This checking and imagining as you go resonates with me. I'm a recently retired engineer getting into cutting and polishing rocks and crystals and it is the same thing.
I really like these dollar store builds: just shows what you can do with a few dollars, a few bits and pieces and some imagination. Great video thanks for sharing.
Nice build! I love the blue light up wire, so many uses for something like that. As for Murphy's law, I know that one all to well lol. Great video Anthony, thanks for all the creative ideas.
Have to love it when you see a shape, put it back, and are 3 isles away from it and have to go back because the slow burning fuse took a few minutes to reach that creative explosion. That looks cool but don't have a use for it to the holy shit it all fits together moments are great especially when you're still in the store. :) You'll poop you're laughing on my current build....
I’m no art major, but I feel like adding a pop of an opposite color purple deepens the contrast on the gold and earth tones. In creative terms it adds intrigue because your mind wanders to other surfaces and materials the prop came in contact with.
Ah, I see you have followed Exeter's instructions and built an Interocitor with Paraglitch Sidereal Spangle. This was another fun build; thank you for sharing your skill and enthusiasm.
If you wanted something a bit over the top you could turn the sides and top into infinity mirrors. I make my own emery boards out of tongue depressors and sand paper, that way for what you would spend on a few boards you can make a lot more and make them how you want them, one strength on both sides or different strengths on each side. Great stuff, Cheers.
The great thing about props like this is they're recyclable from one film to the next. What might be the Macguffin and point of focus in one film can just be used as set dressing in several others.
each time in your intros I feel like you just poped out a portal grab anyone out there and be like "I built a thing come here!" love this little build, with a little soundbank inside it would be great for a scifi larp i think
Tbh, I liked the tupperware. The dark pyramid absorbs too much light, whereas the translucent plastic made it look more complex, mysterious and possibly alive.
Thanks for sharing this. I know the issue with testing everything before assembly. I was making a blaster and put an LED in it wired to the trigger. Everything worked fine until I did the final assembly and couldn't access anything any more.
As a new person learning to make prop’s. MACGRUFFEN is a new word I learned to describe things. Where would I go to learn these terms? Thanks for what your doing.
It's a screenwriting term but you see it pop up quite a bit in other craft of writing books. Alfred Hitchcock describes Macguffins (and I'm paraphrasing from memory here) as "a thing the characters care about that the audience doesn't".
I know you abandoned the Russian TupperDolls, but why did you sand the outside and not the inside? I think the translucent plastic exterior would make your lights glow if you sanded inside maybe ??? 11:45 like Jar Jar?
Love the simplicity and evolution of the build, as well as learning the term MacGuffin.
And inside the core is, of course, the soul of Marcellus Wallace.
maybe!

You could add frosted sheet covers to the walls. Beautiful build. Glad I found your channel ❤️❤️

I think to myself "I need a good video to watch before bed" then this pops up in my sub feed.
Sci-fi magic or a coincidence?
thx!
Ya this if to much info.then your Mind is Thing about it about applying this New Ideas.
Then you can't sleep
Dude... I really dig your creative enthusiasm. It would be a blast to work on a build with you sometime.
good to hear

ya !
If you put masking tape around where you’re cutting, it becomes less likely to shatter. Also your wood burner should have a hot knife attachment.
Tape is an excellent idea....also soaking the plastic in hot tap water to loosen it up helps also!
I knew that totally forgot! thx for reminding me :)

Simple and cool, another great video.
That was cool watching you go through the process of lighting the inside. In the end the containers would not have looked right. 🛸
agreed!
i really enjoy your content. It inspires me to "Create SyFy" maybe a film some day out of my ideas.

Tbh, I liked the tupperware. The dark pyramid absorbs too much light, whereas the translucent plastic made it look more complex, mysterious and possibly alive.

Seeing all the powder and brushes makes me think you could do a good MakeUp tutorial for a filthy looking SpaceBum.
