.
casually opens the 3rd top ranked player: more wins on a single page than i have gotten in my entire marvel rivals playtime
2:45
not even surprised to see Necros is #3 in the game. dude is insane
....so anyone else have that one friend that needs to hear that Spiderman advice at the end, but just wont?
Begging people to learn how support abilities work. Too many people run from Sue's shield or Daggers AoE heals.
Great tips! Now i just need to tell my randoms to do that also😂
health packs are so clutch, especially as Venom lmao. One fight against 2 dps i purposely stood in front of one, When i got low I used it, killed the first dps, low on health I popped my health regen, the other dps just stopped moving and accepted his death 😂
You can also see the ult charge of anyone who kills you during the mini-replay before you respawn
"Focus on your job"
I tried to told every Luna Snow and C&D mains in quick play the exact thing because they keep hiding and trying to auto enemies, then cry in the post lobbies that tanks and duelists didn't do any damage while they have like 10k, but got only 2k heals. If you, a healer, are doing damages, then who's the one healing the duelists and tanks ? Except Mantis, she has all the reason to fight
The amount times I'm fighting someone one on one and they ignore the health packs. 😂😂
Cloak and dagger main. Stuck in bronze as usually the only healer AND the only one who knows how to GO AROUND.
"A falcon on cocaine" lol. That got me
Side note. Cocine Falcon sounds like a dope Boys character...or a good name for Snowflame's sidekick lol.
Here’s a tip. Every 3 games, hop back into the practice range and do some target practice and have a stretch. Just recalibrate yourself.
This may be hard to notice for most people, but enemy ults, they have an echo-like effect on them (it sounds similar to soeaking in an indoor swimming pool). I'm a sound designer, so I can easily pick that up, it may not work for most :/
Tip 18 have fun!
Heres a tip for all the dps players: if your Luna ults, you can stand inside it to get healed instead of running away
as a squirrel girl main, getting high ground is so overpowered and i love it
*Pronounces Yggsgard* "Totally nailed it." > Actually did nail it. Shin Shibuya, not so much LMAO
The objective moves and counts faster with more people on it. Up to 4. On the subject of pushing into their spawn.
Can you do a video on hero jobs for noobs? Spiderman's job is to assassinate the the back of the map healers, while wolverine's a good tank killer.
Here’s a tip…. STOP GETTING INTO COMPETITIVE MATCES IF YOU CANT PLAY ALL 3 ROLES. So sick of everyone picking DPS and then bitching about not getting healed.
I can only play tank, and Mr Fantastic… so tank
You don’t need all 3 you just need more than only dps. If you only can do 2 then make sure you have at least 3 per role instead of 2 each for all 3 so your mains don’t get taken
I have 2 for each role whose kits I know by heart but that still doesn't help the rest of my team from being complete morons smh
I always play heals because I’m good at it even else is bad but then I get put with people that don’t do damage
What's your elo, if you give such advice?
I think the biggest tip I can think of is "Don't play a character just to goon. Play a character you are actually comfortable playing" 😅
Custom matches are a big plus
it's crazy that the first tip is an "advanced tip". but yeah i see so many people stand still at a choke for MINUTES. especially guilty are the supports who only know how to piggyback on tank positioning
Gr8 content😊
If this is a advanced guide this guy is questioning the intelligence of all of us
Ah time to watch a vid about tips I've never/will play
lol @ spiderman's character abilities description
Been following these advice to the T....
my teammates on the other hand XD
is having the enemies blue and teammates red important or just preference
This is one of the best advanced tech tip videos I’ve seen for beginners. Really well done.
Does anyone know if controller can hold a candle to mouse n key in this game? For ranked on PC.
as much as I love playing Loki, I ain't playing him against moon knight
50 games of rivals when?
How are you showing all the health bars? is it a mod? I would like a link XD
It's in the settings, for each character you have options for Allied Healthbars
@ yussir. There was also the enemy health bars at the top. 🤔🤔
@@wwholesomespectating mode
@@wwholesome yeah that was spectating, he was watching someone else's gameplay
I cannot stand when people stagger/trickle. I’ll spam fall back watching our healer walk in solo and die
And get a good quality cheat because most of your opponents will have them. No, I am not kidding.
So glad you're still around! Watched you for the Destiny content and now watching you for the Rivals content!
Sort of non specific crappy tips…you could’ve just said “play more good”
Biggest tip is learn as many characters as possible. Sorry but you can just “main” one character there are so many counters to each character you’ll just get wrecked
I have my vertical/horizontal at like 1.1😂 Ive had my DPI set at 1300 for few years n im not changin that lmao.
It’s so hard for me to get better at this game when I’m dying 24/7☹️
Download right away if you were defending the best thing in the world is a bottleneck it forces them all to group up and come through a much smaller passageway. Bottlenecks ra defenders best friend.
ofcourse its necros at n1
They really need to do something about the hit boxes though it is dumb as hell that some attacks just curve to never miss. Like cloak and dagger and scarlet witch.
??? They are auto targeting attacks, it's the whole point
@ so completely missing should reward you with a hit? No it’s dumb and unbalanced.
@bbjynx1036 just say you know nothing about hero shooters it's okay friend.
@@bbjynx1036guy they were balanced around that mechanic. Scarlet is low tier in case you didn't know and C&D's damage isn't high at all
12:50 I rly don’t appreciate u calling me out like that
Its crazy how many people have 100hrs plus already in this game. Shows this generation does nothing all day. Lmfao hilarious
Advanced Tip: swat dox and stalk your enemy support so they stop playing and the enemy team has no heals
Oh no I guess not. I jumped the gun, sorry
🤖*Insert comment about current state of Destiny in a video about a different game here*🤖
too bad this is a team game so you can be perfect but if your team isn’t you’re screwed
You keep saying make mental notes but what if I’m dumb (real question)
I am new to this game and i just play venom and jeff and win🗿
I always give likes to characters
Comms lose game my guy, if they are bad they are more likely to throw because "that ahole isn't going to tell me what to do"
Don't join voice coms until you are at least in gold
Jeez this video is basically throw your life outta the window and get better at the game lmfao
