also i am a current jr and i’m applying to QuestBridge and they extended the deadline so i have been pushing off sending it to make sure it’s really good. would sending the application later than earlier affect my application process. is it viewed by daily submission or via names ? thank you in advance & please stay safe!

now said i see no reason to go to Stanford but I hope ur university allows u guys to go on a trip to all over the world or invite someone like a actress or celeb or singer etc
You mentioned that if you make under a certain amount of money, Stanford is free. Do you know if you make slightly above the cut off if students pay a lower amount than the huge sticker price? In other words does Stanford adjust the fee to each family can afford?

idk why i am starting on my stanford college essay now (im in 8th grade). It's my dream school. is it wrong starting on my essay super early?
BlueeParis no, but nothing counts until your high school years so you have plenty of time to add experience and stuff of that sort.
You probably should wait to write it until junior or senior year because your writing gets way better after like 10th grade English and you just learn more and have more writing experience
you'll probably change a lot in high school but it's always good to practice!

I graduated from Stanford in 1982. My only regret is not staying on for my PhD.

Excellent video. But I'm going to disagree with you on one point. When I went to Stanford back in 1994, they didn't pair me up with a very good roommate. I had asked for a very quiet and studious roommate, but they put me in a dorm room with some guy on the golf team. His first name was Elwood, or something weird like that, but everyone called him by some ridiculous nickname--I forget that, too. (Cheetah? I might be confusing this with the basest from The Dead Boys. Honestly, I think I've blocked this out of my mind...or I was just too busy studying to remember. It was a long time ago.) Well, the guy was totally out of control. I don't even want to mention most of what he did here in mixed company. It would be totally inappropriate. Anyway, the guy was a total phoney, always pretending he was this little goodie-two-shoes but, believe me, he was just the opposite. But he did a good job at hiding who he really was. Anyway, I don't think the guy even graduated. I think he dropped out after his second year. I don't know what happened to this guy, but I pity any woman who would be foolish enough to marry him and have to live with him. He struck me as the kind of a guy who would pretend he was totally loyal to her and then cheat on her. Living with this guy for one year was enough for me, I can't imagine a how traumatic a long partnership would be. It would probably make his wife want to throw things at him! Sorry, to go on like this, but he totally ruined my freshman year. I spent as little time as possible in the room. One of my friends had a job sweeping up MemChu and on some nights he'd let me in and I'd bring my sleeping bag and sleep on the floor. It was better than being in the room! I'm sure Stanford does a better job at matching up roommates now.
