So does this mean I have to restore my iphone before I can apply the tweak? Or can I do this with my current setup?

It technically will restore your iPhone, but all of your data will be safe, so your current setup should still work. But in the setup, make sure to select "Continue with Partial Setup" to keep your data. If you want to be super safe, you can back up your iPhone in iTunes/Finder.
