As a Swiss engineer - I approve. All our best bridges have an Emmentaler substrate. Also, Toblerone beams. Disclaimer: I am a *software* engineer. My claims about Swiss civil engineering are subject to my complete ignorance on the topic.
At 6:30 there is actually an easier way to do the bug. All you have to do is build a road from a point, then right-click to select it, then hold Shift to enter the movement menu, then hold left-click to move, then press d to delete it . (you have to hold shift and left click the whole time) Then go with your mouse wherever you want the road to end and just press Esc. Then you can undo it by just pressing z and there should be your road :)
Finally so good to see Matt Playing the channel Orginal Series, few of his old ones for which i feel in love with this channel . Poly bridge really is made more entertaining and enchanted by Matt's Commentary. Great job to play it again . Those were some cheesy puns .😅😂
Beating a Game about Bridges without using Bridges: Rules #1: Buy a boat. Rule #2: Just use the damn boat. Rule #3: All you had to do was follow the damn train CJ! Not sure what the last one has to do with anything but I URGE anyone named CJ to just follow the damn train, ya dig? Giggity Diggity Giggity.
If anyone wants to know why the breaking roads launch the vehicles, it has to do with the developers making a change that made cheezing the unbreaking leaderboards next to impossible. In those situations the roads normally wouldn’t break, but there is a large perpendicular force applied to forcibly break them which was implemented with the intent to prevent falling roads from ending up on the unbreaking leaderboards. For some reason, the force can be transferred to the vehicles and can slingshot them long distances in a really stupid way.
6:30 there is a much easier way to do it, right click the node, then hold left shift, then hold left click, then release left shift, then press d, then drag cursor to where you want it to go, then press esc+z
I've never played Polybridge, or any computer game other than the original Diablo, yet I intrigued by all of your videos on PB1or2. That's all I watch of yours. It's very intriguing
As an active Any% speedrunner, I’m glad you’ve fallen into our evil domain! Enjoy your stay! Edit: You didn’t abuse SLRs, you’re not a true speedrunner 😭😭😭
I’ve found the ultimate challenge to see if you are still a real civil engineer. Beat a world from the later half of poly bridge two, but: the bridge has to be reusable (not just no breaks), the cars must not land on anything other than their wheels, cars may not ride each other, and the bridge must be under budget.
"Just constant, terrible, cheese pun jokes; I won't let it happen again... As long as you boosh the like button..." * immediately booshes like button at light speed * "...Because I'm sure you can't Camembert the jokes any longer!" * immediately unbooshes like button * Edit: Obviously this is a joke - the puns were great 🤣
What type of cheese? Even if it’s a magical never-going-off cheese, it’d still smell like cheese, Wrapping cheese in something would defeat the point, so that’s not an answer
3:11 "Aww man I must have been on one that day" I'm sorry, you were on a *sturdy structure* that day? I hope you trussed the tunnel with springs and not steel!
I love that this video is more of a game designers dream than an engineers dream, because you’re abusing the poor physics of this game. I love knowing EXACTLY why these things are happening. Makes me feel like I’m smarter than an engineer (I’m not).
Great, now I'm in bed and hungry... Oh, well... I'll manage... It's a great video with so many cheesy puns I can hardly camembert it... Oh, gods... IT'S SPREADING, AAARRGHH!!!
What the haloumi? :D I don't think I've spent so much time giggling/cackling maniacally in a long time. Now I really want to learn the speedrun for this (y'know, after I finish beating all my friends' scores in PB1).
"this isn't engineering, this is abusing physics"
... isn't that exactly what engineering is?
Idk is it?
@@Jithym Maybe idrk
Uh yes that is engineering
if you're showing off while doing it, it's a dangerously close approach to architecture

Using cheese to beat Poly Bridge makes you a Swiss Engineer.

idk, your theory has tons of tiny holes.
@@Torrengen ...
That’s a ‘Cheesy’ joke
Still a fairly cheesy joke, but it’s grater than the others
The fact you could launch the cars so perfectly to the end makes it look like it was intended
Angry cars
This is definitely my favorite and best way to complete the game.
Lactose intolerant architects do not approve of this video
Yes
This cheese strat review is GREAT. The cheese combined with the RCE commentary. Chefs kiss
I love how Matt still hates dangling road despite using falling road and various catapults.

thanks this helped alot lol
Thanks. this still works!

Matt is the best combination of Dad Jokes and College Humor I have seen in years.
To be fair though, the optimal solutions for most of these seem to be somewhere around 40% engineering and 60% cheese.
“Sandwiched between this guy’s face and his D.”What other context is there RCE?
So much cheese. I want a grilled cheese now
Good question...
I thought that the cheese puns could have been grater
Due to inflationary pressures, the next US infrastructure plan will be named Build Back Cheddar
Hold up, the cheese(y) puns have to return, they were freaking ridiculous!!
Matt building dangling roads... Blink twice if ur kept hostage

"Is speedrunning engineering?"
I'd argue it is. The purpose is to get the most efficient (in this case, fastest) result for the least effort.

That was such a good laugh. I've enjoyed switching on my engineering mind to keep up with your genuine projects, but this Cheese business is too good.

the cheese jokes were no gouda
Speedruning is engineering, but you do it as fast as architect fails
I was nervous I almost thought you left the strongest shape off of the poster
4:30 You went down 3, not down 4; hence it failin
The wr on 1-01 actually used 2 connected roads
This is the truest form of engineering ive ever seen. Just make it work. That's all that is important.
Wallace approves this video
Dangling road just takes advantage of the high tensile strength of the road compared to its compression strength. All roads should dangle

i would love to see Matt play Snowrunner, imagine the amount of "bridge reviews" per episode lol I mean the first mission is to help build a bridge

Oh man, that fire truck solution had me in stitches! I don't know why, it's just funny as hell
This should be a series.
Can we get a world 2 one or a polly bridge 3 one
This video reminded me that Poly Bridge is the reason I started watching this channel. Thanks for the good times, and cheers!

i thought he meant like swiss cheese with the holes and stuff so a bridge with lots of holes in the road
0:30 your nacho self when you cheese punning
If this stuff worked IRL people would absolutely be doing it to build bridges.
Beat pollybridge 1 with cheese
I do appreciate how you diversified you cheese portfolio, Matt, and didn’t stick to one cheese.
Hey Engineer Matt! I bought timberborn because of your gameplay and Oh my word I spent 10 hours in one day just growin my placeout
